I agree, what a great story Amanda. I bet she is really getting excited now. Do your boys know yet?

Oh yeah, sorry my boys have know about this cruise. Iti s the double dip cruise in May that we have not told them about. We want to make sure we are actually able to go b4 telling them. There is some talk at work about layoffs and such. Sad that with 8 years of service, such a thing has to be worried about.

Hi, everyone!!!

I'm back from NYC and we had a great time. The antibiotics I got before the trip were just what I needed, as my sil and my neice both got sick toward the end of the trip. We'll see if it gave me some advanced help, too!! I'll know by the middle of the week!! We never got into the Empire State Building (other than the PO on the main floor), no double decker bus, and the day we were supposed to spend in Central Park, Jesse got pretty sick. We did get back there and rode a carriage after we checked out of the hotel and before we went to the airport, so that was fun. We spent WAY too much time at World of Disney, and went to Tiffany's twice! Lots of subway trips this time, and those 2 feeling bad a couple of days was the only problem. Well, the Rangers did lose, but the seats I got off stubhub.com were amazing!!!

OK, nothing is more important than this cruise now!!! It's been a while since I've been on here...sounds like this is the telephone/teacher cruise!!!

We're renting a car at the airport, not sure how many days we'll keep it, though. We'll be at Pop both before and after the cruise. We come in the afternoon of the 19th and leave on the 29th. Just an FYI, but the food court at Pop is great so anyone staying at AS resorts might like to walk over and check it out one day. Some different food there like tie dye cheesecake!! It's pretty unique!!

Working on costumes....I bought a skirt and also a couple hats in NYC, so I have a start....nothing like the last minute planning!!!

Anyone heard from Alvaro at all? He said he'd have internet, so he must be having too much fun to chat with us!! :confused3

Here is what I have planned, but with a 3 yr old and 4 yr old sometimes everything gets turned upside down.

Thursday 1/19 - at MCO 12:55, magical express to POP then off to MK (dinner @ Crystal Palace)

Friday 1/20 - Epcot (dinner @ Akershus/Princess dining)

Sat 1/22 MGM in the morning, (Chef Mickey's for dinner) then the final evening @ MK.

Sunday I am supposed to pick up car rental @ Downtown Disney early then we will be off to port.

Kelli, Glad to see you made it back and had a good time except for SIL illness. We took the double decker bus tour last summer and loved it! Maybe we'll have to meet at the food court for a beverage in the evening or for coffee for breakfast . Let me know!

No, I haven't heard anything from Alvaro. Guess he is having to much fun and not thinking about us! :worried:

Michael--What kind of dogs do you show?? Have fun!
Karin: We breed and show Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers. I've attached a pic of my latest little girl who got her championship last year. The shows in P.S. were great as the weather was perfect and one of the dogs I bred won Best of Breed on Saturday and received and Award of Merit today. Hope no one minds that I've attached the pic! (Pay NO attention to the Tomato Dress!!)

BTW, thanks for the Costco price info. Congrats on your cat 3 for the October cruise! If you ever get the Roy or Walt suite, let us know so we can book the same cruise as you!
We'll be inviting EVERYONE to join us!!!

Dzneprincess - Regarding Expedition Everest, DVC members are also invited for this soft opening. Animal Kingdom wasn't going to be on our "must do" for WDW, but it is now! We'll be racing you to the gate!

Our plane doesn't get in til 410p, so we'll do something at the resort or DD and save a day at WDW.

Maybe we'll see you dropping off our rental, if we wait that long. We'll have to get together some time at the resort...maybe we could take over a corner of the food court!! Invite those AS people......who knows? I'll give it some thought this week! We're doing the Stitch breakfast at GF that Sat morning.

We'd talked about doing the double decker either first thing, to get our bearings as to what is where, or at the end, and if we wanted to jump off and hit something we missed, we'd be able to jump back on and go somewhere else. Turns out. the last morning, we got REALLY turned around in Greenwich Village and Soho and didn't get much accomplished.

