1/2 price gift certificates

I also inquited about Margaritaville and was told soon, but.....

I went there today and they have redone the page and only have the most recent restaurants listed. Hope that is not a sign they are almost over.

Also, the 104.1 site says next week there is Church Street. Starting today is Za Bistro.

For those of you wanting to hear from someone who actually used the GC's, we were at Universal Mar. 15-16 and used one $50 GC at Pastamore and one at Latin Quarter. We enjoyed both meals, although I'd have to agree with some previous posters that the dinner at Pastamore was a little blah. Our waiter was great and they had a violinist walking from table to table taking requests, but the food was so-so. Nothing bad, and we felt it probably was worth it with the GC. I got the chicken marsala (ok); DH got the chicken parmesan (he liked his); DD13 got ravioli, I think, which she liked; DD got kids chicken fingers, I believe. We got calamari as an appetizer, which was pretty good. Both DH and I had wine with dinner, and I think one of the girls might have gotten a milkshake. Our tab with tip was around $100, as I remember. We had no trouble with the GC.

We went to the Latin Quarter the next day for lunch. The service was so-so, but we all enjoyed our meals. DH and I had the lunch special ($10 ea.); both DD's got kids meals of some kind. DH had a couple of beers, and we had a cheese dip for an appetizer. With tax and tip (added automatically to the bill) our total was about $48. I read on the back of the coupon that tax and tip were not included. I noted this when I handed it to the waiter, and he said he would charge me for the tax and tip. He then went back, I thought to re-ring the bill, and when he came back he said we were square. I offered again to pay, and he said that was fine.

All in all, the GC's were a good deal. I hope they are offered the next time we visit Orlando. They really are a good way to try new restaurants. Sorry this is so long!

Bought my first GC just now for Pastamore. I'm hoping another GC comes out for The Kitchen and HRC that don't expire until after 8/31. Thanks to the original OP for the info and a big thank you momto4boys for letting me know that this thread existed. I'm still hoping someone will comment from personal experience whether they were able to do separate checks for the ones that are 2 x $25 GFs.:D

thanks for the great info susie and the original poster!!

i wish i hadn't procrastinated and bought certain coupons before they sold out (motown)

well, since i finally have confirmation that there were no problems with using the coupons, i am gonna order what few choices are left

i figure i have been to restaurants many times and asked for seperate checks so i don't anticipate any problem with getting seperate checks to use the two $25 coupons

OP here! Delighted to hear that people have been using these with success. Because we got them before they showed expiry dates we can use ours until the end of the year - I think! At the moment my texan friend still has them but she assures me that the expiry dates will be good till Oct.
Like others I am waiting for other certificates to come online.

I have to say that it does not seem good that the latest certificates have all been for places other than Citiwalk. I keep hoping that they just cycle through all of the offers and then return to the original. It would make sense that they operate on that type of system if Margaritaville is being offered again in April. Let's keep our fingers crossed because it is an excellent deal!

Just returned--used 2 $25 Nascar Cafe certificates (asked for 2 checks but the server said we could use both certificates for 1) Pat Obriens (used 2 $25 for the same check servers very friendly Go on Tuesdays--1/2 price drinks and appetizers at 5pm) Used 2 certificates at the Kitchen with no problems servers very nice and 2 at hard rock cafe without any problems for the same check. All places were accomodating with the certificates--

lvm99,

Thanks for the update. We were hoping that we wouldn't have to get separate tables to use both certificates at once.

I am really hoping for Margaritaville!! I would love to see NBA City come up also. Have either of these been offered in the past?

Does anyone know if I can order a GC and have it shipped directly to RPR. Will they hold it at the front desk?

lvm99,

Thanks for the info. Were you able to use the GC's for drinks at Pat O'Briens? I love deuling pianos and am so looking forward to this place!

Thanks again!

Amy

Has anyone paid with one of the $50 certificates for a bill that was less than $50. I wonder if the restaurants give some kind of credit receipt or cash back or if we lose the rest of the money on the certificate if we don't use the entire $50.

Just doing my daily morning check (can you tell I'm anxious) and discovered that the individual radio websites are now having different deals. 3 have Church Street starting tomorrow, the other 4 have Pastamore. They also now have a statement that there may be $100 deals for $50 or $50 for $25. On each radio station page is a link to all the others. http://halfprice.magic107.com is one.

thanks

I live in Orlandoa nd have used Hard Rock (2- $25 certs) and Margaritaville (1-$50 cert).

Hard Rock is so-so, but Margaritaville was awesome.

I've heard bad reviews on the NASCAR cafe.

I'm holding out for Margaritaville and will try to snag 2 or 3 of the certificates.

Hi Amy. Yes, you can use the Pat O'Brien's GCs just for your bar tab. We did, twice. In fact, they probably wouldn't give you any trouble if you tried to use both at the same time.

Have fun! We loved Pat O's, and our favorite dueling piano man was George.

This has to be the best deal around! I just bought for Pastamore, HRC & The Kitchen. I just hope we can do The Kitchen one justice! There is just me and the two boys, and it's for lunch. I guess we can add some sandwiches on the ticket "to go" to get our $50 worth (it's one of the $50 coupons) and save to eat later....unless it's dine-in only? I think we'll have dinner at HRC one night, and then one night when leaving the park, buy a bunch of their munchies to take back to the hotel. I wonder if their Santa Fe eggrolls are like Chili's Southwest eggrolls, I LOVE them!

I'm just sooooo stoked about out trip, can't wait!!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

We go to Orlando often and listen to 100.3 (I think that is correct)--the oldie station. They advertise these all of the time. We may try for a few before our trip, but you have to watch the expiration dates. We have eaten at nascar and really like it We also went to Motown Cafe and it was good too. We have a US/IOA trip planned for the end of april and maybe in mid-July so am trying to combine certificates to cover both, so far nothing. will have to check back.
