..and I imagine by September the KSF thing will be more of a possibility. If that hits our cruise date the board should get busier. Then again if it falls before or after our cruise date then the board may become a ghost town
I know I'd shift a week or two if it meant saving 1k.

I am so excited! My Father in law just called and told my DH that he will buy our airfare for the trip with his airline miles! This is gonna save us at least $500!

So what excursions is everyone looking at? I'm thinking about just taking a taxi to the beach at Grand Cayman but there are just too many choices for Cozumel! We definitely want to check out one of the ruins excursions.

We have decided not to do anything, unless DH wants to do a dolphin excursion with the older boys. I'd rather just explore and hit up the Margaritaville waterslide!

Not that I'm concerned about lifelong freindships or anything but I do dig the fact that there was kinda an extra level of familiarity and opportunity for participation in the cruise and facebook group was part of it.
Think I'll probably fire up a group closer to the cruise date in the fall (since there may be some that change dates, have to cancel, etc). Cool option to have and kinda adds a more interactive precruise option to get to know each other a bit.

Any rate...neat to read about the DIS group element adding so much to it.

That's awesome! Hubby & I would be in the facebook group (we have different accts).

Even though we cruised before, we have never done FE before. Son want's to do it for sure! I'm just nervous about getting a FE & gifts without going crazy spending wise. I'm not a crafty person.

I just looked at airfare today & wasn't pleased at what I found. More money than we paid for our last cruise. I had to remind myself that it's still early...

We've started looking into excursions too. In Key West think we will just walk around, maybe visit the aquarium with the kids. In Grand Cayman looking at the dolphin experience and turtle farm, looks fun, though DH and DD2 would only get to watch. In Cozumel would love to do one of the ruins but worry the kids are too young and would get bored. Maybe a beach break. Any opinions? I guess we will see, still got a while to figure it out. We would also be interested in doing the facebook group if one is started. 192 days to go!can't wait!

But I've made it closed meaning one needs to be approved by an admin to join and will only be able to find it on facebook but not see any content (beyond the description)
Just another place to gather everything and a little less intimidating for those joining the cruise meet thread later as we can add notes on the facebook page, add links, post pics, etc.

Cheerio and Loriekins I'll obviously make admins once they join since they've been organizing much of this stuff already. Feel free to edit whatever you see fit with the description and spread word around.
I'm going to experiment but firing both of you the link to the facebook page to see if that's good enough to give you a link to request to join or if you need to manually search it out once logged onto facebook. If the link works then we can fire it off to everyone else on Cheerio's spreadsheet.

I love the idea! Hopefully more of us can connect this way. On our last cruise I had talked to many on the dis boards for months & was never able to meet them on the cruise. Maybe this will help us connect on board too.

Just having the front page have the info about the option to sign up on Cheerio's spreadsheet and the fact there's a facebook page with a link kinda thingy. Kinda like a hub for our cruise on disboards.

Cool to have someone who's actually sailed this cruise before. You can be sure we'll be picking your brain for excursion opinions based on this years trip. Look for Cheerio and send her a private message with your email and she'll give you access to the google spreadsheet she has going which had all the disboards travelers so far (including kids ages)
We also just stated a facebook page. You shoukd be able to find the link a bit earlier in this thread (I'm on the phone..bit tricky to track it down now)
Great idea to pen pal with your daughter pre-cruise. Dunno if my 17 month ols DD would be conversational enough in her emails though Seem to recall there being a few teens on the spreadsheet though.
