For those of you wanting to hear from someone who actually used the GC's, we were at Universal Mar. 15-16 and used one $50 GC at Pastamore and one at Latin Quarter. We enjoyed both meals, although I'd have to agree with some previous posters that the dinner at Pastamore was a little blah. Our waiter was great and they had a violinist walking from table to table taking requests, but the food was so-so. Nothing bad, and we felt it probably was worth it with the GC. I got the chicken marsala (ok); DH got the chicken parmesan (he liked his); DD13 got ravioli, I think, which she liked; DD got kids chicken fingers, I believe. We got calamari as an appetizer, which was pretty good. Both DH and I had wine with dinner, and I think one of the girls might have gotten a milkshake. Our tab with tip was around $100, as I remember. We had no trouble with the GC.
We went to the Latin Quarter the next day for lunch. The service was so-so, but we all enjoyed our meals. DH and I had the lunch special ($10 ea.); both DD's got kids meals of some kind. DH had a couple of beers, and we had a cheese dip for an appetizer. With tax and tip (added automatically to the bill) our total was about $48. I read on the back of the coupon that tax and tip were not included. I noted this when I handed it to the waiter, and he said he would charge me for the tax and tip. He then went back, I thought to re-ring the bill, and when he came back he said we were square. I offered again to pay, and he said that was fine.
All in all, the GC's were a good deal. I hope they are offered the next time we visit Orlando. They really are a good way to try new restaurants. Sorry this is so long!
