09/28/2002 Cruise

Hope Everyone has a nice holiday weekend. I don't have to work my regular job, but I am working 3-11 on Sat. at my "other" job. It is in an Assisted Living Facility. DH was off today, took the kids fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. They caught some spanish mackrel and blue fish. But poor me had to work.:( sniff, sniff. I guess I'll play Easter Bunny when I get home Sat. night. Got the candy and baskets ready. Ave

Do you have an Aversion to 2 Wives? I need a husband just like you! How do these women have all the luck. I have to DRAG my DH on that boat KICKING and SCREAMING all the way.

i'm so jealous............

Hummmmm, cruise or home improvments?????????????CRUISE:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: What a silly question he has.:D We did the home improvement several years ago and nearly got a divorce for it. The rooms have never been finished and I don't care. The kids are grown now and the next family can finish the rooms to suit thier needs. ;)

I love to sew and Mike is enjoying embroidering too. Forget the house. He does make a wonderful Creme Brulee and has tried to kill me with it. However, I ain't eating it anymore. I love to cruise too much to stay at home sick as a dog (Sorry Ashlee and any other four legged children). I am going to wait for the chocolate soufflee (sp?) and then I am ordering TWO this time!:bounce: Lord, they are good.

Hope everyone has a Happy (Hoppy) Easter. Take care, Kathy

Patty, it is all in the care and training of your DH. It begins on the first day of your marriage, and you NEVER let up. Otherwise is it hard to house train your DH.:D A rolled up newspaper with the rolling pin hidden cleverly in it will also work, sometimes. My mother was an avocate of the cast iron frying pan.;) My dad was a wonderful man and I loved him dearly. Mike is the same way.

All kidding aside,we both love being on the boat and being away from our every day cares. (Kids) And we treasure each and every day on that boat. I do need to try to stay up a little later but I love the sunrises off our verandah.

Speaking of cares, please send some pixie dust our way. DD2 is having problems with her blood pressure and the doctor told her that she didn't want to deliver the baby before 34 weeks and to rest more. 34 weeks is still way too early for Katie to get here.

Hello to everyone else and take care. Kathy.

Loads and Loads of Pixie dust your way........ I agree 34 weeks is a tad bit too early.......

I wish each and every one of you a Wonderful EASTER!

You know.....I've managed to get him to DL 5 times- WDW 2 and DCL 1 time. Each and every time he makes me promise him we won't go back for several years.......:smooth:
and each and every year I Yank him back there again. He always has a wonderful time.......but, he just isn't a vacation kind of guy.

sniff....sniff....sniff.... smiles Patty

Whew! DS and I took our 6 dogs to the school today for their rabies shots and this was the last day for the "special" on rabies shots. They do this every year and you can save quite a bit of money (for the cruise) when you have as many animals as we do. However, one of my dogs decided to make an editorial commet in my new car and the other dogs walked all in it before we could get them to where we were going. I was so mad at them that I promised the guilty one that that was his next to the last trip in Scarlet. His next ride would cost me $35.00 and a burial plot next to his mama. :( I just could not believe it! Mike came down to the school to bring cleaning stuff but we couldn't use it, no buckets and no water, so we just rode home with a stinking car and my DS gagging all the way. I promised him the rolling pin treatment if he upchucked in my car. :(

The fun began when we came back home to get the cat. Morris said there was no way he was going to go anywhere. It took all hands and the cook to get him into the carrier and then he scratched my son all to pieces. He is strong for a 17 year old tabby. Mike said the vet just scruffed him and hauled him out of the carrier and put him back in with out any problem. He got home with Morris and opened the door on the back porch and away the cat went never to be seen until dinner time. :D

We are going to go look at a recliner for Stacey and Katie. Stace is having all kinds of trouble sleeping cause Katie is laying on stuff and beating on her bladder all the time. She thinks this will help. So take care and thanks Patty for the pixie dust. I passed it on to Stacey. :D Kathy

OK I'm ready to email my info. I finally just opened up a hotmail account and hopefully that will work. My work email account was blocking 3/4 of all my incomming mail and definitely anything with an attachment. Now the problem is that I'm too lazy to go back and read who I'm supposed to email and what info I'm supposed to send. Can you please repost it for me.

Everyone congratulate us. We are new parents. We just adopted again. We now have an 11 month old chocolate lab named Kara. She is so sweet and great company while I'm home alone working.

I have Spring Fever so bad that we are heading off to DL in two weeks. I don't care if its Spring Break. Hopefully since Easter is early this year, most of the breakers will be over. If I'm being delusional (sp) then don't wake me.

Has anyone heard from Kelly lately?

Congratulations on your new baby! Does she need a bib?:D

I don't blame you, get away if you can! Those two, almost three days away from home two weeks ago were a blessing. I came home and went to work and got pulled the first night back and it was ok, some other things happened and I managed it and all h--- broke loose today when the dog messed in my car. ARRAGH! Just trying to keep the little mutts healthy and that is the thanks I get. Mike and I are still trying to get the smell out. Scarlet will never smell the same. I don't even know of a professional detailer I could take her to. So we are using lots of Simple Solution on the carpet and have scrubbed till my hands and his knees wore out. He told me to be sure and take pictures of him hung up in the back of Scarlett in case he got stuck. I promised I would:smooth: Is America's funniest home viedos still on? :D

Again, congrats on your new one. My sister has a chocolate lab about 4 months old and she is a sweetie. She just needs to be taught not to jump on people. Her name is Hershey. She has a two legged niece who is 2 and a nephew who is 4 months. All three are precious.

Take care, Kathy

Happy Easter! May all your chocolate bunnies be solid!

