09/28/2002 Cruise

Art's in the other room catching up on the last few pages.

Rae & Mary ... You aren't alone on the packing thingy. I'm getting out the suitcases this weekend!

GIRLS ... Would a velvet dress be OK for the formal night? Or not appropriate for cruise weather.

Dennis ... Too funny about the polar bear. I guess you heard the one about "it's in the male/mail".

Chrystina ... are you bringing any needlepoint to do while relaxing on the cruise? I have a pattern you may want ... I'll bring it with me.

HAS ANYONE HEARD ... Are they still being so strict with what you carry on at the port? Like small needlepoint sissors for instance?
Still able to bring soda and beer?

Mary ... Sounds like we have an entire boat full for Capt Marvin's. Did you get me e-mail to your AOL with the info on DonnaMD?
Just a thought, you may add the last name of the family in the column under their DIS name.

Hope everyone is having a MICKEY evening and take care...
have some sewing to get to.

Cathy

Welcome to Klein5! Glad to have you and your family aboard! And welcome to the DIS board!
My kids loved the clubs the first trip, but did not care for it the 2nd trip (8 and 9y/o then). They will try it again this time. I think it really depends on the kids.

We have booked one excurtion through DCL and 2 others on our own. Disney trips seem to be a little larger in size then those booked on your own.
Can't help you with the room info, sorry. Maybe someone else can? One of our group is in 6056 and another is in 7056!
Ask any question you want. We will be happy to help!

Cathy, I got the info and will be doing an update soon. Thanks!
A velvet dress sounds great!Yes, still allowed to bring beverages on board.

OK Gang! DIS List version 14.0 is in your mailboxes. Read it and weep!LOL!
Please e-mail me with any correction needed.

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to Klein5. Check Dave's web site for information about rooms www.dcltribute.com. Another good site for information is Barb and Tony www.castwayclub.com

Mary---Glad the computer is up and running. I just saw that you emailed us a new list.

Cathy--- I think the velvet dress would be fine for formal night.

Girls--- I can't believe you are starting to pack. In my younger years I was always packed and ready to go days ahead of time. Now I am a last minute person with list everywhere so I don't forget things. I will be packing on the Friday morning before we leave Friday evening. And of course I will just be the most pleasant person while doing itl. I do still have a bag that never got unpacked from the June cruise with all those odd and end things (sunscreen, extra film, bottle straps, etc). So does that count as starting to pack.

Dennis---That Alaska heat wave will get you prepared for the heat at the Tulcum ruins. I figure when we get back from that excursion we will all be at least 5 pounds lighter from sweating.

Hope everyone has a good night.

Nancy

Rellingtwin (Mary) & GoofyNut (Cathy) - Glad you liked my explanation of Polar Bears study. Truth is somebody apparently stumbled upon the fact while studying films of PB hunting strategy. Noticed the "kill" always comes form the left paw. Further research determined it to be true - LOTSA $$$$$!

Mary - Thanks for the help with Cpt Marvin's - Power - No S

Padisney (Nancy) - It really is hot here! 82 today!!! It's July! That is so incredibly unheard of in Anchorage. It's running about 15 degrees above normal. Summer has been staggeringly nice!
Weekend have been incredible - Golf? Fish? Golf? Fish? So after the Tulum excursion I will only be ten MORE pounds overweight? There's an incentive for another nighttime snack!!!

Dress code for men during "formal" night? Suit or Tuxedo? My suits fit but a rented Tuxedo is an "adventure". Ladies, please side with the suit ...

HH&GB to all

Still Lurking- Waaaaaaaa! I want to go with you guys!! I want my name on the Capt. Marvins List and the Palo List.... :(

not smiling
Patty

Patty....it's not too late!

Dennis...sorry, gotta go with the TUX! Since we are dinning together I have to tell you all the guys, including the 5y/o will be in Tuxs.
Dennis, I have added you and DW to our Capt. Marvins group.

Remember "lurkers" time is getting close. If you want to join the CRUISEARS send me your info!

Although my DH isn't going on this cruise, I have no problem with him being in shirt and tie for Formal. We both hate getting dressed up! Although I do think the tux makes a man look so ....Bond! James Bond! And that's hard to resist! (Right ladies!)

About the polar bears, glad to see our tax dollars are going for something other than mating habits of the Amazon tree frog.

