Thanks Kathy and Mary! Lots of good information to ponder.

Well we are all packed up and ready to go. Tonight is the last night in our beds for a couple of weeks:cool1::cool1:. Though I would jump in and say we will see you all a week from today. I will probably be no for a few minutse in the morning before we leave for Boston.
Mary hope you got all your water cleaned up. That was a bummer.

Have a safe trip. We will see you at the pool!!!!!

Did you think about maybe getting on the internet and using Instant Messenger to contact the family? I have done that in the past and it worked very well for us.

You may or may not have cell phone service while at sea. And depending upon where we are, you may be making international calling. I would give Verizon a call. When I had my Verizon phone, I lost service as we pulled out shortly after sailaway. I did have service while in the Bahamas, but don't recall if I ever did call home from there - don't think I did since I was IM'ing them anyway.

In some magical land far, far away, I don't care if the phone don't work for four days!!!:rotfl: OK,OK, stop laughing at me. But in reality with parents who have health issues, ours are always on. We activated our phones for international use, in case of a crisis at home. If you are leaving people home, you might want to call your carrier to see what the rates are and ask if you have do something special to your service because you are leaving the United States. This can usually be done just for the month you are gone.

We call home as we pull away from the pier for a final worrywart check of both parents, and then hang up.

The rules to call us from Mon.-Wed. are as follows: death, blood shead, major surgury. It's not that we don't love the family and friends, but we are running away from you for a vacation. I think they can last 3 1/2 days without constant contact. We value (and pay a lot) for our private time here on the ship and the island; it's the only time we really get to spend with each other, and that is sacred to us.

Otherwise most people know we are away and don't call until we get home. WE call the parents everyday, just to check up on them and ease our minds.

I don't know how the IMing works, since we don't do that

Vikki and I both have IPhones. I turned on voice only for my phone. My parents do not text. Heck, we just gave my mom a digital camera and she is holing it like, what do I do with this??:rotfl2: The AT&T plan for voice is $2.25 ish, for Castaway Cay and 2.35 ish for Disney Wonder.

My Blackberry uses T-Mobile. Last year in the Mediteranian, I could get service when we were in port, but the onboard cellular service didn't seem to work for me. It would show that I had service, but would then keep dropping it and renegotiating, so it was unusable. As soon as we'd head for port though, the service would be rock solid. So, I'm not sure why the cellular repeater service on board the Magic didn't work, didn't really spend any time looking into it either. I usually just used my cell phone while in port, then switched it off again after making whatever phone calls I needed to make and sending and receiving all my emails.

Big thing to remember if you have a smartphone is to switch off the email while you're out of the country. While you may not be using the phone, it may still be running out every 10 minutes to check for new email and that runs up a bill PDQ.

Good morning Member Cruisers
We sail in 7 days!

Yes ladies and gentlemen - only 1 week to go!

Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Tip Of The Day

A small investment can help keep you organized. Bringing a small notebook always helps me stay organized on a trip.

Before we go I put budget notes in it as well as anything I make sure I want to remember.

During the trip I use it to make notes on what is happening. Usually just take a few minutes in the evening and write down what happened that day.

Of course Mark and I are driving down this time so I'll also put gas receipts in it so we can figure out our gas mileage.

Also great for keeping track of purchases. Especially helpful if you are visiting multiple islands to help with your customs paperwork at the end of the cruise. Not as important for this cruise but still a helpful hint
.

PDFG and all our friends who need it.

Good morning everyone! Sump pump has been going all night long which is a good thing. The carpet is still damp but doesn't seem to be getting much wetter. Looks like we might be in for another day of rain. Then the sun is due out for the rest of the week. Let's hope so.

Mark needs to go into work today and I'll be working on laundry, paying bills and cleaning.

We are both more than ready for this vacation!

I can not belive that we are less than one week away. I remember when we were counting down to 100 days. Now we are 160 hours away from four days of bliss. :hourglass. Today is packing day. Has anyone used the washing machines for the DVC studio's. We have used the machines in the one and two bedrooms before.

I BELIEVE THE STUDIOS DO NOT HAVE WASHER AND DRYER

I BELIEVE THE STUDIOS DO NOT HAVE WASHER AND DRYER

The studios don't have a washer & dryer in the room, but they are available at a location in the resort. At BWV, I think they're near the pool.

Good morning all,

I am so excited that next Sunday it will be us.

I just leave the cruise bag in the car. I will do laundry when we get home.

Not much going on today but cleaning and packing.

Happy Sunday all.

I BELIEVE THE STUDIOS DO NOT HAVE WASHER AND DRYER

SSR at each pool.
BCV 2nd floor Only 2 sets but are front loaders
OKW at each pool
All of these have soap and fabric softener available however it is cheaper to go to walmart and get the Tide packets in the travel section

On the ship make sure your have quarters because there isn't a change machine in the laundry.

We were lying in bed this morning talking about a week from today when we will be at Spoodles. I can't believe it is only a week from today! I am so excited and quite excited to meet all of you too! Here's wishing safe travels for all heading down during the week. I will be praying for travel mercies for all of us!

One week from right now we should be arriving at the port!!!:boat:
