Hi - I know I'm really late with this but I just heard about the whole fish extenders thing and was wondering if we could join?

We are taking our miracle 5 month old twins. We had booked this trip during the difficult time of going through multipule IVF procedures, this was our happy trip. Then we were shocked to find out that IVF finally worked for us but we still had this trip planned. So I'm just now getting around to finding out all the things to do. Anyway if possible let me know cuz this sounds fun.

I hope I'm not speaking out of turn-
but I think it's not too late. We set a "10 days out" plan and you certainly fall within that time frame. Plus, it seems that we are a "more the merrier" group. So post your cabin #, and people in the cabin (names ages)ASAP so that others can add you to their list.

oohhh I'm so excited. My Husband just laughed and me and shook his head at me.

Our cabin number is: 6539
There are 4 of us
Camala
Dave
Georgie (6 months)
Davie (6 months)

welcome aboard :yay: , I agree with Cyndi, joining the FE should be ok. You will have a great time cruising with babies, it's just great. We started cruising with our DD at 8 months before she crawled or ate much solid food and it was great! have you booked your Flounder's reef times?

As for the FE gifts, pls don't stress out, trinkets are fine!

We did reserve our time at flouders reef, and we have a dinner at palo reserved too.

roobug, I will be happy to add you to the FE list, as someone else stated we all agreed on finalizing FE details at 10 days out so you still have time to join. Welcome to the Fish Exchange and the DIS boards. You will have so much fun with your family on this cruise.

Welcome roobug! Congratulations on Georgie and Davie...such a precious age!

I have a feeling most of our husbands are smiling and shaking their heads at us :) , so you're in good company!

Just got back from shopping for the trip - getting FE stuff was fun

make sure you come to one of our two "meets" on the boat. Would love to see those babies (my baby is 5 already) I miss that wonderful baby smell

We will make it to the meets - can't wait.

Hey I saw someone is from Alaska - I grew up in Juneau and my family is all still there. We spend a month each summer there. I miss it - but not the weather!!!

Hey everyone!

Has anybody booked any crazy shore excursions? I think we might do the Jeep thing in Cozumel, but I don't know. I'm also hesitant because of the weather, if it's chilly......I don't want to go snorkeling or anything. Do you guys think it'll still be available on the ship if I want to do it then?:confused3

Do a google search and see if you can book it independent of Disney. I remember reading about it. And I have a feeling, with this economy, lots of things will be available last minute. People who are tight for money may not be canceling their cruise, but I'll bet they are cutting back in other ways (excursions). BTW, that jeep thing looks awesome!!! I read raving reviews. See you on the boat!

Sweet! I should mention that we were actually going to book it with DCL because we got some gift cards from my family for Christmas for use towards the excursions. I'm so happy!

By the way Cynidk1111----did you see our weather forecast for Thursday? I know in Rochester here they're calling for a high of 4 degress with a low of -6!! EWWWW!!! This cruise is looking better everyday!

Where and when are the meets....I know that there was a lot of discussion and I can't recall everything!

12 days!

12 days!

I think we settled on the 1st meet saturday 3:15 (or was it 3:30) in the promanade lounge (I better double check the locale)

And the second was monday 1st day at sea for after breakfast at cove cafe- 10:30??? I better scan back to the previous posts to make sure.

And yes I saw that forecast. I was going to swim at the YMCA that day- but I'm rethinkng those plans!!!(frozen hair?)

We are still considering XCaret in Cozumel. Not completely sure yet. We'll wait to book until onboard and if its full, oh well, there are other excursions that sound great to us too!

So, originally we were flying into Orlando the day the cruise left--basically because we didn't have an extra vacation day--however--Erie has been hit with some severe winter weather the past week or so and it is supposed to continue for a while. Also, when we received our cruise docs, DCL air had us flying from Erie--to--Philly--to--Orlando and not arriving in Orlando until 1pm. ACK! That would mean, if we were lucky we'd be on the ship by 3pm and would miss our meet and lunch and the opportunity to look around the terminal and ship early. I was freaking out worrying about us missing the ship.

So, I called DCL yesterday and explained my concern for weather and the fact that we had absolutely no room in our schedule for any sort of delays (if we were an hour late--we'd miss the ship--well, we COULD miss the ship anyways).

So they said it wouldnt be too late to change our air and fly in the day prior. So thats what we are doing. It cost alot to change it, but we have peace of mind and know we will get to the port on time.

In case anyone was wondering--if anyone misses the ship, they can fly to the first non-US port of call to catch up with the ship, but it would mean missing the first 3 days of the cruise, since our first stop is Key West (US port). There is a law that prevents passengers from boarding the ship at another US port.

The other option--we could have stayed at a Disney resort, if we missed the cruise. Good thing we don't have to worry now!!!

Where are you staying Friday night? We are at the Radission in Cape C. It looks like they have a great pool. very close to the terminal. If you decide to come to Cape c on Friday, and stay at the radisson, let me know- we'll look for you.
Lots of people rent cars from orlando to cape C (one way) for about $50.
Good luck on the trip changes.

OK, let's make this official-
We will plan two meets
1) Embarkment day Jan 24th at 3:15 Promenade Lounge
2) 1st day at Sea Monday Jan 26 11:00 am Cove Cafe

These will become finalized at 10 days out (like the FE)
So if you have objections or want a change- please speak up before then!

Do we consider day ten 11:59pm Wednesday jan 14Th ?

I have Great News!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I did confirm Mickey Mouse will be on the Disney Magic the week of January 24, 2009 with all of us.

Just think of all the families that will be traveling to Disney World this week that will not get to see Mickey Mouse. :teacher:

Oh well, their loss is our gain! :woohoo:

:rotfl2:

:rotfl2: too funny

Does anyone have experience doing excusions with little ones (ie our 5 month olds?) We are trying to figure out things to do at the ports. We are using our Nursery time to do a Palo dinner, and to spend the morning at CC. Then we have a few hours on the at sea days to go to the rainforest - that is if we can get the week pass :yay:
