I know we have similar tastes in books :rolleyes1 if your book club does too then I'd highly recommend starting the Psy Changeling series by Nalini Singh.

I'll bring this one up too. I have to put this on my "to be read" list, regardless. I'm starting book 2 of the Black Dagger Brotherhood tonight. :thumbsup2

If your looking for more mainstream The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins while marketed as YA was really good and I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you haven't already read it, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo sereis by Stieg Larsson was really good too.

I think The Hunger Games will definitely be on the list. Another of the ladies mentioned it as well. I'm waiting on book #3 from the library now.

We did the first book in Stieg Larsson's series and then I read the other two. I liked those a lot. Not my normal type read, but I got hooked.

Out of those I would recommend Rich Dad Poor Dad and Decision Points. <snip>
I don't know what kind of books you guys read but I usually don't read fiction.

Thanks! We read a little bit of everything. Nothing is automatically off the table.

Just finished reading Decision Points as well. I really liked it. Made me look at things a heck of a lot differently. I would recommend this book.

Even if the ladies don't go for this one, I think I'll pick it up and read it myself. Thanks for the recommendation!

So, I showed up for my book club a bit early today. It's not until tomorrow. Ugh!!

Nice weather in the Chicagoland area last two days - then I believe back in 50s tomorrow. Going to take my dogs for a walk soon and clean house since I was gone all day yesterday. Playing handbells for our church's confirmation this afternoon. Maybe I can practice outside this am :-). Hope everyone has a great Sunday!!

I was reluctant to read the Psy Changeling series at first since it just sounded weird, even to me :lmao: Yeah, now it's like crack series number two for me  Book 2 of BDB is where the addiction will probably start to take hold ... Mmmmmm Rhage yum. Book 3 is my favorite. I am completely and totally in love with Zsadist.

HG - I blew through all 3 quickly. There were some really intense emotionally draining parts for me and it did keep me on the edge of my seat turning pages.

Yeah, Steig Larsson's books were not my normal type of read either. But once you get past the first 200 pages of the first book you're hooked. Prior to reading PR and UF books I mostly read John Grisham, Dean Koontz, Stephen King, James Patterson, John Sandford, love the Prey novels.

That was just wrong :lmao:

Happy Sunday morning, everyone!! Beautiful day here in the Chicagoland area!! Leaving for the SOX game in the next hour. Tailgating, 80 degree weather, and a SOX win......how much better could my Sunday get??? Ok, if I was in Disney in 80 degree weather, but still! Matter of fact, I WAS there this time last Sunday...in 80 degree weather!!!! :cool1: Have a great day everybody!!

Now just 71 days for those of us that can check in and make reservations at the 90 days out time frame:cheer2::cheer2:

Went for a bike ride, DS played in the dam, DD played at the brand new park, started getting windy so we came home. Now I'm sending Junior to the store to get some stuff so we can cook out on the grill. Hopefully he gets back before the big storms hit.

There are possible tornado watches for our friends in Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, even perhaps Upper Michigan! Please be safe!!!!

Yeah, I'm almost done with book #2 now. Probably another half hour of reading to go. The next one came into the library for me, but they don't open again until Tuesday at noon. :headache: So, I'll have to find something else to read between now and then. Maybe Pride, Prejudice and Zombies? I've had that on the shelf for a while but haven't gotten to it yet.

I had the same experience with the Larsson's series. It was a bit hard to get into, but then it grabbed me and didn't let go.

I wish! I can't make mine until the 75 day mark. Not much hope of a Palo Brunch at that point.

Oh, our next book club pick is Water for Elephants. We read a couple of books and then seen the movie. This one comes out as a movie in a few weeks. So, we'll probably try to go see it in the theater after discussing the book.

There is always hope! We will not be making reservations for the Palo brunch, so you are only competing with the other 3,398 other people on the ship for the reservations. pixiedust:pixiedust:for you getting a reservation
