We ate at Geno's East pizza. I ordered a large deep dish and ate only 2 slices, I knew if you guys were with us Wally would have finished off the other 6. That's ok, now I have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Would have been great to see you guys though.

The guy that wrote "A Christmas Story" grew up in Hammond IN which is a couple towns to the west from us. The town is called Hohman in the movie but it was about Hammond.

Love the movie Christmas Story. My husband grew up in Hammond and I grew up in East Chicago. My daughter and SIL bought my husband a Red Rider gun for Christmas last year.

We live in Hobart and work in Merrillville. My FIL bought a red rider for my son at Christmas one year. He was 2! I guess that's a Gary education for ya.

My first home after I was married 28 years ago was Merrillville. I have family in Dyer, Schereville, Highland, Carmel, Lowell, Valpo to name a few. My first nursing job was St Margaret Mercy. If it was not for my husband's job moving us out this way, we may still be near our families.

How long did you live in Merrillville? Did you know any of the Guernsey's in Merrillville? Everyone from my dad's side (the Guernsey's) of my family lived in Merrillville up until about 10 years ago. I lived with my mom and grew up in Hobart.
