09/18/11 - DVCers Take Over the Dream (S.S. Member Cruise 2011) - Thread #4

Thanks John for all the coordinating you are doing to make sure a good time is had by all! I would like some feed back on a Parrothead get together during the cruise. It seems like Jimmy Buffet music and fans and DVC members like to have a fun time whevere we are. I propose getting as many of us together as possible. Please send your opinion. We can try to meet on one of the Castaway Cay days at the adult beach for fun to Jimmy Buffet music or meet on one of the sea days in one of the bar areas. I will work with DCL entertainment to make sure there is the right music for our gathering. Please let me know which would work best, the island or on board. Once we establish a time and place I will work with the folks at radio Margaritaville to see what other surprises I can arrange. All ideas are welcome and encouraged so get your Parrothead hats on and let me hear from you. Thanks and fins up!

I remember several Parrotheads when Mike first mentioned this. Did we lose them somewhere on Thread 3, trying to catch up?

My vote would be for the island verses onboard. Does anyone know when they started 2 for 1 Happy Hour last cruise? It was sometime later in the afternoon. That might be a good time frame. I assume it is offered at the Adult beach too?

I mentioned to Mike, that if we coordinate with DCL it should also get posted in the Navigator! Of course people we don't know will be there too, but that should just add to the fun. This might be our first DISboard activity to be officially recognized and published ... and we will all be part of it's history. Cool eh?

Whaddya guys think? Any other suggetions?

I am NOT a water skier ... (but I could play one on TV with loads of really bad special effects ) John, we'll have to stick together on the cruise so that NEITHER one of us "goes missing" (whatever the heck THAT means) ... Instead of water skiing maybe I could just sit in the inflatable Donald Duck pool ringy thingy and be pulled by the boat

Ok.. I confirmed with Jim the Illuminations cruise. We are in..
As for seating arrangements.. We are perfectly fine not being with the rest of the Potter clan.. Love them to death.. but really at that point, after um almost gulp a half century with my brothers, I am fine with others (As they are also I am sure!! )

BRRRR all this talk of snow and cold. Am I the only one from the mild weather south on the board? It is going to be in the 70's here in the Houston area this week. Our weatherman predicted a cold Christmas, in the 40's. I guess cold is a relative term.

Yep, there's a lot of us from the Midwest and the Northeast. It's fun to complain about the snow and cold, and to pine for your weather, but the first few snowfalls and the fresh smell of spring makes it more tolerable.

We have been to both WDW and DL when it has been below freezing, but the only snow we saw was at the Osborne family lights.