I hope he checks in soon.....I'm sure he's just TOO busy playing! But we still have lots of time, I guess.....its just that if he's already there...its REALLY close for us, too! Yippeeeeeeee!!! :cool1:

Michael, she is beautiful!!! But, I'll pass on the skirt.....I guess if you're a judge, you can wear things like that....and call it "kicky" and "fun"........:rotfl2:

Thanks all for the comments. I really try to hold my tongue when it comes to fashion, because I really have such a lousy eye for clothes (don't know how THAT gene got messed up!!!!). I was totally unaware of the judge that day except when she pointed at me and gave me the win (well, she actually pointed at Miyake. I obviously have too much grey in my goatee!!!). It wasn't until I got the picture in the mail a week later and sent it off to a couple of friends, who then immediately got back to me with "What the HECK is she wearing?" and all I was looking at was the dog, that I saw the outfit! We still laugh about it and I show the picture with my hand usually covering up the lower part of the dress! Can't have a dress upstaging my dog!

Good point. She had to wear that as to not steal the lime light away from Miyake! Wow maybe she's a trend setter.......well maybe not! LOL

Well, I have the costumes boxed up along with some suprise gift baskets for the kids in our room. They are sand pails filled with beach toys for cast away cay and also junior mints/mike & Ikes/cheese popcorn and hot tamales for the theater. They are really cute! I thought why drag them along..... just mail to port! Now they will be a suprise.

Michael did you get your costumes mailed?

Oh, can anyone answer this. For the pillowcases or t-shirts you drop off to be autographed, should you wash them 1st? Also where do you drop them off at? Sorry if this is a repeat question. It just popped into my head.

Drop them off at guest services on Deck 3. As you enter the ship go straight back and to your right! I guess if you so chose you could wash them. I never have. I jsut keep the Sharpies that I used to ahve them signed, and freshen them up every couple of wash cycles!

For some reason, I have just gotten very excited about this trip tonight! I guess because maybe I have realized that 2 weeks from now we will be sailing! Woohoo! Is anyone else dining at Palo on the 1st evening? I called my MIL to make sure she could leave on Friday instead of Saturday and she tickled me, because she said she was all packed and ready to go! Not really but whenever I said she would be here in 15 minutes! HAHA

We haven't made ressies at Palo yet. We were trying to decide when, or whether to just do brunch. Since we haven't ever been on the wonder before, we do not want to miss any of the restaurants. Any ideas or comments?

I bought some actual fabric markers that are not suppose to come off or fade, I have sharpies too. Thanks for the info. Have you ever brought on wine? We thought about bringing on a few bottles of our favorite to enjoy in our room. I am getting so excited, I want to leave now!!!! ::yes::

Not wine, but we have brought a cooler full of beer. The soft sided rolling kind! Not a problem. I will be bringing some wine aboard this cruise. Some bottles of Banfi! The best!
If you have to PICK between brunch or dinner, my personal fave is brunch, but if you can, try for both! They are both great! But brunch is my personal fave. My MIL and I will be doing both!

We also try to ignore the comments of friends who try to equate her taste in clothes to her taste in dogs. Sore losers, all! Nyah, nyah, nyah.

They are in the boxes, just waiting to be taped up and taken to UPS/FEDEX tomorrow. Wanted to make sure they had time to make the trip but not get there so early that they got misplaced.

Our Palo ressies are for Sunday night. We had read a poster who stated that she and her husband always went the first night to signify the start of the cruise. Thought it was a reasonable idea, and good thing as when we went to book, Sunday night was the only night available! We'll be trying for a brunch ressie once we get on board.

Thanks Amanda,
I think I will try and get that booked online if I can. Brunch was what I was thinking too. :earsboy: Is dress slacks and a blouse OK for this? :confused3

Actually I hate dresses so I will likely wear dress slacks whenever dressing up!!!! :goodvibes

How far of a drive is Orlando from your place?

OK group! I had my first official panic attack last night as I was trying to put together 4 outfits for our cruise dinners. While completing my doctorate while working full time and changing jobs, I gained a lot of weight. I started going to the gym in Sept. with zero results. Anyway, I think I have them laid out now.

My question is: Is it cool/cold in the dining rooms & theatre? I'm one of those people who grabs a sweater when it drops to 70 degrees. I have skirts planned for each night. Do I need to throw some pants in??? :confused3

Please advise ASAP! :worship:
