Yes! That's exactly what I saw before I clicked! So glad you got a screencap of it and I'm not crazy. Well, not about this at least.

Thank God there's no porn in those other tabs!!!:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Every person is different, but what I do is this...

When I'm being good, I follow the Atkins diet.
When I'm being bad, I'M BEING BAD!!!
My in between is 40 grams of carbs per meal.
(no matter where they come from, it stops at about 40)

I drink mostly water, then diet pop or unsweetened tea with Splenda.
About once a month, on average, I will have a sugared drink.
(Unless I'm drinking alcohol then I splurge because I love my Foo Foo drinks!!) :thumbsup2

I eat Honey Roasted Peanuts for breakfast at work everyday. I put them in the snack size ziploc bags.
Lunch is usually steak or chicken with green beans or broccoli and cauliflower.
Dinner is whatever. :confused3 I just try to watch the portions but not always.

Mainly I just cut out the extra carbs in pop! Get whole grains as much as possible and make up for being bad with doing the Atkins thing and my a1c is always in check. :thumbsup2

Like I said. Every body is different but I hope this can help!

I was watching a show on CNN (I think) called D-Life. It's a good, informative show. It comes on Sundays.

On it I saw that one of the professional eaters is a Type 1 diabetic. His Dr. is fine with it as long as his a1c comes in fine.

I don't know if this is uncomfortable for you but I like talking about it. I love getting tips from anybody I can. Or recipes for that matter!:thumbsup2 I got a good one for a no bake cheese cake! YUMMMMM!!

Sir Richard Branson was in Chicago recently. Here is a brief article about it, including a picture of him riding on the CTA. Clicky For those who don't know what the CTA is, it is the public transportation system in Chicago. For those who are attending the Chicago DIS meet, if you need to use it, I can provide some assistance.

Richard Branson said

"I know Mayor Daley well … I visited an office he was in on the 18th floor, and he dangled me out the top window, holding my ankles and told me unless we hurried up and got my airline to Chicago he’d let go. So, I had to do what I was told."

I wonder how much truth there is in that?

Thanks! I went to see a dietician and surprisingly, she said I was actually eating what she would recommend. Weird, because I think it's too many carbs. She told me 45-60 for a meal. I try to hit the lower end of that or even less. I've cut out sugary drinks (except, like you, for foo foo drinks :goodvibes). I mostly drink just water, but occasionally have a diet soda or a sports drink with splenda. I love orange juice, but it's a rare treat. The stuff sends my sugars through the roof. We've also stopped eating pasta once or more times a week. Now it's more like once or twice a month. That has been a big help.

I'm USUALLY good with 2/3rds of my meals so it all averages out. Plus I don't drink foo foos all that often. But I will at the Dismeet!!:thumbsup2

I found minute maid makes 'Minute Maid Lite" fruit punch and lemonade (only 5 grams of carbs per serving). That is what I like to mix my rum or 99 bananas in!:drinking1

Not uncomfortable at all. Jason is though. He didn't even tell his family that he had been diagnosed. Just got into the gym and worked out until he got everything normalized and they took it off his medical chart. The doc calls him her star patient. I have another name for him. He spends two hours at the gym five days a week though. Not everyone can find the time to do that!

If you have recipes to share, I'd love to have them. Like I said, I've tried some things that my family just won't eat. All Kyle ever wants is burritos and burgers. One of his favorite things is when I make what we call "super salad". I buy all kinds of yummy fixings and put it out salad bar style. That way they can build their own salad with what they want. We did get them to branch out a little when we started involving them in the cooking. Kyle loves to grill and Paul cooks dinner more often that I do now.

I've caught that a few times. I've tried over and over to change the way we eat at home. But, my family puts up such a fight, I just give up. :confused3 I need to find yummy meals that are good for us too. At least they like salad.
