Whew it is HOT here in NC. We have just finished building a playhouse for
Ari's first birthday. Cassie (2) thinks the house is hers. (of course) and they both are having a blast. Tony is just glad is is finished. He has so much "help" building that he thought he wouldn't finish it. We were having to hold up the walls while she ran around, over and through it. What a weekend! Thank God we have today to go to the pool and rest. Although with both of them, resting isn't always possible. :rotfl:

I gotta get some rubber boots, a hose, a new sump pump and start pumping all the water out. Then see why it didn't pump in the first place. My sump may have quit working or my son and friends may have unplugged it. :confused3

Got the rubber boots, went down in the crawl, wiggled the pump a bit and it turned on!!:woohoo: Now it needs to pump 1500 square feet of 6 in deep water! :teacher: Maybe someone could do the mathematics on that and come up with total gallons of water. :teacher: :confused3

An Arizona Department of Safety Officer pulled over a pick-up truck owner
for a faulty taillight.
When the officer approached the driver, the man
behind the wheel handed the officer his driver’s license, insurance card and
a concealed weapon carry permit.
The officer took all the documents, looked them over and said. "Mr..
Smith, I see you have a CCP. Do you have any weapons with you?"
The driver replied, " Yes sir, I have a 357 handgun in a hip holster, a
.45 in the glove box and a .22 derringer in my boot."
The officer looked at the driver and asked, "Anything else?"
"Yes sir, I have a Mossberg 500 12 gauge and an AR-15 behind the seat."
The officer asked if the man was driving to or from a shooting range
and the man said he wasn't, so the officer bent over and looked into the
driver's face and said "Mr. Smith, you're carrying quite a few guns.
May I ask what you are afraid of?
Mr. Smith locked eyes with the officer and calmly answered,
"Not a F***ing thing!"

No one recognizes the significance of Memorial Day more than those servicemen who came home alive. Please add your thoughts and prayers to the families and friends of those who gave their all that we might stay free. This isn't a day of remembrance for veterans, it is for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country and way of life. :thanks:

For an interesting video, I offer you the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

For those who like to eat, I think a field trip to Portland, OR might be in order. Some of the things listed here sound WAY too good to miss out on. I guess I will have to make a preliminary run at some of them in August. Check out Hashcapades in Portland! :worship:

If you find yourself wondering, "What can I do today, since I don't have to work?", I have found some suggestions for you at Lifehacker. Even if you don't want to do some of them today, they will be available to do any time you have some extra time available. I personally suggest the best times would be when it is close to a pirate: or :bride: number!

Who doesn't like a Big Mac once in a while? Wouldn't it be ever so much better if you could make it yourself? Well, now you have all the information you need to make it at home, with far better ingredients! Try that the next time you just want to surprise some people when they think you're just going to grill some burgers!

Anybody remember the original Star Trek? Remember how McCoy figured out what was wrong with sick or injured people? Well, meet the tri-corder competition! That could be very cool!

In good time, you will have more rest. :thumbsup2 I'm in the "sandwich" generation also, taking care of your children and parents at the same time. Not easy, hang in there! :grouphug:

Do you think that seeing is believing? Check out this amazing illusion and see for yourself that may not be the case. Great explanation of it too. :teacher:

Happy belated birthday! And today, you can rest after the birthday festivities! :bday:
Thank you very much! No rest for the weary, wish I can rest.

Wait! Why spend $$ to go to a water park? Sounds like you have your own built in! :wizard:

My grandfather fought in WW II, was part of the Bataan Death March ( yes he survived that!

)and the Korean War. He passed away in 2005, we went to go visit him yesterday and pay our respects. There were many people at the cemetery visiting loved ones.
