"FINALLY – A GREAT ALTERNATIVE TO BODY SCANNERS:

The Israelis are developing an airport security device that eliminates the
privacy concerns that come with full-body scanners at the airports.

It's a booth you can step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate
any explosive device you have on you. They see this as a win-win for
everyone, with no racial profiling. It also would eliminate the costs of a long
and expensive trial. Case closed!

You're in the airport terminal and you hear a muffled explosion. Shortly
thereafter an announcement comes over the PA system . . . "Attention standby
passengers - we now have a seat available on flight 321.”

:lmao: LOVE IT!

Apparently, only when we have major changes to the house
1st time - Had house built
this time - Re-Decorated

Well...ya gotta show off the new house and then ya gotta show off the re-decorated house, right?! :thumbsup2

Next time ... when you get me a pool :cool1:

:thumbsup2

Morning you guys! Gotta get moving really fast today so that we make it to the Vienna hot dog factory before they close. Gotta pick up those Thanksgiving dogs, dontchaknow!! :rotfl2: I hope everyone has a great, stress free day. :rolleyes1

Hello to all, tis' the time of year
To bestow upon thee Thanksgiving Cheer
Blessing those so near and far
By bus or plane, boat or car
It's the thought and act no less
To see our loved ones to hug and bless
For everyday is sweet at heart
You never know when one may part
Cheers to football and the mall
You'll need some wine, you'll hear the call
Coffee, tea, then we'll plea
"We need the loo! We need to pee!"
And that's the time I bid "adieu"
Bless the DIS, I must "ah-CHOO!"

Happy Thanksgiving!
Jennifer :goodvibes

I have Thanksgiving at our house every year and I love it.

I'm interested to hear what's in it. Don't think it can be any less healthy than mine. I use sausage, thick cut bacon, mushrooms and the onions, celery and butter like most stuffings.

For this one you use the pound of sausage, pound of bacon PLUS the bacon drippings are used to moisten the bread. Heaven forbid you dump out the bacon grease- that would be wasteful :)

I want to see "include pictures please" who's stuffing recipe has more "goodness" in it :goodvibes

My stuffing is so yummy that if you pause to take a picture the wolves will decend and you will not get any! Debbies sounds that good as well! I'll post the recipe shortly :)

Bill’s Heart Attack Stuffing

Ingredients: 1 bag Pepperidge Farm Herb Seasoned Stuffing
1 lb bacon
1 pack spicy sausage (appx. 6 links)
1 onion
1 pack of slice mushrooms
Several garlic cloves
1 stick butter

Instructions: simmer turkey innards for a couple of hours
Remove and dice finely (save broth for later)

Fry bacon (save bacon grease for later)
Crumble bacon

Use a little of the bacon grease to sauté onions, garlic and mushrooms
Add in sausage, bacon and innards towards the end

Now, put stuffing mix in large mixing bowl
Add stick of butter and onion, mushroom, garlic, bacon, sausage and innards mix
Finally add 2 ½ cups of liquid. Use all of bacon drippings and then add broth to bring up to 2 ½ cups
Blend together by hand

I like to cook it in a pan rather then in the bird because I like the crunchy top part the best :)

The stuffing is my brothers creation and is named after him :cool1:

You HAVE to use the bacon grease!

Mine is a little different. I use a tube of sausage instead of links and I cut up the bacon before I fry it (easier for me). I add celery instead of garlic too. I always make a double batch so I stuff the bird and the remaining dressing I bake in muffin tins (with a pat of butter on top)so you get more of the crunchy. Yummy.....

Step one of our vacation is completed! We picked up our rental today. It's a nice Toyota Corolla. It drives soooo much smoother than my beat up Saturn. :cloud9: Then I had to stop and buy tire chains for it. We're required to carry them on the roads we'll be driving. They were $80. But, if we don't use them, we can return them after 4/1.

Also stopped at AAA and picked up my map and California books. I decided to go ahead and buy the Universal Hollywood tickets there. They were $10 less than the gate price and include a second day for free. :thumbsup2

Good evening all!

I had planned to take the DCL bus from AKV to the port. After looking at some threads I noticed that the bus arrives between 1 and 3 pm. I had really hoped to get there on the earlier side so I could explore the terminal and get an early boarding so I could also wander the boat a bit. (and maybe get a cocktail or two after my lunch) ;)

Other than taking an obscenely early ME bus to the airport and then catching the DCL, is the only other option a rental/car service? If that is the choice, can anyone tell me about how expensive it would be to rent a car the night before and including tolls, drive to the port instead? I know I could do research on the various car rental agencies, cross reference my eligibility for discounts then map the route and investigate the tolls to come up with an approximate cost. Of course, that would involve work and I prefer to just get a rough, no-obligation if it is off, idea quote from one of my new DIS family members.

On another note, is someone keeping a list of those of us who are arriving early and staying on property? I have seen a B2B list but don't recall one for my situation.

Thanks and I hope everyone has begun their pre-thanksgiving conditioning. :earboy2:
