HI everybody.Usually say hi in the morning but had to go do the shopping today for the month.You know us retired folks on fixed income.
Well the bad weather has hit here now snow and freezing rain.

I live in Palm Beach Gardens which is just north of West Palm Beach and can I just tell you that I actually miss the cold and the snow. I miss seasons!!!! When we were on our cruise 3 weeks ago everyone was sooooo excited by the warmth and I was like this how it is in South FL everyday. It's niec but after a while you are like WOW 80's and sunny again where are the 60's...
LOL!!! I know how awful. I just would like to see snow again and not have to work out in a TV truck in it like I used to have to do in NC.

Eeyore77 - know what you mean about the snow and seasons. When I flew into SLC last week, I loved it so and it was absolutely beautiful. My friends thought I was crazy. I went walking down the street in their neighborhood with my coat and shorts on and after about 10 minutes, ran back to the house. ha ha - it was sooooo cold. But I loved it.


Today was crazy here - couldn't take my car in for tune up until 7:30 this mornign and didn't leave there until 9 am.

Then came home and waited for my TV stand to be delivered and the crazy people brought the TV also. Well, I have no place AT ALL for it until the stand was put together so they had to take it back to the delivery site, just to re-deliver it tomorrow.

My BIL had to come over the assemble the stand, as I could not do it. Too very heavy for me to lift anything that heavy. It is actually beautiful and I can't wait to have the TV come.

Next week Direct TV is coming to upgrade me to HD and that will be nice also. Just figured I might as well go the whole route while I am changing the TV. This one is 52" and the old TV was 60", so it is just a little smaller than the one that died on me.

Buying something like this is almost as bad as buying a car in many respects.

This one better last me for a very, very long time.

Hi all,

I miss the snow too. Not to shovel and scrape, but last year we went to Tahoe, I miss the skiing. You forget how much fun it is when you haven't done it in so many years.

I hope every one stays warm and safe. Not much planned here for the week end, just chores and super bowl party Sunday. Going to a two hour aerobathon in the morning- hope I can walk in the afternoon!!!!! The base had some kind of lock down this afternoon so couldn't get on for my 5pm step class tonight. So I just came home, cooked dinner, vaccuumed and started laundry----------boring.

We have been so busy at work since the layoffs and a girl who works for me was out sick for three days, so I didn't get much of my own stuff done this week.

Do we know when the chat will work again?

Well I am getting ready for a sunrise flight to wdw to see my favorite mouse. I may try an drive over to the port area to view the space shuttle launch later this week. It will be good to escape this wintry weather for a week.

Good morning everyone!

Joanne - not sure on chat yet. I know they are looking at a couple of different options (providers). I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything.

Yesterday was a crazy day. With so much snow we were short a number of people at work which meant most of my day was taking care of their stuff and not my own. Add to that a number of meetings (most of which got cancelled once we got to them because others didn't show up) and it was a long day. When I got home I grabbed a quick sandwhich and crashed for the night. My back was feeling it from the shoveling. I didn't even do my workout last night but WW says my 40 minutes out shoveling is the same as my 3-mile workout. Feeling much better this morning after a great nights sleep. No real plans for us. Staying in and staying warm. Most likely I'll try and work on my scrapbooks in addition to the usual laundry and stuff.

5 years of Member Cruises. The first fully dedicated DVC Member Cruise sailed 5 years ago today. I know some of us were on it. CarolAnn & Crissup, Cheryl and Todd and Mark and I. Anyone else? It was a lot of firsts for us. Our first Member Cruise, our first really successful DIS meet, the first time Mark did buttons (they were plastic pop together ones back then) and the first time we went to CC twice (it was CC, Nassau, and CC).

Yet the cruise was marked with sadness as well as the Columbia tragedy happened the day before. I still remember riding over to the port that Saturday listening to all the reports.

Hard to believe it has been 5 years already.

Some wonderful memories made on that trip. I will say they have gotten a lot better at taking the group picture since that first one. Thank you Matt if you are reading.

Well we has the snow the sleet and the freezing rain,and finally this morning the sun is out . Im waiting for my turn in the shower. Woman they take forever.
I hope before the morning is over and we have to go to a basketball game Nanc and I can get a walk in.
Mary how do you get permission to put pictures in ones signature. I checked the permissions and said no. will have to check out those cruise pictures.

Dan: to put a pic in your signature you have to have a host site, like Photobucket or whatever site you wish.

Open up a Photobucket account and then download pics from your computer or whereever they are and then cc and paste them into your signature profile. Go into your "user CP" on the upper left portion of your screen

at the beginning of the url you must have

but that should be in the Photobucket pic already once you download it.

Just booked a quick trip to WDW for Feb 11-13. All DVC was booked. That seems impossilbe for resorts of that size. We are staying at Port Orleans. We haven't stayed there in years (at least since we joined DVC in 2002).

Have to take the dogs to the groomers. What fun! We also have to shovel the walk and the drive today! At least it is good exercise.

Are you going to be alone?? What time would you be leaving?

I think if it is past 6:30 pm, you should not leave until early morning.

I don't like driving at night, especially and foremost, if I am alone.

Of course, the Turnpike is straight through but still, should something happen, I would not want to chance it.
