1/10/09- EARLY Roll Call! Who's coming?

OK, my DW drives me crazy. She never gets anything for herself, so I secretly schedule a couples massage and a cabana massage for her, (and me too!). She's so bad I have to nag her to get a outfit to wear for dinner cuz she normally only wears sweatpants and a scrub top. So out of the blue she tells me she wants a massage on the cruise for her birthday. I can't win! Now I have to come up with something else to surprise her with. Any suggestions from those who have been on the Magic before? Any extra nice, but not overly pricey, spa treatments? Anything else?

Peacekeeper - just brainstorming this early Monday morning - does she wear jewelry or watches? Pick up something for her in Treasure Ketch and have it delivered to your stateroom or Palo if you're going there for brunch or dinner. Or if she sees something that she likes but doesn't want to buy it, you could get that for her. I surprised my DH several years ago by buying a watch in Treasure Ketch he looked at for about 2-3 days. I had it wrapped and it was delivered to him at Palo after dinner and before the soufle.

Or, you could book another cruise and surprise her with the confirmation!

Ok....so let me ask - who on the FE list has a little girl that is WAY into HSM and Hannah Montana that actually likes to have the merchandise? Let me know their names and they will be getting some extra special FE gifts from Meg, courtesy of my ex-MIL. This woman has no clue!
Meg loves HSM but does NOT want a tote bag with the characters on it,etc... LOL.
She said when she opened it she about died, and then thought "Hmmmmmm FISH EXTENDER GIFT!". LOL.
So let me know - there is all kinds of it and we will divide it up among little girls who like this sort of thing!

LOL! Lump me in with your DMIL! In my infinite wisdom, I was thinking hmmmm girls LOVE Hannah Montana and HSM, so they will be easy to buy for!

How about a bottle of nice perfume? Or perhaps, have a bottle of wine/champagne & chocolate covered strawberries delivered to your stateroom or table? There is also a package with 2 bathrobes, chocolates and a bottle of wine/champagne (or nonalcoholic beverage) that can be purchased. I also saw that on the main board a lady named Shirley Nelson Brown? makes gift baskets that could be delivered for the cruise.
I think you are very sweet to put so much thought into what to get her. Good luck on finding the perfect gift!

I have heard there are strollers onboard at GS. Does anyone know if this is true? If it is, how many do they have? DW and I are trying to decide if we should take one for a 3 yr old.

The ship has strollers. They were a pretty good quality. You have to provide a deposit of an amount which I forget. You can get them from GS. We did this last time and put the stroller in the bathtub when not using it. They do have several.

For Tiggerlover2: Those are great ideas, but I failed to mention neither of us are drinkers, (I know, it's a curse!). I think if I got a basket of some sort sent to the cabin the boys would "assist" her and it would turn into a family thing. You know how that goes!
Jan: I really like the thought of a gift given to her while at Palo. I had no idea they would do something like that. She really likes Mickey ear rings, so I'm sure I'll be in the right place for those! Do I arrange that through the shop and they make the arrangements with Palo? Thanks for the great ideas!!!

Oh, I love this idea. I will need to use this one for my DH. He will look at all sorts of things and never buy himself anything. I can't wait to surprise him with an awesome new watch. Our 15th wedding anniversary is a few weeks after the cruise so we figured our night at Palo covered it. How special- thank you thank you thank you!!!

I NEED some of those new hersheys kisses that have cheesecake flavour inside!!! We can't get them in Canada! I was down in the US yesterday and looked and couldn't find any. Apparently they are TDF and I really want some!

I live near Hershey and really had not even heard of them ,but if I find them, I'll get some for you. In fact, you have inspired me to drive up to Chocolate World where they have everything and see what is there. I think you can safely say adults and teenagers might find some Hershey things in their FEs!

If I don't see anyone on here wanting it, I will toss it away and next Xmas I can donate it all to the Christmas Tree Fund thingy.
My daughter loves HSM, but doesn't want the 'stuff'. She loves Zac Efron but wouldn't want a shirt with him on it, and godforbid no undies! She really does NOT need Zac down there at age 12! LMAO so hard!

She used to like Hannah, but finds Miley so 'ugh' and has lost all respect for the girl. We met her briefly once at an event and I wasn't impressed with her or her father, but thats another story! We are good friends with one of the actor's on that show and I have heard some stories from on set - and Meg has lost all respect for Miley and what she chooses to do with her fame. Its terrible.
Oh man this sounds like I am 'name dropping'. LOL. Honestly not trying to do that. LOL.

Anyhoo - we were without internet here for about 15 hours and now I have to go get caught up on my 'stuff'.

Lollipop'sMom - Bad news for you. Went to Hershey and they will have the kisses you want by the end of next week. I will call them next Wed. to see if they happened to get them a bit early. I am leaving Thursday to spend the night at MJ's so we can get that nice big plane on Friday. I've already started checking long term weather forecast. I get nutty when I have to fly in the winter for a cruise.

Mac - MJ has not written to you because he and his family are not home. They were suppose to ski but we have had a few days of really warm weather so they might be in slush instead.

I am sure I can find many many yummy things on the ship - just had heard so much about these, and actually its Meg that would go really nuts for them - she is a cheesecake fanatic!

We watched the planning dvd for the cruise last night and now Meg is even more excited (if that is possible). I shipped her off to a friend's house today so she can drive them nuts for the day!

I had a cut off of Dec 15th for fish extender, so that everyone could get organized. I know that 90% of everyone has bought/made their stuff and its really tight to add anyone at this point. I am really sorry. I am leaving in 4 days and don't have time right now to update the list and so on.

Hello everyone. Someone reported this thread regarding the fish extender list and since their email was returned as invalid I am posting here in response to that.

The moderators have nothing to do with this kind of situation. The deadlines for different activities like the FE are set to allow people to have time to get enough of the items made/ordered and packaged up. A month prior to the cruise is the usual deadline. Before the FEs became popular we did Tink gifts for our kids and asked the stateroom host to put the items out with the towel animals in the evening. Perhaps those who have joined in with the cruise group since the deadline has passed can do something like this and the kids will still enjoy finding the goodies in the FE or in the room.

Thank you, moderator, for your help. Just to help clarify... We have all been busy purchasing/making gifts for quite some time. Many of those on the list must leave to travel to the ship days before the actual sail date so even though the cruise is technically 12 days away for many of our FE it is really 3 or 4 days. To add anyone new now could really place some undue stress on some very nice people. I know I feel very sorry about this but please try, Baidoo, to understand the entire situation. I'm getting so excited! The countdown has arrived! The weather here has been in the high 70's, low 80's, let's hope it holds for the next couple of weeks.
I have looked at excursions until I am crosseyed! At least it will be easy to recognize me. LOL! There is so much to see & do that I don't want to miss anything!
Still no cheesecake kisses here either!
Don't forget your pillowcases or photomats to have signed by the characters.

Jeff: Yes, I didn't know that DCL would do that, but they offered and came up with the idea of presenting him the watch at Palo. He was definitely surprised! They do have Mickey earrrings in Treasure Ketch along with other Mickey jewelry. I bought myself a silver necklace with Mickey head/ears in the center and DCL logo on it. Whatever you purchase for her at Treasure Ketch, she'll be surprised at Palo.