Rae:rolleyes:

Got DS tux in the mail last night. It is SO cute! And fits him perfectly. Guess What? I'm at work right now. I found a way to log on with my office puter. Just hope management doesn't find out.;) Welcome to Klein5! Got to run and get some work done. Ave

Dear GoofyNut,

I do machine embroidery work for a business and a pleasure. I use to do hand embroidery until the Brother company came out with some really cool machines for home use. Power_Alaska use to do needlepoint....not me though. I hadn't planned to bring anything like that cause of the security reasons. Do plan on bring books to read by the pool (although not much reading gets done, just a lot of napping and Pina Coladas).

I will be leaving for St Louis, MO on Monday for a conference training class hosted for the Air National Guard. They are going to be teaching how to use the new software to keep our doctors credentialed. Staying at the Renaissance by the Airport. If there are any of you in that area we could try to get together for dinner one night. Sorta a pre-cruise social....don't want to expand the waistline this early, but I know St Louis has some pretty cool places to eat and shop. Any takers????

Have a great day...it's suppose to be in the high 90's here in Alabama today. Hope it warms the pool up for that night time swim I have been trying to fit in with my regular exercise routine at Curves. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc ;)

on Capt. Marvins when you return. I am seriously considering it for our cruise in November. Are you all doing the 2 hour or the 1/2 day?

smiles Patty

Welcome to the Klein Famiy or 5 ..... You may want to get signed up with RellingTwin and get on the list. That wasy your kids could start to see the other kids that are coming and in their age group.
makes it a lot easier to break the ice! Don't fret we are a helpful bunch ... just fire away at your questions. Ourselves, some excursions we booked thru Disney and other stuff we just winged it on our own. Depends on your level of confidence in a strange place I guess.

Dennis ... Art will be sporting a suit for formal night. He's nto the tux type person. All of our Disney Cruises I have seen guys in both suits and tux ... both looked fine (or should I say handsome)

Chrystina ... I'm trying to take some needlepoint/cross stitch BUT may have to opt for putting it in my checked luggage cause of the sissors and the security thingy. I usually take some stuff to read too just to inwind at the end of the day or read on deck 4 on sea days. Have a safe flight, on your upcoming work trips.

OMG It's August 1st, do you believe it .... IT'S GETTING CLOSER.

Check back later.....

Gosh, we were on page 2! How did THAT happen?

Bad news...we have another cancelation among us, Wendy and her family have cancelled:( :( :( :(
So sorry you had to cancel Wendy! I hope we have the chance to meet some other time.

Patty...we will give a full report on Capt. Marvins. We are doing the 1/2 day trip.I hope to also have information on a company called Eagle Ray in Cozumel.

TwinAve...cool you found a way to check the boards at work! Can't wait to see your DS in his TUX!

Got e-mail from my travel agent Cathy at DreamsUnlimited, I got a $200 discount for being a FL resident!:bounce: :bounce:
Sorry to hear Wendy is not cruising with us. :( Maybe she can meet up with us some other time.
Got to run, Big Employee Party tomorrow night, got to finish dying my hair! :p

Ave!

Most excellent on your $200!

Does that mean you are buying the first round?!;)

Rae

Talk about getting ready in advance -- Ave is drying her hair now for a party tomorrow! :D

Can someone fill me in on the Captain Marvin's excursion. I'm just too tired to dig through these pages and find the details. Older daughter had bad dreams last night and she kept waking me. I think I'm running on fumes now and will be in bed soon.

I will miss Wendy and her family on this trip. I've had the pleasure of meeting Wendy in the past. She is a sweetie!

Am I now the token DIS moderator on the cruise?

Yesterday my younger one (not yet 4) said to me "Mommy I'm so excited about going on the Disney Cruise!"

Cathy thanks for linking the reservation for Art and me for grand cayman. Been extremely busy with dad I will have to pm with details.

Beth go to Captain Marvins and it describes the excursions. The girls are doing the 10-1 stingray city tour with him. Mike

LOL....I think (no,... I KNOW)Ave is dyeing her hair (as in applying a color other then what nature gave you) , NOT drying her hair! She is not THAT anal!!!LOL!!!
Ave and I have both been compleatly grey haired since high school (we started getting grey in 4th grade) so we joke about it all the time...right Ave?The really cool part is if she tries out a new color, I get to see what it looks like "on me" before I do it!

Yes Beth you are now our only DIS moderator!

Ave...great news about the Florida resident rate! That will just about cover the Cozumel excursion.BTW..how is the Bruce CD?
Have fun at the party tomorrow. Tell the docs I said hello.

Mary maybe you could sneak down to pcb tomorrow and crash Ave's party:)
