Oh VERY cool! The only DVC stuff we have are the red hats that were tucked into our Fedex box with our paperwork. I think they are awesome, but Jason and I don't usually wear anything red. So, I don't know if they'll ever be used. :guilty: I'm hoping to expand my DVC branded stuff in September! :thumbsup2

I still can't believe we've already added 25% more points and it hasn't even been a year since we purchased our original contract. :rotfl2:

Believe me...you will get PLENTY of DVC branded stuff in September! :thumbsup2 You'll have so much you almost won't know what to do with it! :rotfl:

Hi Debbie we should find out this week. It has all happened so quick. This house has everything they wanted. They have financing in place so hopefully that helps. Fingers crossed.

Also just wanted you all to know there is a big royal wedding coming up in April, that is the other Will & Kate. Our royal couple Will & Kate will be married in July at the Happiest Place in the world! Both places have castles our friend Cindy owns one. She also rents out her carriage! Just a fun fact;)

:goodvibes :thumbsup2

Nice Appetizer, where are the main courses :goodvibes

:lmao: I couldn't even finish THAT!! The lasagna was deeper than it looks.

Sue and I agree that the 3rd weekend (June 18) would be best for us. What does everybody else think? Would that work? Lynn, your daughter's wedding is in July, right?

That MIGHT work for us. Our nephew's first birthday is June 20th. And his brother's birthday is June 22nd. My DSiL didn't plan that very well. :rotfl2: We're not sure when she's going to have the baby's 1st birthday party. Hopefully it's not June 18th!!!

Hi Dan that weekend sounds great. Maybe because the 18 is my b day;)
Whoo-hoo! A DISmeet and birthday celebration combo! :yay: Does this work for everybody else? I sure hope so! This is exciting stuff!

:thumbsup2 Who doesn't want to watch a half hour video of our ship? :confused3

Oh gosh! I didn't mean nobody would want to watch a half hour of video of our ship! :lmao: I just meant to make sure you have a half hour of free time when you sit down to watch it. :thumbsup2  I'm sure we could ALL watch HOURS of video of our ship! :goodvibes

Kelly you rock... Everyone at the Dis meet, it was so nice to put a face to a name and a name to a face... If anyone is form Disney is lurking, then thanks for a really really really great time... yes we should meet again before we sail..and yes with the temp above 60 degrees, not because flip flops and snow don't mix( I found it rather refreshing..) but it is much safer to drive in better weather...hmmm say late June'ish????

Ohhh! I am game!! June sounds great! I had a great time too. So glad to meet you and Milford!! Loved the pins....I think he got Jim hooked now!! I was proud to wear those flip flops...we rocked them!!

A BIG thank you to everyone who came out yesterday in the crappy weather and helped get this DVC Cruise started!! It was so nice to meet everyone and my family had a blast. You are all so nice and friendly!! I felt right at home there in DTD!!

I wanted to let you all know EXACTLY what was in the huge gift basket I won!! Of course there was the Steamboat Willy; that Lilly loved and is now sleeping with, two DVC keychains, two DVC leather cell phone holders, two travel coffe mugs, a DTD fold/zip up bag (which I will be bringing on the DVC Member Cruse for "loot"), two DTD luggage tags, DVC Mickey Ears, DVC mousepad, DVC leather portfolio with pad of paper, DVC calendar book, several pins (including a 2003 Members Cruise pin), some art prints of Mickey, buttons, Chicago Mickey reusable bag with handles, and a really cool red/black/yellow Mickey Mouse Ear shaped box which held it ALL!! I loved it!!

Something else I have.....which I feel horrible about, is a DVC Pin for each of you. Bethany/Derek gave me a bunch of DVC Minnie Luau pins to share with you all, and I totally forgot to give them to you. So...........we absolutely have to get together in June so I can hand them out. Sorry about that. :confused3

Thanks again and let's get together real soon!!

Shawn - that sounds good. I have a suggestion for a late June DISmeet in Chicago: CHICAGO RIVERBOAT TOUR!!!! What do you guys think? I know...I know...it's not a DISNEY CRUISE SHIP, but it looks like it could still be fun. Of course we'd have to arrange something for a back-up in case it's pouring down rain. Has anyone in the Chicago area ever done one of those?

Sitting here wishing I had been able to make it to the DIS meet. Spring would work better for us, especially if we are in Michigan that weekend. While I would enjoy going to Doorways to Dreams (never been to one) we took a River cruise last year.

I believe they have a few to choose from. We took an architectural tour which was rather enjoyable. You could tell the lady giving the narration really enjoyed her job. In addition to architecture she pointed out famous people's residences (Oprah comes to mind), demonstrated how friendly Chicago is by chatting with people onshore, and took some warm-hearted stabs at New York. She asked one group of folks partying on the riverfront if we could join them, then said we'd all be back there in about 30 minutes.

The cruise was probably around 2 hours and covered the river where we boarded, then throught the locks into Lake Michigan where they either turn toward Navy Pier or toward the museums. The narrator takes a break and walks the crowd answering questions. Then we went up another river where she talked some more. We probably only covered about 1 mile of river total plus the lake.

Prices were approximately $25 per person, or approximately $40 if you wanted to include unlimited drinks (beer, wine, and at least some mixed drinks if I recall correctly). The prices are just a wild guess based on my recollection. Slightly more than I expected, but within reason (may have been more like $30 / $50?).

Since we have never been to DTD, maybe some of us could meet there too? I don't know if the cruises go all day long or not, but the one we took was late afternoon/early evening.

Ok I am going to try this. If I have messed up anybody's name please blame DTD for making it such a fantastic time that my brain wasnt functioning properly. I felt like the vacation had already started!

Here goes: front row left to right: Angela (can't remember her dis name), Nancy Potter (stitchnbead), Sue Potter (truffle), Terri (tiggermetoo), Kelly (lilliansmommy)

Back row staggered left to right: Junior (steamboatwillynilly), Debbie (luckymomoftwo), Mark & Lynn (mlholster), Marty & Sue (friendofpluto), Michael (m&npotter), Laura Potter (lpotter), Shawn (mousefan64), Tim (?), Jim (Kelly's DH), Milford (disrailfan).

Again, if I got any names wron, my brain apologizes!

Did anyone notice the ship will be taken over by Potters? Thank goodness their last name isn't "Hook" or "Shark" or "Waters".

Dear DVC friends-

Due to some personal issues that have come up George and I will need to withdraw from the Fish Extender as well as the Palo brunch. We are still very much looking forward to meeting all of you and seeing those of you we have already had the blessing to meet again.

I apologize for the late notice on this- it took much thought and debate before arriving at this difficult decision. You all have made us part of a family that we cherish and continue to want to be a part of.

Thank you all for your understanding.

I do hope to be making more regular appearances on the board in the coming months to catch up on the goings on and of course I am most looking forward to boarding the ship in September!

I KNOW I got somebody's disboard name
wrong. I know one of the names should be clayfolks. But I cant remember who it is. So sorry!

Stacey - you and George don't have to apologize for anything!! when I first started reading your post I was afraid you were canceling the cruise. That would have made me sad because I am really looking forward to meeting everyone on this thread! I hope that everything is ok.
