09/28/2002 Cruise

Someone the other day said about the Cher concert. I just heard that she will be in Hershey, PA 10/15 @ the new Giant Center. Presales just started. Now I maybe interested since it is so close. When she was at Penn State a couple of years ago, someone said her concert was great. I know my DH won't go, so need to search around if one of my friends want to go. Smokey Robinson (now I'm showing my age) is in Harrisburg the day we come back from vacation and Norm really wanted to go to see him. Why does everything you want to do always come around the same time.

Beth--I loved the cruisears shirts over our dinner attire! ROLFLOL

Off to bed for me. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks until we leave for vacation. Hope my DS#1 remembers to bring the suitcase home with him this weekend when he comes home to visit with all his dirty laundry.

Chrystina ~ No thank you ... don't need anything extra ... Have resurrected my Happy XMoose Sweatshirt & still have my racquetball pants. Can wear those most days and my Yukon tee shirt & some fishing pants should do for formal night!!!

Mike/Bill/Gil/Art/William/Somebody ~ Help me!!! ~ Vacation ~ Comfort should reign supreme right? Tee shirts & bathing suits!!!

Only 10 work days left for me ~ Fairbanks trip in there but fortunately I don't need to make the run to Hawaii ~ phew.

Rainbow trout fishing on the Kenai this weekend ~ Last trip of the year. Already starting to snow in the higher elevations!!!

Beth ... Know what you mean about the 9-11 stories. I just seems to be opening old wounds all over again. I just hope we all learned the lesson that Life is prescious and treasure every last minute. I have always been big on RAF's and now I believe it's the least we can do for each other.

That is another one of the reasons that the long drive to FL may be worth it for us. Last year we were actually able to relax and refresh ... talk to each other without any chores to interupt us ... look around at this beautiful country ... be glad for what we have and enjoy meeting all of our DIS friends.

Now Hear This If you guys are flying, be safe, If you are driving be safe too!

Elaine ... I made up DIS Business Cards too for Art & I. That was fun exchanging them last year. AND, what the heck is a DOLE WHIP and where do you get them?

Has anyone noticed how many times we end up talking about food on this board! Here's one for you guys ... Do you hae Gravy Fries where you are? Love em!

If anyone wants one of the Hidden Mickey books and you have not let me know ... tell me now, in case I need to make more. I have a running list of those that have already asked.

Guess I should get some work done ... Darn!

Most of the time we travel very light and put our suitcases in the stateroom closet - this trip will be with my Mom though and I'm wondering:

Is there a place to store your luggage besides the closet? I seem to recall that our bed is on a platform and you can't put anything under it.

Hello to all!!! Short note before I go off to baby sit at the Guard unit this weekend. ( I did say babysit!! Some weekends are just that.....put out fires that the youngones try to start)

Dennis - The Happy X-Moose shirt is history........I cut that one up. The racquetball pants are soon to be history.....I have scissors in hand...........

GoofyNut - What are Gravy Fries???? Is that a southern dish???

William - I love the music. Watch out for Dennis!! His sister was a school teacher and he did time as a substitute teacher. He is always learning and trying to teach me something.

Elaine - Thanks for the idea of business cards....I will get right on that next week. Along with the dress I am making for my Mom and the steering wheel cover (that I have been going to make for my car, since 1999)....do the projects ever stop???

Rae - Dennis limits me to 2 suitcases....How did you get your DH to let you take more?? Need to know so I can use a new approach on my honey.

Padisneyfan - I love Cher....wish I could go with you to the concert. While in London I saw the play "Mama Mia" where they set up a play with all the ABBA music....absolutely FANTASTIC.

Beth E - ROFLOL - cruisears shirts over the formal wear.....I dare ya!!! Maybe we all should have a picture made with them on over our formal wear....to cool.

Chrystina ... Gravy Fries are French Fries with meat gravy (usually brown) over them. Really good! Guess it's a local favorite.

Love the thought of having Formal Wear with DIS Cruisears shirts over them ... too funny.

I'm going to try and see if I can get the attention of a Disney photographer to make some photos at our sail-away. Hey they'll do it for the $ I figure.

Just got Art some new golf shirts for the cruise. I figure they will do for some of the casual dinners and the price was right.

Am I the only one that is starting to drool just thinking of the neat food we have in store for us. I got some local Maple Syrup for the Mickey waffles and pancakes

Hello everyone,
First was music added to this board - or am I getting closer to heaven and hearing this awesome music to prepared me?
oops I put a smiley and it stopped - anyhow I love it.

Now I just wanted everyone to know that it all has been set - there will be officials, the local and ONLY newspaper, The Key West Citizen, with reporters and photographers - I will be asking them to not print it until the following weekend so it will have more coverage and as soon as it does print ON THE FRONT PAGE, send me emails with your address as to whom would like a copy and I will make sure you do get one - I really believe each and all that do attend will have a great time - then afterwards you can do your thing - Since Norm and I are beginning to feel the effects of the golden ages, will you each wear a name tags with your screen name?

Cathy: THANK YOU! for the article. That was very sweet! My husband and I both enjoyed it and neither of us were aware of the monument.

I can't believe how close it is getting. One of the benefits of trying to sell a house at the same time is that it really makes the time go faster.

DS#1 didn't bring the suitcase home, so I guess I just need to breakdown and buy one. Otherwise, it will be plastic bags.

Chrystina--Nothing like breaking the news to Dennis that you are throwing away his favorite clothes when you are miles apart. Nothing he can do about it, good plan otherwise you will never get rid of them.

In 3 weeks will be on the plane to Orlando.
