09/28/2002 Cruise

Cathy hope that you, Art and Ashlee were not caught in any of the flooding there in PA. Tried to call you, but line was busy:D

I went to Kathy's grandmother shower at her nursery last night and took some photo's. Turned out pretty good even if I say so.

I will not hold you as I have some chores to do here. Looking forward to next week, and then to September and cruising with all of the nice people. Mike

The Space Shuttle is schuled to launch on Sunday Oct 6! We are thinking about staying at the Radisson for one night after the cruise to see it go. Has anyone seen a launch before?

Elaine...how ya doing?

134 days (19 weeks) to go!

Happy Friday All,

Have been keeping in touch with my seventeen year old all week. She went to disneyworld in my place! Weather hasn't been too bad and they all had a great time!

Good thing I didn't go, Received two shots of Rocefin(sp?) a very ugly, painful shot in the patoot. Had been running a fever, seems to have cleared anything that was happening up. I feel pretty good. Good Enough to go to disneyland with my son and mom on June 9th. Just for a few days.

Got the over the door hanger thing. Actually, I was thinking I would use it for shoes !! We had so many different pairs of shoes they were always laying around. Maybe I will get another one for the "extra"stuff.
Shall I sign up for the Stingray City before we go? WE didn't do any excursions on last trip. My husband is really into submarines and that kind of stuff. I think we will go down a day early and go to disneyworld to stock up on some pins.

Peagreenid, thanks for the maps. Got them yesterday in the mail.

Rykersmom, Are you going to be going on the cruise?

Have a great weekend all. Elaine

Aloha from Alaska

Alive & well - Temp is 34 degrees this morning in Anchorage - Not bad for the 17th of May - I read a note that there was a Space Shuttle launch scheduled for 06 Oct 2002. Is that true?

Dennis

Good to hear from you Dennis.

That is a GREAT idea Mary. We saw a Shuttle Launch back in 1997. It was really awesome. You just can't get the same perspective watching it on TV. That bright orange flame just gets all washed out on TV. We really lucked out too. After getting turned back at Kennedy Space center because we did not have a "pass", we stopped for gas. A total stranger that was also getting gas gave us a "pass". We got to go out on to the causeway at the Space Center. It was like a big tailgate party. They had loudspeakers wired up with mission control, so you knew exactly what was happening. It too for every to get out. WOW What traffic. But it was a really super experience.

I think you can get those passes over the Internet now. I don't know if the cost anything or how long in advance you have to get them. The only real problem is the launches many time do get delayed, so you may not get to see it anyway.

Dave

Good morning! How are ya'll today?

Better than the Resorts board I think. They are a nasty bunch of people! (not all of them, but a few of them are repeatedly nasty) Whew. I hate to see these select few jump someone's case who is new and just asking a question. Makes me want to go and kick someone's butt over there!

Anyway...(snort) getting over it now.

It was supposed to snow here today. Seems we will have to settle for partly cloudy and 40. Oh well. hehehe

Did I already tell ya'll that the first person looked at our house Thrusday night. Yeah, we were sitting at the funeral when they called. My house was a wreck. Babysitter, Annabelle and two friends. My babysitter is so awesome though. She did dishes while I fixed stuff that they had put away. KARAZY!

And turns out the people wanted a bigger lot. Oh well. It will be the next people, I am sure of it!

They are having a big Geocache-ing event in Traverse City today, so we may go over for that. It is a big meet in a park, and then there are 10 caches to find, and with each find you get a badge. It is either that or go furniture shopping.

Hope ya'll have a great weekend!

Several years ago when we were at wdw, we got to watch a shuttle launch from the banana river bridge area. The smoke was awesome. Kathy and I got a big kick out of watching it lift off as I am a rocket, submarine, geeky gadget kind of a guy.

Karen hope that you and your crew sell your house and enjoy the geocaching event today if you go. Weather here is going to be cool. Highs are only going to be in the 60's today with cool nights. Good sleeping weather with the windows open.

Going to look at the port canaveral cam today and see if they show the magic.

Dave my friend good to hear from you again. Please tell your lovely wife Ellen we said hello and give her a big hug from her Tennessee cruisetoberfest branch of the family.

Come on September:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Mike

Hi all! I've had a good time catching up on the reading! I'm a bit confused about the t-shirts. If my family wants one who do we need to give an order to? I think I missed something along the way.

We just lost our 10 year old German Shepherd. She died of kidney failure and it is breaking our hearts. I grew up in the country and we eventually stopped having dogs because they kept getting run over. I've never had a dog die of old age that I've had for so long. IT'S HARD!

