See ya real soon,

Well, I know that this won't matter to some, but the day we sail is the also the day of the very last regular season game ever to be played at Yankee Stadium. Since the post season prospects aren't looking real good right now, 9/21 could very well be the very last game ever played at the Big Ballpark in the Bronx. It is being shown on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball, but I don't know if I can even stand to watch it. :sad1:

Congratulations Dave!!! pirate:

I was in a stupid meeting and couldn't play :sad1:

You know, I just figured out your screen name - Mass. NASCAR Fan. Duh.

And here I thought it was Man A Scar (as in Lion King) Fan - :rotfl2: I had it all wrong!

Feeling really stupid now having posted what I really thought manascarfan stood for after reading the posts that commented on it. I am not blonde and not stupid - I just figured this being a Disney board, perhaps you really did liek the antogonist in Lion King. Oh well! I guess it is also partly the English teacher in me!

 It is hard to see places we love be replaced. That's how I was with the Old Chicago Stadium where the Blackhawks played. The United Center just isn't the same.

PDFG and all our friends who need it especially the Yankee Fans who will miss the old Stadium.

It's definitely not us, but who is coming from the farthest distance away? Do we have anyone from California on here?

Tina-
 Many thoughts and prayers with you and your family. I know the pain.

Dan - for you too, hope your grandson makes a full recovery.

As for me, I had a bright day today as my docs arrived :) It was a rough weekend for me. We have the visitation on Sunday and the funeral yesterday. It was cold and rainy. I had a really hard time at the visitation on Sunday. I lived with my grandparents when I was really little, before I started school because my mom ended up getting divorced and had to work a lot. So my grandpa was like my second dad. We were quite close. I lost my grandma 7 years ago, actually found her passed and had to call 911 and attempt to perform CPR.

My son shared a love of cars with my grandpa (his great-grandpa) and they talked about them (as best as you can have a conversation with a 7 year old about cars) and my grandpa would give him his old car magazines when he was finished with them.

Well at the visitation, my son didn't want to see him right away and I let him take his time and go when he felt ready. I wasn't paying attention and he had gone up there with one of his new Hot Wheels he had just got and wanted to show his grandpa his car. I pretty much lost it at that point. I also couldn't hold it in much more when they played taps at the funeral either. He was a WW2 vet in the Navy on a sub in the Pacific off of Asia.

So I had a rough weekend and had to get back to real life today and go to school.

I will be packing this weekend so hopefully that will do me some good. I am just thankful he didn't pass when I was on the cruise and not be reachable. I just know he is in a better place, no longer sick and no longer in pain.

Hope everyone else is doing well. I see there has been a lot of chatter. I think I had to catch up on a million posts :)

Excellent photos especially of the Members Ball. We were way up on deck 5. Do you mind if I scraplift some for when I finally do my scrapbook?

I don't know what size they download, but if you want something bigger, let me know.

Today I finally got my own office at work!!! I know big deal right, but I have been at the college since April and I have just now finally gotten a desk. I was thrilled. Now it looks like a 3 year old moved in with all my Disney and Eeyore stuff all over it.

Right in front of me on the computer I put a small model of a DCL ship right where I can look at it. All day long I can look at it and think just a few more days and I will be on that ship..... Ah it makes for happy thoughts....

Dan, I am really sorry about your grandson and hope he is able to play with the special shoe. Sports aren't everything, but an unnatural end to a season or to your child's (or grandchild's) sporting career is not what anyone wants. We have a student at school whose family I am particularly close to, and he was hurt in a football game last week. The first doctor said his MCL and ACL were torn. The second said it was his miniscus - still season ending. I spoke to him and his mom to let them know I understood how hard it is when the season (his senior year) is ended for you rather than by choice or it's end. Today's doctor read the MRI and said the miniscus is bruised as is the bone, but nothing is torn - season saved! I do hope your grandson gets to play again and enjoys every minute of it!

Thank you so much. I think what is up is just fine but if they don't work I'll let you know. :)

Took me awhile to catch up on posts so I'm just getting around to say thanks for posting all those pictures of 2007 cruise. We have many of the same shots in our album. They were great! Also welcome to our tablemates!

I think Maine is pretty far. I think we have some from Michigan, but I guess it depends on how far north you are and how far west they are. I don't remember anyone from further west than Michigan, but I may just not be remembering.

I would have loved to see the Pats play against Miami, but I'm a little nervous with Brady out for the season.:confused3

Dave

I'd love to see the Sox & Rays in Tampa next week. I checked on line for tix & could get some for $55 each but we won't have a car. Where in Mass are you? I used to live there.

How about Holly & Colin from Alberta, Canada?
