09/28/2002 Cruise

Good Morning all ...

Nothing much to contibute today.... Just passing thru and counting down until I am "outta here".

Exactly 5days & about ten minutes from now, WHEELS UP!!!
Couple of CRUNCH events and high intensity between now and then just to keep me honest ... then three weeks off ~ NEED IT!!

Elaine ~ You know, that if William brings the computer, you will eventually carry it!!! :p Airports now have DVD equipt rentals.
However, if you do bring the PC, you will have somewhere to download your pictures to... My plan is to bring my digital camera with memory sticks, CD-Rs and the PC. ONLY stipulation Chrystina has is NO WORK (Will See). Not sure that I want to carry the PC but it is so convenient to download pictures and reuse the memory stick~inexpensive too.
Anyhow, that's my plan ....

Driving to the MAGIC ... Be careful, be safe
Flying to the MAGIC ... Be patient, be careful, be safe

Super Sunday to all!!!!!!!!!!!

Dennis

Dennis you might check into getting a mindstor portable hard drive unit with memory stick adapter. I have a 5 gig model and you just stick the memory stick into an adapter and download the pictures to the hard drive unit. At the end of the day or when you get home, download the contents onto your computer and then burn cd's. Just a thought. Mike

PS Since I use compact flash with my canon d30 I use the compact flash adapter. Here is a link to them mindstor
Then just type in mindstor in the search box.

Hello all, this is going to be our first cruise ever as a family. We are going on 9/28/02 and are very excited. Family of three with one three year old little girl. I have been doing research for the cruise and that is how I found this website. Look forward to this cruise. We still haven't packed, I am still shopping & shopping & shopping. LOL Any new cruisers like me?:earsboy: :earsgirl: :sunny:

Welcome Suey70! Glad you found this board and the 9/28/02 thread! If you would like a copy of the "cruise list", just e-mail me at RellingTwin@aol.com
The list has info about the DIS cruisers, names, hometowns, children's ages, dinning ect. You will find a lot of helpful infomation on this board. If you have any questions you can't find the answer to, just ask on this thread! We will be happy to help.

Welcome Suey 70 and family.
Mary I can't remember which one is supposed to be the evil twin and which one is the good twin??? Your or Ave;) ;) ;) ;)
I have found some webcams that are at the oceankey resort and they show the bill fish pier! Here is a link webcam Mike

I'm not going to stress over not receiving my doc's, but I am stressing over the weather. Please tell me, we aren't going to be rocking and rolling! I don't want to miss CC either.

Oh, well I have to remind myself that's what happens when you sail during hurricane season.

Are all of you ready to be CRUISING? I am so jealous. But, my time will come. I had a dream the other night I'd been upgraded to a Cat 3.......LOL. I actually had to come down and log on, just to check and see. No such luck for me.

Sure wish that I was cruising with all of you......

don't forget the bugspray.....you know how bad those skeeters can be at the RAD! (feel I have to give you back that same tip you gave us last year)

smiles Patty

Vonda everything will be fine. Don't worry, be happy as they say in the islands.

Patty wish that you could have come with us it would have been grand. We will tell Shirley that you said Hi as we are wiping the homemade key lime pie off of our lippers:D :D

Congratulations on the win last night Cathy of your Penn State team!!:bounce: :bounce: Mike

Hi Suey70! Welcome to the DIS -- my favorite place on the internet.

I am very excited about cruising soon. But I am also strangely in a funk. I know I will shake it soon. Maybe if I start making a big sheet of activities for the cruise and filling in what I want to do when, that will help.

I've started my gathering. I still have to get the over the door shoe holder and a few other things. Got to check my kid airplane activites to see what I can add. Need to keep them busy on the plane. :D

Welcome Suey70 and family!! We to are first time cruisers, but feel like vets because of these boards. Glad you will be joining us.;)
Mike: I AM the good twin:p Of course Mary may diagree.:jester:
We got DH fitted for his tux yesterday, he is going to be looking so sharp! The salesman at Black Tie had taken a 7 day Eastern Disney Cruise and went on and on about how much they enjoyed it.
Just 8 more work days for me!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Welcome to Suey70 and everyone else I have missed recently. Packing mostly complete, great day to do it. Barbara worked like a dog today but we are more organized than ever. We always plan like it's the Normandy invasion. I was just thinking for those of us getting to the ship after 12:00 how are we going to know if they are going to accept the "Brunch Bunch" do you guys plan on giving them each family name or put it under one. I know I will want to make reservations at Palo's for dinner once we see our rotation and if they don't accept our group will try on our own just a thought! Penn State looked as good as I have seen them in a few years it was good to see that again. But the Titans put me out of our pool against Dallas today wish they played that way last week. Barbara say's Cher put's on a great show a really great show, the costumes are worth the ticket price. Have a great week I hope everyone stays healthy or gets well. Let's put another in the book. I really need this bad. See Ya! :earsgirl: :earsboy:

Thank You all for welcoming my family to Cruise Ears. We look forward to meeting you all! I hope the weather holds up too. We can only hope for the best right. Suzanne, Ernie, & Gianna :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Hello All,
Spent the day with my dad and mom. We all took a train ride with my uncle. It is a fun thing to do here. they had a mock western shoot out. HOt here again today. 100

