1/10/09- EARLY Roll Call! Who's coming?

Attention anyone going on the ship with me!
I NEED some of those new hersheys kisses that have cheesecake flavour inside!!! We can't get them in Canada! I was down in the US yesterday and looked and couldn't find any. Apparently they are TDF and I really want some!

If anyone sees them, can you grab a pack and bring them for me?? I am happy to pay for them!
Thanks!

Sounds good!! If I see some I will buy them for you.

Thanks!

Also there are still 4 people that are on the FE list that are unconfirmed with me. I have pm'd them again. If I don't hear from people by the 15th, I will have to take them off the list :(

I could not find a location for National in the area of the Port, did you call them directly?

Sorry- dzmania I checked our res. with our travel agent. She said since National, Alamo and Enterprise all merged it is a little different now We pick up from National in Daytona but turn in to Enterprise in CC then do the opposite for the return drive. The Enterprise desk is less than 5 min from the terminal and they said they would give my DH a ride no problem. When we get back we will just call from the ship while we are waiting to debark and if all goes as planned they will be waiting for us with our car when we get off. Hope that helps you out.

Thanks for all of the nice comments about the summer school post. I'm glad you liked it. It just feels so friendly here. I love it! Yes, as for mom, she finally got it but then had the same "you could be talking to a stalker fears". Oh well- you guys can stalk me anytime;)

As for our schedule
Key West- we are doing our own walking tour. Want to see Turtle Kraal= turtle rehab place, Hemingway's, Margaritaville, ocean discovery place (forgot the name-it's a recommended kids activity from Fodors) and now we have to find the mustard!

Grand Cayman- DH and I are doing the 2 tank in the morn while kids do the lab. We get back to the ship in perfect time for lunch then a stroll to beach with kids.

Cozumel- Not sure- am thinking about snuba for kids and found a place that will let DH and I dive alongside them but not sure DD will like it. We are going to practice in the local pool next week and see how it goes. Also looked at Nachi and Paradise. Chakanaab looks fun too- ughhh too many choices there!

CC- we have booked the all in one with the sting rays, snorkling, bikes and floats. After reading main board we went with the earliest time for the rays on CC rather than doing it in Grand Cayman. It sounded better for my littler one.

DH and I have Palo booked for GC night. I was worried we would miss
Twice Charmed but I think we will be o.k. Early show is at 6:00 and our res. is 7:30.
I am so excited!

Our schedule:

Key West - hop on the trolley train for the tour

Grand Cayman - no plans

Cozumel - Nachi Cocum

CC - relax!

We have Palo dinner reservations on Wednesday.

Hi all - I must admit to lurking on this exceptional cruise community. I have learned so much - thanks. My wife and daughter and I are doing our second cruise and were wondering about electric cars in Key West and a day room at the Westin in Grand Cayman. Any info appreciated.

We have not booked anything except Palo's (missed out our last cruise).

My daughter Emma (10) is counting down the days for us. Anyways, it is an understatement to say we are looking forward to this...

Cheers, Don

I didn't book any excursions at all. Just doing stuff on our own. I don't like being tied to a schedule too much.

Key West - SHOPPING SHOPPING AND SOME MORE SHOPPING! I love quaint little towns and so does Meg, so we will just wander and enjoy. I may rent a golf cart for a bit for some fun. I also really want to see the Cat Show and I know Meg will want to see that too.

GC - I just plan to take a taxi down to the beach, hang out for a while. I think we will also go to Margaritaville (sp?) and try that neat waterslide and pool. Then just look around and shop.

Coz - I am going to take Meg to Paradise Beach - that is right up her alley. I just hope the water is warm enough to swim and enjoy it.

CC - Nothing planned. Lay on the beach and hopefully water is warm enough to snorkel for a bit.

Basically I just really need to relax and after a week running around WDW I don't want to plan too much for the cruise. I just want to take it as it comes and relax a LOT!

Hey Don...looks like we posted around the same time. My daughter is 12, so the girls will meet at some point I am sure.

If you find anything out about the day room at the Westin I would love to know more! Please post.

As for the Key West cars, I remember seeing a website...
Here it is....
http://bellsouthpwp.net/t/r/troprent/
There are a few places but all about the same price.

You can look at some on youtube too. Apparently its really fun to watch and these cats just love this guy and do it all willingly. You have to figure a cat would just run off if he didnt want to perform tricks, but these cats love it!

Welcome Don and family!

We were on the Magic in October 2008 and our first stop was Key West. I don't remember seeing any electric cars! I'm sure they were there, but I will have to ask my DH. We did the trolley car tour, walked to the Little White House, found a place to have a marguerita, shopped at Kino's for sandals, and then back to the ship.

Check out cruise critic about a day pass at the Westin or any other resorts in Grand Cayman. On our October cruise, we did the seven mile beach excursion through DCL. We enjoyed that.

Have you and your wife considered brunch at Palo? This is a "Do Not Miss" event onboard, also.

Lollipop's Mom and Jan - thanks for the information - much appreciated. I will definitely check out the sites suggested, Don

Don,

Wasn't thinking clearly earlier this morning. Carla and I are going to Nachi Cocom at Grand Cayman. It's an all inclusive resort. If you google the resort name, you should be able to get more info. If not, let me know and I can get you to the website.

Jan

Yes! Sorry, again. We don't have plans when docked at Grand Cayman. If we do anything at GC, it may be 7 Mile Beach.

Thanks for correcting this addled brain!

Hi all!
If I get any more excited over the next few weeks than I am right now, I will need blood pressure medication!:rotfl: Tinkluvr thanks for posting the movies, one more thing off my to-do list. Kayla says  to Mac! We are exploring on our own at Key West, probably just enough for key lime pie and then we'll enjoy the ship in the afternoon. At Grand Cayman we're doing the pirate encounter- our little guy is so excited! Have reservations at Nachi Cocum for Cozumel and at CC doing the stingrays and snorkeling. We have main dining (we were waitlisted and got through!), our 2 year old would'nt make it through late dining. O.k., back to my "to do" and "to buy" lists for the cruise:rotfl: !

Kim- I'm glad I could help out with your list. Now if I can find the kisses for Liz I will be 2x's happy. :) Mac sends a  back and one to Margie too. What time is your sting ray encounter? We are booked for one too- I think we are at 11:00 but I'll have to check for sure. We are considering Nachi Cocum and now Mac wants to do that so she can play with your kids. We looked at Paradise Beach too last night on line. I am having a hard time deciding. I've read great and awful reviews for both places. Paradise has more toys for the kids but the food seems pricier. UGHHH just not sure. We were also thinking about a taxi out to San Gervasio (sp?) to see the Mayan Ruins on the Island. Has anyone done this? Then there is the snorkling excursion peacekeeper mentioned- we need 3 days in Cozumel!:sad2:

We have added the Catman to our list for Key West-thanks Liz ;) The aquarium looks cool too-though small. Hemingway's house is a must for me and DS. I think we will plan on a nice leisurely day and see what pops up.