Kathy & Mike - Sorry about the mess in the car! FEBREEZE it!!!!!

We will be praying for Katie to stay in a little longer, and Stacey's blood pressure.

Tiggergirl - Congrats on the new addition. However, I would have GIVEN you my dog! hehehehe

Hope everyones day is filled with family and fun and candy!!!!

Hi all,

I noticed you had a fairly large thread going here and I thought I'd share something I developed for the thread for the cruise DW and I are going on (May 11, 2002 - Inaugural Western).

Enjoy,
- Jim

Papa, You are right 34 weeks is TOO early. If she has not already been told she should: avoid all salt, bedrest with feet elevated above her heart, lots of fluids (water). And report to L&D if any problems with vision, or headache. There is no substitute for the womb. Everyday can make a difference. My prayers are with her, and you. Please let us know how she is doing. Ave

Papa~ Try putting one of the refridgerator boxes (that open up on both sides) of baking soda in your car overnight (orlonger if it takes awhile to abosrb the odor!)

When we 1st bought our new Camry, I had driving priveliges to the company Christmas party ... the couple we took enjoyed quite abit of wine ... then, right as we got into the car she got sick ... VERY VERY sick in my brand new Camry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But, we tried many many things and this was one of the things we tried ... it worked to some extent!

Good Luck! I understand what you are going through! Atleast a dog doesn't know much better ... a 35 yr old woman should know ...

Happy Easter to everyone else!!!! :)

We have the stuff from the pet store called 'Simple Solution' it works by enzyme something or other. It 'eats' somehow (I think) the stuff that makes the smell. It works wonders on the cat pan, ferret pan and on carpet. (We don't have carpet but am hoping it works on the car carpet) I was told it worked wonders next door when the lady there who's husband was so sick and had hospice care in their home. They have carpet. We got her a bottle of Simple Solution and she washed all his bed linens and pj's in it and sprayed the carpet. The next time we went over to visit there was no smell at all. She was very grateful. We have used it for several years. The BIG mistake I made was turning on my outside air to try to blow out the smell. It got into the air ducts. I will try the baking soda in the car. I used to use that in my ashtray in an older car we had cause my parents smoked so much that it was awful to get into the car after taking them somewhere and that seemed to help. It ticked off my mom but at the time it was a matter of 'who cares?'. I miss her.

Well, back to the drawing board. Gotta fix banana pudding then fix the fruit salad while Mike takes care of the ham and the glaze. Yummy for my tummy.:bounce: My son in law is worried about that banana pudding. He just asked me if it was still warm. I haven't even got it made! We are going to eat around 4 p.m. My DD1 is about to kill him over it. ;)

Gotta get off. Thanks for the suggestions and I will try them out. Poor old Fuss Budget (my male peke who had the 'accident') looked so pitiful when I fussed at him. Did your friend get to ride in your Camry ever again?

Take care, hope the Bunny was good to everyone. Kathy

Well I sent off my email. I was so excited that I pushed send before I cleaned it up. Sorry Mary!

Well I'm home with a sore throat. I hope it gets better before our trip. I think I got it from Brandon. Nothing ever slows that child down. I'll think maybe he's got allergies or something until I catch whatever he's got. Arrrrgh.

Sorry I don't have any magic ideas for removing pet odors.

Hi EveryBunny ..... Hope you all had a nice Easter.

Tell Katie she just has to stay in there and bake some more....
Maybe the recliner will help your daughter hold things together, get some much needed sleep and relax ... :pinkbounc :pinkbounc Pixie Dust your Way!

About the pooch smell ... try spraying the ducts with Fabreeze!

;) :D :earseek:

Hope everyone had an enjoyable easter. The rain finally let up about 1pm cst.

Kathy is looking forward to the stingray excursion. A word of advice to anyone going. Do not place the squid that you feed them on you person. They will give you one heck of a hickey:D

I am trying to remember the url for the green turtle farm webcam there on Grand Cayman. Oh well it will come back to me. Too much nutrasweet I guess:D Mike

Well after some awesome steaks and WAY TOO many deviled eggs......I'm ready for hibernation. :D
We had a great SPRING day here. Just Beautiful. It was in the Upper 60's at least. DH loaded the camper on the truck this morning. We have decided that we are going to sell it, so spent part of the day cleaning it up.

Then we did the family movie- PANIC ROOM- I love the action suspense movies, but DH's poor legs and hands are always bruised where I grab them ;) It is very good, a must see.

No suggestions for DOGGIE DOO DETAILING! :( DH probably would have opted for the $35 payment..... He threatens us with TANNERMAN all the time. If we didn't have a couple K into him already......making him one of the most expensive worthless pets known to man....I'd probably be the first in line....(JK) I keep telling myself that he is going to get better......he's just wearing me out waiting!

Loads of chocolate and real eggs here of every color. Talk to you all soon.

smiles Patty

DH has decided to sell all his toys! ANyone interested in a 1966 Cobra, Red GT 40 or a (yuk) 1909 Chalmers? He is putting the adds in Hemmings this week. (more money for the cruise)LOL My little guy and I are traveling to Indianapolis in the next couple of weeks. He has had previous surgery on his head. (Bones fused too soon, so it couldn't grow properly) He is the brightest, cutest and most lovelable six year old I know, and has been through so much in his short years. We found out about this great neurologist in Indianapolis so even though it is aways away, we are taking him there. The surgeon who did his first surgery is now in research only. Anyway, sorry for such a long thread. We Try not to say too much in front of Patrick. Don't want him to worry. Cruise seem so far away! Wish it was next week. Have a great day all. Elaine
