Thanks for all the well wishes, everyone! I have happy to report that we have power, water and....wait for it.....heat!!!! Sure, we also have a foot and a half of snow falling, but at least we can warm up now!

NOW, I can start thinking about the cruise! For anyone interested, I got some cool information about out our cruise...

Our cruise director will be Christiaan. Though I am going to miss our friend Rachel very much, I am excited to get to meet a new cruise director. I hear he is hysterical!

Also, here's a list of the movies that are playing in the Buena Vista Theater...

Couldn't be happier to hear that all is well at your house! We had 37 inches of snow fall in the last 30 hours and as annoying as that can be WE HAVE POWER and the ability to keep warm! Plus, so long as you don't have to go out in it (which we do unfortunately), it's BEAUTIFUL! If anyone's on facebook look me up ... Georji Brown (spokane network). I have tons of videos and photos of the pretty snow! The fun parts!

As for Bolt ... We took our 6 year old son and some friends to see it for his birthday and it was ADORABLE! So cute! We'll be seeing that one for sure if it works out!

As I was driving to work this morning between two snow banks over 6 feet tall I thought to myself, 4 weeks from now I'll be in Walt Disney World and in 5 weeks we'll all be in the middle of the ocean! YAY!!!

Christiaan is the man!!! He was the Cruise Director for our Western in Jan of 2007. Of course, if he is the same person, I would think so. He is extremely nice and very funny. He is a former performer and dancer for DCL I have heard. He definately can dance because he was moving during the Pirates party last time.

As for Bolt, great movie. I wonder if they have the special 3-D movie theater set up yet. that would be a great movie to see if the theater is doing the new 3-D's that they were planning on moving to.

I'm glad to hear you've gotten your power back and especially your heat. Sorry to hear about the pipes bursting though. Hang in there...you'll be away from it all before you know it relaxing with your fellow disers on the Magical Mickey Boat.

Glad to hear you're OK and WARM again.

Now, let's just ask: DOES ANYONE HERE REALLY NEED TO BE PSYCHED ANY MORE THAN YOU ALREADY ARE FOR THE CRUISE?

I think this is the first time I've been looking forward to AFTER Christmas, 'cause Christmas is a BIG DEAL in our house. Any more excitement and I think I'd vibrate - and it's undignified in a man my age...

I started going through our "Disney Trip" tote this afternoon, and Jim rolled his eyes at me.

So so far all I've done is pull out only what we need for this trip from the tote and put the rest away. I'd start packing, but Jim would tease me for at least the next 2 weeks. We usually get into heavy packing mode 2 weeks prior. It's probably a good thing - I'm anticipating gift cards for Christmas that I can spend on new cruising clothes!

Yes, Christiaan is a former DCL dancer and from what have been told, the new 3D theater should be fully functioning starting this week or the next. I got the movie listing from the DCL Operator. The cruise director information I got from friends who still work on the ship.

I'm bummed not to see the movie Bedtime Stories on your list. I was so hoping to see it on the cruise.
However we haven't seen Bolt or BH Chihauhau (spelling?) so that's good.

We got them from our pre-stay in WDW but then the airlines changed our dates so we need new ones! Either way we're excited! We haven't received anything from the cruise line though ... anyone else?

Funny today was the first day I really started thinking about packing. I looked at all my shorts in my closet and said wow, I am going to have to start thinking about what to bring soon. We are so looking forward to this cruise. We just got hit with some snow here in NY but not too bad. We are looking at some more tomorrow as well. Obviously I don't think we will have as much trouble as some people...I am glad you are back to civilization with lights and heat.

Well, 5 days till Christmas and then the countdown really begins...

Okay, so I spent some time going through the entire thread to get some idea of how big a space we might need for the DIS meet. So far my numbers aren't quite as high as last January (we had 181 on my list last year!) but it's a pretty big bunch, and I don't even have totals for everyone!

We've had far too much going on to plan out gifts and so forth. Hope no one takes it as an insult, I just know from experience that we aren't going to make it to the meet.

I updated the numbers. It's no problem about the meet and FE and stuff - I've planned extended group trips and I know how crazy it gets! Sometimes it's hard to even get a couple minutes to catch your breath and remember you're on vacation!

We should do something low-key for the meet, and try not to interfere too much with other activities. Last year it was at at 9am on Sunday - overlapping our Character Breakfast! We skipped it, but I'm planning on trying to go this year. Maybe Sunday afternoon instead? That should avoid conflicting with settling in on Saturday, and miss most of the Sunday morning Character Breakfast/ Palo brunch bookings.

We are from NY and those traveling are DW, DS 7, DD 7, and I. Of course, we don't know what will bring us or where we will be at any part of the day if we don't have something planned. Wow everyone! I'm THRILLED that we're all so close ... my kids are of course counting down days until Christmas but I'm counting down the days till we leave! YAY! With all the weather I'm terrified that our flights won't go out (I'm TERRIFIED of flying anyway), we've had terrible weather just like the rest of the country ... but we're going in early.
