1/17/09 Magic anyone???

No you will be getting your character breakfast assigned day when you get to your room. It does not cost extra. Our breakfast was on Thursday the last time we were on the Western.

Also, some important information...if you booked your cruise after a certain time period you may be eligible for a credit. Disney has stopped the fuel surcharge so if it was active and you paid it when you booked your cruise you will be credited that amount as an onboard ship credit.

Everyone should check and see if they paid this surcharge. I can't remember when they started it but it was earlier this year. Maybe this is the credit your TA caught but don't wait make sure you get credited the amount.

Tim

Thanks Tim ... we booked before they applied the surcharge, so as far as I can tell we weren't charged. But our TA did just come back and let me know that she applied a disney promotion to our Pre-Stay and saved us almost 200! That was a nice surprise!

Thanks for the info on the character breakfast! That will be FUN! What characters are usually there?

If memory serves correct Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale. I had to go back and look at my photos. They were the ones that were there back in Jan '07 so I would think they would still be there this time.

Ok ... so I've asked my parents for Luggage for Christmas and as soon as Christmas is over I'll be filling my new luggage! Is everyone else packing already? We bought our boys Mickey luggage (the one they had on disneyshopping . com) so they'll be getting that ... we'll be packing the day after Christmas ... anyone else? I just can't believe we're all so close!

I can't wait to start packing either - although, like you, I just need to get through Christmas first. I have been ordering a TON of short sleeve shirts for the kids from Disney's site. Good prices...got a bunch for $3.88 each!! Now I just need to figure out a way to fit back into my summer clothes!! :lmao:

Luggage??? Gee, maybe I should make sure we have that!! :rotfl: Can you tell, I am not a planner!! :scared: All I know is that I will be on that flight on the 16th - regardless of the weather!!

Hahah - nope I'm not packing yet. I normally don't do that until about 2 days before we leave. I have been working on my packing list though.

It's just around the corner!!!!!!! I started making our itinerary today togive out to the rest of our crew. I make up a sheet with the menus for each night, the dress for the meal, the shows, our excursions, etc. I use the most recent Navigators I can find on line to make them up. It's fun and makes it real for everyone in our group!

Reporting from the frozen tundra of New Hampshire, I am totally bummed to report that we STILL have no power and no water. Our house is basically an igloo at this point. We lost everything Friday morning from the ice storm and are still out. We are staying down in Massachusetts with family and are hoping and hoping that there is no major damage and that we do not have any bursted pipes at home. Everyone keep your fingers crossed for us that the power come back soon!

Jenn -

Yuck! We've had power outages for a few days here in NC in the past in winter and it's bad enough here - I can't imagine going through days without power up north! I hope everything gets fixed before the holidays!

But just think - in little over a month, you'll be in the sunny, warm Carribbean!

Hmm. Just over a month... Anyone know when the DIS meet is? I have to get it in my itinerary before it's all booked up! :rotfl:

Wow, I hope things will work out for you with no real damage. Just another reason why I don't like winter. I stay feeling like a popsicle all winter. Good luck with everything.

Just curious about upgrades...we are almost at that 30 day mark :hourglass and there seems to be a LOT of rooms left on the reservations systems!!! :cool1:

Anyone gotten an upgrade - here is some pixie dust for everyone to get an upgrade!! pixiedust:

I keep checking too!! LOL My only guess would be that they are waiting until the last minute for upgrades...like at the port. Maybe your pixidust will help and we'll all get some sort of upgrade! I can hardly wait to get our luggage tags in the mail!!

Wow one month from today and I will be sleeping at the Hyatt in MCO dreaming about waking up the next day and travelling to the Port. Sweeeettt..... I just read that boarding has changed. It seems, as per Deb Wills of Allears, DCL has changed their boarding procedure due to the gangway collapse recently. It seems that your boarding picture will be taken in the terminal and then you will enter through the area where you pick up your luggage after your cruise. From there you will enter through Deck one and take the elevator up to Deck 3 and through the atrium. It does not say whether this is a temporary thing or a new permanent thing. We shall see. Well when we wake up tomorrow it will be one month to go!!!!

Still no power, still no water and we have pipes that have now burst. Fun, fun times......I could use a vacation!!!

Oh, Tink... ...its such a rotten time to be going through all this. I saw another snow storm coming (sorry to mention it!) and thought of you on this board. Only 30 days to go and by this time (10:45AM) next month you will be sitting in the terminal with that number 2 boarding pass waiting to walk onto your home away from home!

Thaw out soon and hang in there - all our prayers are with you!! :goodvibes

I'm so sorry Tink! That's awful! :( We received 12 inches of snow today ... and the high was 14 ... that's after we've had single digits for nearly a week. HOWEVER, we have power and heat, so I'm not complaining!

I was just telling my boys that 4 weeks from today we'll be in our hotel room at Disney World recovering from a full day at the Animal Kingdom! We're so excited!!! :rotfl: pirate: :yay: :woohoo: :cloud9:

Sorry to hear it Jenn. I can't believe how bad it is up there. :( You DO need a vacation!!! Can't believe we'll be seeing you in less than 30 days. :woohoo:

Ok ... we now have over 2 feet of snow ... it's INSANE! Everything is shut down today ... kind of fun, but now sitting here planning my time in the sun! YAY!!!

Hey Tink! I'm so sorry that you were caught in that. I presume you've run the taps, turned off the water, and so on to prevent the pipes from bursting. When the heat comes on again, wait a while before turning the water on again - give the pipes a chance to warm up so they don't burst with the contrast in temperature.

We (here in Toronto) are expecting two big storms from Colorado, with a third possible on Christmas Eve, and I suspect that you're in the path, too. Are you going to be OK? Do you have enough heat / warm clothes / water / canned food / packs of playing cards to get through? After the ice storm that kicked Quebec, NH, VT, and eastern Ontario about 5 years ago, my wife and I started stocking emergency supplies (I'm a Scout leader). If your power is still out, this might be a time to exercise discretion (as the better part of valour), and get the heck out of there.

Come and stay with us for Christmas, if you can't shame anyone else into having you.

Hoping you're well,
Richard
