HOWDY!!!!!!! We are back!!!!!!! (Boo ho!!!)
The trip was so awesome!!!!!!!
We spent the first weekend in Atlanta, Golfed, got manicure and pedicure, ate GREAT mexican food.
Then headed to WDW! Stayed at AKL! We had an even better room than last time! Animals like crazy right outside our room! We did each park two times, and MK three times. We went to the pool (which at the AKL is PHENOM!!!) every single day and sometimes at night too! Annabelle went crazy for the Mickey wake up call every morning. We saw lots of characters. We ate at Chef Mickey's one night, Ohanas one night, CIndy's in the morning, and then Primetime the last night. We had such a blast!
This was our first trip where Annabelle had an autograph book and wanted all the characters to sign it. We got the best video and pictures. And our first experience with my need to kick Aladdin's butt! (he was rude)
Annabelle pin traded for the first time. We got a free lanyard and pin for paying with American Express and so she had one to trade. We saw a lady with a "Doug Live" pin, and I was like, "Annabelle, look its Doug, do you want to trade? You can pick any pin you want." And instead of Doug, she picks some ugly Lion pin with no words on it. I was like, "No, don't you want this one?" But she insisted. So, she got to keep the lion. Ugh.
Annabelle had such a good time. She waited in lines so patiently. She never fussed or whined. Seriously. She is such a good park kid. (must be all that good training!)
It was a really relaxing trip for us, so we only shot 3 hours of video and 8 rolls of film.
The only downer was the heat. (We used to live in So. Florida, so we remember the incredible heat, but heat like this is unusual for April/May) It was 90's all week, and 104 (heat index) on Sat.
We got to see SIL and new baby! She is beautiful!
Favorte part: Seeing Annabelle really get excited about doing stuff and knowing what she wanted to do. Ex: See Jessie, go on Pooh ride, etc.
Ride home was stressful. While driving through Atlanta, we were in heavy traffic when just ahead of us was a five car accident involving a guy on a motorcycle. It seriously looked like Nascar does on tv with smoke and cars spinning. We were the last car ro stop as the guy from the motorcycle slid across three lanes of traffic and stopped right in front of us. Joe had already taken evasive action to slow down and pull to the shoulder to avoid hitting someone in front of us and to avoid getting hit from behind when we saw the guy slide across in front of us. So I got out to help him while Joe stayed with annabelle and called 911. It was very stressful. We left when the police arrived, as we didn't actually see the accident. We made good time home, but just were extra cautious.
We arrived home last night, unpacked, got up this morning, hid all the dirty clothes in the washing machine, had the realtors come through, and went to pick up Kona. And now we are all about to settle down for a nice long nap!
Glad to hear Katie didn't come while I was gone!
Glad to hear all surgeries went well.
Can't wait to hear from Patty and Lynette and get their trip reports!
Everyone have a great day!
