All this talk of stress and bosses reminds me of about 7 years ago. The VP of our company came in my office one day and was asking about my upcoming vacation. This is the same VP who had canceled vacations for an implementation team just 6 months before. He would look at my calendar on the wall and say "when are you going again?". I looked him right in the eye and said "Jack if you are going to cancel my vacation let me know today so I can give you a full 2 weeks notice!" He turned white and walked out. It wasn't until about 3 hours later that I found my boss had given her two week notice and her first day gone would be my first day of vacation. He let me go and I'm still at the same company.

Started putting things in suitcases today - am using your idea of the 2.5 gal bags. So far it's working quite well. I'm surprised that being the type of organized person I usually am I didn't think of it before. Maybe I thought the bags would take up too much space. It will make packing & unpacking & repacking much easier! Thanks for the tip!

Actually no - he retired in 2004. The thing is he was a very good friend of mine and treated me very well which is why I could give him the attitude I did. I think he just wasn't expecting to hear that from me right after Donna gave notice. It all worked out.

I would love to do a spa treatment, but I don't want to miss a speaker or time on CC! I need a longer cruise!

When I get the Navigators I may try and get something last minute. I'm afarid if I book something, that will of course be the time of a special event. It never fails.

One can only wonder where the Wonder goes on a 'sea' day - not that we will know where we are anyway, plus many of us will be too busy sunning or beautifying ourselves in the spa . I'm looking forward to the aromatherapy showers and steam room in the Rainforest!

I'm guessing wherever the Wonder goes, it will be at a slow pace, considering the price of fuel these days!

Aren't those stone chairs the best. I lost so many hours parked in there last time. It's worth the door charge.

So am I and so will I! Providing 5 weeks worth of training to 42 Emerging Market people in 3 weeks is STRESSFUL! They leave on the 19th, my class graudates on the 19th and I leave on the 19th!

Nice! My boss is actually pretty cool. Her nor her boss would every really make me cancel but will stress me TONS before we go. Like working on Labor Day.

I am cutting my stress. I decided today that I am changing my lesson plans for next week to make so my students do not turn in any writing assignments right before I leave. That way I won't have tons of grading hanging over my head!!!!! If anything I'll give quizzes that Friday so I can grade all of them during my planning periods and be done with it! I am making things easy for my subs, but I will have grading when I get back after they turn in their sub packets.

You know the business, Labor Day is just another regular work day or more specific, a day off for managers! You want a stressful day, you should be in our access center on Election Day. It's the only day that nobody is allowed to take a vacation.
