Glad to hear that she is okay, even if she doesn't like the look of them. Tell her that it will make for a great story! She can make one (very wild) story up! She can use that amazing imagination for that. When are you at WDW in January?
Hi Kelly, glad to hear she is doing well. I have a suggestion for you: shortly before you go to the doctor to get the stitches out, gently massage some neosporin or bacitracin ointment into the stitches and the immediate area. This will soften everything up and "lube" them up good. When the doctor snips and pulls them out Lily won't even realize it unless she is watching
When DS 16 was about her age he fell and split his forehead open. It wasn't too bad, but it did take three stitches. He was cool as a cucumber when we were at the ER. He laid back and let everyone do what they needed to do without tears or complaint. When it was all over, we explained to him that he couldn't rub or scratch at the stitches. We took him over to the mirror to show him what it looked like. Poor kid went white as a ghost (and he's already a pale kid to start with!). He said, "Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh!! That's an OWEY!!!!" We had to sit him down for a couple of minutes because we thought he was going to pass out!!![]()
