1,000 free Hilton HHonors points!

If you're a points collector there is currently an offer for 1,000 Hilton HHonors points if you log onto your account and either set up or change your password before March 25th. This was circulating about a month ago but there was a glitch with the system so everyone who did it a month ago didn't get the points. I just logged on this morning and the Hilton website was advertising it so I guess they got the offer back up and running.

Realistically, a minimum of 20,000 and that is being a bit optimistic -- at least at any property you would want to stay at and during a reasonable time of year. You could get something in Wyoming in February for 5,000 -- possibly -- since Hilton always sends me e-mails that say that 5,000 is the minimum for a free night.

If you have 30,000, you have a good chance at a good hotel in a good location at a good time of year.

This coming from a Hilton Gold Level member (and gold, while it gets me a few perks, is not that great).

From the website - I just updated mine - it is 6-8 weeks.

"Offer applicable for accounts that have been opened prior to 3/12/2015. Offer valid only for existing HHonors members that create a new password of at least 8 characters, contain at least 1 upper case letter, and contain at least 1 number or 1 special character between 3/12 and 3/25. A member may only achieve one bonus for updating their password during the offer period. Hilton HHonors reserves the right to discontinue the offer at any time without notice to members. Please allow six to eight weeks for Points to appear in your Hilton HHonors™ account."
