Here's hoping it is a great year for everyone!

We ended up with a white New Years as we got snow starting yesterday afternoon. Only main thing on the agenda for today is watching the Rose parade. I love what they do with all the flowers, seeds, etc. on those floats. Then later we'll have our traditional New Years Surf/Turf dinner. This goes back many many years for me as my Mom used to get a gift from her boss every year of filets and lobster tails and that would be our New Years dinner. Mark and I still order from the same place.

I'm not one for resolutions but I have been trying for the last 5 months to work on getting more healthy. I did pretty good at losing some weight but have a long way to go so I've entered the Biggest Loser challenge here on the DIS to help give me some modivation.

We plan on putting up a new cabinet and microwave in the kitchen today. Wish us luck. It seems that everything takes more time and money than planned.

We aren't very motoviated to put up the cabinets. It's better to do those things when I'm not home anyway. I think Amanda is going to wait until Saturday when I work 12-8. That way I won't be in the way. I tend to get really anxious when things are bing done around the house.

I'm watching it too. One pound = 2.2 kilos. So for simplicity I've just been doubling what I see on the show.

They are starting a biggest loser challenge on the WISH boards with the first day being today if you want to join in.

Mary and Annette - I should join in also - guess I need some motivation and right now don't have it. guess I am just glad to be where I am now - the kilograms would confuse me also.

I love to watch the Biggest Loser, it's really motivating and inspiring. I joined the BL group on the Wish board for this year. I need to lose some lbs I put on when doing the house remodel.

We are doing a kitchen remodel too. We bought all brand new cabinets for the kitchen, got a dishwasher for Xmas and a new stove on clearance from Home Depot so that is going to be our project for a while. We bought unfinished oak cabinets so my project before I go back to school is to stain them all.

We still have a housefull and don't now how long that will last so that is going to make staining the cabinets and working out a little bit difficult. My husband's brother, his wife and their 2 kids are here and have been here since Saturday. I honestly don't know when they are leaving either - lol! I don't mind, it just caught me by surprise.

It sounds like you have got your hands full!! When do your kids go back to school? We have had our nieces nephews for a few days during their break and that was fun. They are 15 & 16 and we just don't see enough of them anymore. They grow up so fast. We have done our jobs and infected them with the Disney bug though.

HI ALL and Happy New Year.
For the past three weeks haven,t been feeling well .I had a bad head cold for two weeks starting around the 15th of December and Nanc had a sore throat.
she got better but mine turned into a sinus infection. So for the past few days I have been on 500MGS of Amoxcillian will not it for fiveteen days. Today is the first day I have felt normal since before Christmas.
We all had a great Christmas with the family. We spent most of the day at Nancy's folks who are both 87 and still going.
As I set here looking out the window its snowing. We have had about 18 inches in the past five days.
I hope everyone has a very happy up coming year.

Good morning everyone! Back to work for me. I'll be leaving a little early as the wake for my Mom's good friend is this afternoon/evening. I want to get there early as I know most of her other friends will be there in the afternoon as they don't like driving after dark.
