What grade is your daughter in now?? I teach 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade special eduaction.

She's in 2nd grade GENERAL ED!!!! WOO-HOO!!!! She's been in a self contained special needs classroom for the last two years and also in a special needs pre-school. She's doing really good in the gen-ed class, even though she's only at a kindergarten level since she didn't get ANY education in the special needs class. I'm SO upset that I didn't fight harder (sooner) to get her into a general ed class. And when I did, I probably should have put her in 1st grade again, but we're doing everything we can to get her caught up, and I truly believe she will get caught up.

I know! I do everything around here too!!

Yes, of course you do! (too bad there's not a smiley for sarcasm that I could insert here!)

Between me and my husband...we teach 1st-5th grades. He teaches 4th and 5th split class. We got it all covered over here.

I've heard that the special education programs are MUCH better in Illinois. They aren't worth diddly squat here in Indiana. They find all the loopholes they can in the Article 7 Law. It's such a joke!
