Good Morning Everyone!
Happy Monday! And for those of you who have the holiday off - Happy Columbus Day! Our schools are closed so DS went out to work at the camp with DH on this absolutely lovely day here in Jersey!
Wow, you guys have reallllly been chatty and I'm not sure that I can catch up on all of the posts! I spent the weekend first on Friday and Saturday getting ready for and cooking all the food for a beef and beer that folks were having to try to raise money for some new camping equipment for our boy scout troop. It was a fun evening and everything on my end worked out great, especially with the help of DBFF Gail - my "wingman". But we just didn't have enough people there to really make it as profitable as it could have been. But we didn't lose money - so it's all good! The boys will benefit in the end and that's what's important.
Then yesterday morning it took me awhile to find my kitchen under all of the mess I left from Saturday! After that I had to search the closet for something to wear to a wedding and get DH's suit ready because he worked the morning at camp and was coming home just before we had to leave.
Best laid plans!! He was late getting home because as things would have it, he also had a wedding going on at out the camp and just as he was getting ready to leave, the ice machine went down and the convection ovens wouldn't light!! The caterer was pretty calm. They sent someone out for the extra ice and started up some other warming trays as backups, and told him they'd be fine. So we finally did make it to the wedding just in time.
The wedding was of my friend Shirley's daughter Ashley. She looked fantastic - I know all brides do, but she is a stunning girl to begin with so so was beautiful! Shirley and I have been friends since the seventh grade (and I WON"T do the math on that one!) and I have been there since Ashley was born, and having all boys like we do, this was pretty close to watching a daughter walk down the aisle. It was great.
My niece is my only girl and who I consider "my daughter" and she just had the most beautiful baby girl in June! Her name is Olivia and she smiles at me when I hold her - so I'm a very happy great-aunt!!
So now I have to face the aftermath of my hectic weekend! I guess I'll start in the kitchen - again. No, maybe I'll throw some wash in and then hit the kitchen. But it's nice to be back chatting and I will endeavor to go back and read if I have some spare time.

by the way, what's spare time look like????