I liked the suggestiobn for the bug spray. Just put it in the bag. also put the binoculars in. Small travel ones. I guess we will be bringing the computer.
Don't want to give away our little surprise, but don't worry about bringing bubbles:bounce: :bounce:
Getting our pins into shape. Traders, keepers, ones we want to buy etc. Still debating about wether to run over to disneyworld straight from the airport and then come to the Radisson.
Welcome to the new family!!
Still got to go and get Bill a jacket. Not sure about William yet. He is a little chunky around the middle and it is hard to get pants to fit him. He likes to wear elastic!!! Know of any dress pants with elastic LOL LOL.? Heck maybe I will even get some.LOL
Really Really Really, looking foreward to the cruise. Am even planning on the date for our next one. Have to have another to look foreward to before we leave the ship.
Have a magical week all. Will see you before you know it. Elaine

Hello to all. Welcome to the newbies!!:sunny: Well folks, it's 5 days till I see my honey and 12 days til we cruise. Lots to do in that little space of time. :( I am one of those that likes to leave the house clean when I go away for an extended period of time....so I have to that with DH at home!!!!:p I still have to go shopping, this week!!!:bounce: :bounce: Packing??? I haven't started yet as my honey isn't here to contribute his part to the process. He did call me today and asked about what shirts to bring with his suit, and what ties......here I am 4000 miles away and I am still dressing him. ;) LOL. Is that a occupational hazard for wives???

I have an interview with Madigan Army Hospital on Friday at 1:30 pm. It would be nice to land this job. It would put me closer to Alaska (without having to be there to shovel snow). Maybe Tinkerbell will smile on me this time.

The "LoveBugs" have arrived in lower Alabama.  They aren't real bad, YET!!! Did you know that when you wash your car they come off better if you use a piece of netting. You can get the stuff at JoAnn Fabrics real cheap. The stuff used to make the 50's underskirts. Doesn't mess up the paint job, but scrapes the bugs off.

It's raining here in Alabama, part of the hurricane. We need the rain, it keeps the peanut dust down (which is driving my allergies absolutely nuts)-no pun intended. hahaha Lets all blow pixie dust out toward the ocean and get rid of the hurricane weather. I for one really don't want to be on a pitching deck. I like rock n roll.but...................

Speaking of rock n roll.........Wiliam about something in that music department. I think Disney has some catchy rock n roll groups and music.

Be safe to all that are driving, flying, whatever to get to the cruise ship. I am looking forward to meeting all of you.

We be sailing, SOON!!!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Speaking of rocking and rolling. On our first cruise with Disney we hit the north end of Tropical Depression 12. On that Sunday night the boat pitched and rolled something fierce! The Captain came on the PA and apologized to everyone on the boat. It was hard on us cause we were literally hanging onto the bed that night and did not get much sleep. I have video pictures of the curtains coming away from the wall about 4-5 inches. The seas were 25 ft. and the wind was 50 knots. The wind was blowing sea spray over the bow of the boat. Funny, but I never did get scared of us sinking and it was fun. I love boats anyway.

Take care, Kathy

BetteMom...thanks for bringing the badge holders!!!Way Cool!

Patty...wish you were coming with us!

Suey....If you look back about 4 or 5 pages you will find a post outlining the DIS meeting we have planned. Maybe someone better at computer stuff can use the "quote" thingy and re post it???Anyone???

Chrystina...dressing DH from 400 miles away! Too funny! Thanks for the Love Bug warning. I guess we will put some cooking oil on the car before we leave SC.

Radisson Gang...As Patty said, please remember your bug spray. Last yeat the mosquitoes were so bad by the Raisson pool we had to cut or get together short:( . I have heard from this board that it is not as bad this year but I am still bringing the "Deep Woods Off"!

DS has anounced that he wants to be first in line to board the ship. OK by me!!! So I guess we will head over to the port around 10am on Sat.

George...I also wondered what would happen if they do not let us book the brunch for everyone. We could tell everyone at the Sail-a-way party, but that would be too late for some to book. I am thinking we could put a message on everyone voice mail to let them know one way or another. That way it would still be early enough to book a brunch. I wish they would allow us to book it prior to boarding or at least let us know if this will be allowed???
Maybe someone (TwinAve) could call and ask if this will be permitted???

I refuse to even LOOK at the weather channel for at least another week. Most of the weather that is out there now will be LONG gone by the time we sail. Maybe we will get a "mystery cruise" like the one a few years ago.I would be disapointed if we do not get to GC and Cozumel because I am really looking forward to the excursions we have planned, but I will NOT worry about things I have no control over.

DD has started Girl Scouts again, and at the 1st meeting the leader anounced that instead of a bunch of "small" trips we should plan one "big" one, like a cruise!!!!Guess who got the job of researching prices and cruiselines????Yup, me:cool:

An updated list is in your mail boxes. Please check your info for typos, errors ect.

Mary,

I was on the mystery cruise last year. We bypassed St. Martin and headed to Puerto Rico. We also visited Castaway Cay twice. It was fun, but one night of awful waters had me sick to my stomach. I'm not one to become seasick, but this was awful.
