Thanks Mark! We have Verizon. Does anyone know off hand if they support the ship to shore calls?? Figured I would ask before calling! I figure it will cost a lot but we have never left the boys for this long so we need to call and check in and say good night. :lovestruc

Did you think about maybe getting on the internet and using Instant Messenger to contact the family? I have done that in the past and it worked very well for us.

You may or may not have cell phone service while at sea. And depending upon where we are, you may be making international calling. I would give Verizon a call. When I had my Verizon phone, I lost service as we pulled out shortly after sailaway. I did have service while in the Bahamas, but don't recall if I ever did call home from there - don't think I did since I was IM'ing them anyway.

Thanks Mark - maybe we will pick up some of the lotion. I guess we will take the meat tendorizer and vinegar just in case there are jelly fish. They don't bother me (I am in the 1 in how ever many for just about everything) but just as they bother most people, they do bother Mack. I'd rather have it and not need it than not be able to get it. If he were to get stung and I didn't have it, I'd feel bad.

Good Monrning!

One week to DIS Meet Day!

OMG the chat was so much fun last night! I could hardly sleep, I was so revved up about the cruise!

For those that missed it, Mary & Mary are having their gas and hotel paid by Mark's boss, as a bonus! Isn't that amazing?

:laundy: and packing today, since the the clothes I wear on the cruise ar not the ones I wear to work, unfortunately :lmao:

Mary and Mark...Thats great, with the cost of gas going up thats a big help!...I bet the $$ you save will get you alot of Konk coolers!

As far as packing goes, I did that yesterday for myself...After the funeral, I had the afternoon free...and figured why not! The kids have been packed for 3 weeks, and Tim's the only one left. I think I may have to pack for him...he doesnt have a day off til the day we leave!

Well, Today is my first full (staying the whole time we have patients scheduled) day back to work this week...We should be finished by 1:30. I keep thinking today is monday because usually Sunday is the only day Tim and I have off together...But we had the funeral yesterday, so we spent the afternoon together, and it threw me off.

Not much going on this weekend...Krystina has a girl scout parade on Sunday, and her troop is leading it because they sold the most cookies out of the area. Considering there are only 7 girls in the troop, I think thats pretty amazing! Otherwise we are just cleaning and getting ready for the trip!

This is really sad that the official Member Cruise site still has this on the front page:

S.S. Member Cruise 2008 may seem far away, but there are some things you should do in advance to ensure you have a magical voyage.

DVC - I don't consider a week far away! :lmao: I really hope they aren't paying attention to the website because they are paying so much attention to all the other details. I really think the communication for this cruise has been lacking.:sad1:

Good Morning All!

Last nights chat was alot of fun, and I really can't wait to personally meet everyone. It seems not that long ago we were waiting to call in for the cruise.
Time really does slip by.

I really thought they would do a better job on the website. It is almost pointless to have it if it doesnt stay updated and get us information! I would think that with a week to go, we would know mroe about the guest speakers and stuff. At least more hints to get us excited.

Well we have good news and bad news.

The good news is we are done packing. Garment bag, cruise bag and road bag are all packed and ready to go.

The bad news - we have water in the basement. :scared1: Nothing compared to the devastation down in TX but we woke up this morning to heavy rains. Our back yard is under water (I'm sure Mark will post a picture later) and water started seeping in from our escape window down in the furnace room. Mark is taking care of it and as I said it isn't nearly as bad as it could be but not the stress we need right before we leave. On the bright side better now than when we are gone.

Mary- sorry about your basement. Stinks when you are trying to get ready for a vacation and then something happens. You are right though, at least it happened this week instead of next:eek: Good luck getting it all taken care of!
And you are packed???? WOW! I havent even started goin through my closet to see what we might need. With my up and down weight (more up this year than down) I am not sure what fits! Guess I better get started!;)

Well, hopefully they've been spending all of that time on making wonderful gifts and things for us while we're sailing.:thumbsup2

Packing was easy. I've been playing with my spreadsheet for weeks now. First I start with all the days, what is happening on that day and what we are going to wear. Then on another tab I list all the items that need to be packed and what piece they need to go in. On this one I have a space next to each to check off as it is packed. Then finally is a listing of all the bags that need to go in the car with check-offs. Believe it or not we once went away for the weekend and left our notebook at home. Not a biggie but we had intended to bring it and we each thought the other had put it in the car. Now I make a checklist.

What can I say I'm a bit of an organizer.

As for my weight it has stayed up so I know what we have packed will fit. We'll be in Polo shirts most nights and a warning to everyone who doesn't know us...we usually match. I know some people get a little freaked by that so you have been warned. :rotfl:

TRUE!:goodvibes I do think they will do a great job as always!
I just remember getting excited that the cruise had its own website, but the info hasnt been that good, thats all!;)

I love matching! Sometimes I can get dh to do it, but not always!:goodvibes
I have a spreadsheet too! LOL! I guess us organized people stick together;)

I read somewhere online that they dont serve lunch at Serenity Bay anymore...is that true? I cannot find the thread, but it said everyone had to go to Cookies. Just thought that is a lot to do if you are hanging on the adult beach side. We usually hang out by the Heads Up Bar (my favorite) but I was curious.

Oh Mary, I'm so sorry about your basement! You really are lucky it happened now and not next week.

I just went through that with Hanna last week and it was no fun. My good news is that most of the stuff that got damaged needed to get thrown out anyway. We had heavy rain last night and I came home to find that my association had FINALLY fixed my clogged gutter that was causing the problem in the 1st place. So no water this time!

I have been simultaneously getting stuff out to pack and cleaning, so I'm opening and closing closets. One of my kitties (Nicky, the not too bright one) went missing for about an hour and just jumped out when I opened the closet. :scared1: Sasha got the brains and Nicky got the beauty!

I hadn't heard that. We had lunch there in April. :confused3 Guess we'll have to wait and see.

In May they were still serving lunch there, the line was all the way to the bathrooms near the tram stop. (I'd never seen the line that long)

You said it Mary... I told them that in person when I went in May