Tiiigergirl..so sad for you. I know it is hard to lose a pet. If it's any consilation kidney failure is a pretty painless way to go. Give yourself time to greave(sp). It will take some time. And PLEASE do not listen to anyone who says "it's just a dog" ! Anyone who says that or anything like it has never known the joy an animal can bring into your life!

Sorry about your loss Tiiigergirl. Have had to put 3 of our pekes down within the last two months. All of them over 10 years old. Have a peke that is going to have to go to the vet in the am. I think her knee has popped out of joint. She is solid white with a black mask. Looks just like a little harp seal:)
Mike

I just had to post before going to bed tonight. I have reached a milestone.....1000 posts!!!!!
Boy oh boy...I REALLY need to get a life!!!!

Good night all, tomorrow will be 130 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations on the 1000 posts Mary. Stacey is going into the hospital Tomorrow night at midnight. So she will be in labor Tuesday.

Talked to Cathy tonight for just a few moments to make sure that they had not been washed away with all that rain in PA. Mike

Picked up Stacey's MIL from the airport this afternoon. Had lunch with all the inlaws and outlaws and had a great time. Stacey has to be at the hospital in 2 1/2 hrs. They are going to induce her labor at 6am.

Sure wish that Disney would put a digital photo kiosk so that people with digital cameras could print there photos on board. I guess that I can lug my laptop and burn cd's to give to people. Mike

PS I am too young and handsome to be a grandparent:D

Mike, Kathy, Stacey, Katie and family...wishing you all a fast easy delivery with a happy healthy baby! I will be thinking of you all on this special day. Please let us know how everyone is doing!

Hi Ho Hi Ho it's off to pick up Stacey's MIL and meet with the FIL and DH at the Cracker Barrel for breakfast while Stacey is getting ready for the work of the day. Nothing but ice chips till Katie gets here :( for her then I am going to get her whatever she wants to eat.:bounce: I will, of course have to send Mike 'cause I'll have to watch the baby and my baby who just had it. :D

We had a brief scare last night just after Stacey got hooked up to the moniter and Katie's heart beat was located high on her abdomen. We thought she had flipped again! "That girl is gonna be the next gold metal winner in the olympics." was my first thought but when they looked she was still head down. Thank goodness.

eshannon, hope the antibiotics continue to take care of the nasty ole bugs and you get better soon.

Tiiigergirl, I am so sorry about your loss. It took us forever to get over loosing our golden retriver and now the pekes are going one by one. It breaks my heart. I love my puppies.

Mary, your email made me cry this morning. Thanks. Mike said it was a good thing I don't wear makeup esp. here lately, I cry at the drop of a hat.:o I know it is not hormones anymore (I ain't got none :smooth: ) Lost it all at 40. But, I have emotions all over the place. I think I need some of those handy dandy little pills that smooth over emotions. Heck, as long as everybody can take it though, I guess I'll just cry.

Everyone, take care. Thanks for your well wishes thoughts and prayers. Kathy

Just checking in to wish Stacey a fast labor/delivery. Prayers and Pixie Dust to KATIE on her BIRTHDAY! Giving our best to:
Grand-PaPa, Mike
Grand-MaMa, Kathy
Mommy - Stacie
Daddy - Eric (Hope my memory is right!)

I'm sure PaPa will let us know asap --- won't you:bounce:

Check Back Later......

The Tuli's here are also checking in and sending our best wishes to Tennessee!!!!

Mike, being handsome and a grandparent is not an "either/or". You will soon be both!!!!

Kathy, as long as those tears are tears of joy, you can cry anytime around me!

Will be saying prayers throughout the day and will check back later this evening.

Happy Bithday to baby Katie. It is 6 am here so 8 am where you are. You must have her here now. Enjoy!!!

Feeling better. Thanks

Just listed our house. Decided 5000 square feet is too much work. Even though we have only been here a year. But we love our community. It is based on Celebration in Florida. Lots of local people refer to it as "Pleasantville" It's called Hidden Springs if you want to look at their web site. We are going to build another house out here. Think I am getting to old to start this again, but better now than in ten years time. My first "baby" is graduating from high school next Wednesday then off to college. She can't wait to leave and I want her to stay. Have always loved her but for a few years(14-16) didn't like her much!!! Now I not only like her again I enjoy her company! Whats up with all that? Sorry for the rambling, its just all this talk about babies makes me think about my own and their beginnings!

am really looking foreward to the summer vacation cuz then when it is over its time for the CRUISE!!!
Happy Day to all.
