09/18/11 - DVCers Take Over the Dream (S.S. Member Cruise 2011) - Thread #3

Today was PURE BLISS for me! I NEVER EVER get time alone at home. Junior works two jobs so most of the time it's just me and the kids. And my kids are not the best kids in the world. I don't know what I did wrong, but boy can they push me to the point of wanting to run away! I also get about an hour and a half of alone time tonight. DS has basketball practice and DD has girl scouts. And of course Junior is working. This only happens once every two weeks. Tonight will be my first night of enjoying it. Two weeks ago I was busy running errands for my brother and a friend. I got a lot accomplished today. I got my pictures from the last five-seven years somewhat organized. I think I need to give up on my plan to scrapbook. There's just way too much! I don't have enough time to do that much scrapbooking. Unless someone can give me tips on digital scrapbooking online? Maybe if I dedicate one night per week to scrapbooking, I might get caught up in a year! Then I just have to discipline myself to scrap as the holidays/b-days/vacations happen. And then I won't fall so far behind on it. (Much easier said than done!)

My next big project will be to clean out my closet. OMG...there is so much junk in there! It's our "catch all" area of the house.

It's BEAUTIFUL outside today! It's in the 70's!!!!!! And I was stuck inside all day. OH well...I feel a little bit better about looking at my living room now that I don't have piles of picture envelopes stacked in the corner!

I love do scrapbooking, but like you i can't find the time to do it. When my son was 6 months old i started his scrapbook of his first year... Well lets just say he turn 2 in september and in his scrapbook i haven't even made it past the page with the pics from the hospital on them. lol i want to work on it but i just can't find the time.

it's going to be a very nice day here in jersey - and it's friday .

Hopefully it will be a quiet weekend - i have had enough excitement lately.

I heard from my son in afghanistan this past week (my reason for not being very social this week or so). He has decided to extend his work there for another 6 months - so needless to say, i'm very conflicted with my feelings again. I'm very worried because things seem to be heating up over there - and besides that's what us mothers get to do - worry!!! But when he tells me that he wants to stay and finish the job he has started and train the new guys that will be coming in december, i'm so proud of him that i could bust! So my emotional roller coaster will now continue until sometime in june - oh my that sounds so very far away.

Please send a little Our way! I really appreciate how supportive everyone has been.

Have a great weekend everyone! I have to work, but will try to pop in from time to time to say hi.

We appreciate everything they do. My friends son has been over there a couple times now with the canadian forces. He cant even tell his parents where or what he is doing. The work he is trained for is undercover.

Thanks Ian. Please tell your friends that I appreciate what their son is doing - because he's probably keeping my son safe! I will keep him in my prayers, along with all of our service men and women from all countries!

Very greatful for what the soldiers do for us. My BBF's boyfriend is over there right now also... He will be there till September. It's very hard for her. She says that she use to ask him all the time what are you doing today and she began to notice he says just about the same thing everytime... she said like they are trained to not tell what they are actually doing. Its strange.. My cousin is in Texas right now awaiting to be deployed too... I asked him about it and he said they monitor the phone conversations. For my cousin Luckly we will see him one last time before he leaves... He gets to come home for thanksgiving. Best wishes to you and your family.

And my best wishes and thanks to your family as well! Yes, sometimes he is very closed lipped about things, and other times he will come up with a funny story to tell about how different things are there. The days are long and nights are quiet, he says. Hopefully, they will all come home soon. have a great Thanksgiving with your cousin! Bobby may get to come home at Christmas, but he'll be in NC at home and we may not get to see him - but he'll be home and that's the important part (I keep reminding myself when I get down about it)!!

Yea, we do have a bunch of them - most are really nice. We've been to alot of them with our scouts.

I bought myself a Keurig mini. Which of the coffees/teas do you recommend? I picked up a pack of chai latte , a pack of the apple cider and hot chocolate (milk) which is haven't tried yet. I want to try some of the flavored coffees so I can hopefully get away from using creamer. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Oh I have one of those mini ones too. I love the chai!! It's one of my favorites. DS likes the hot chocolate. Thank goodness his grandmother buys him refills on that one because he drinks it so often! I haven't tried the cider but it sounds good - let me know about that one. I also like the English Breakfast Tea and Earl Gray Tea. I usually just do coffee in my big pot because I drink that all morning!! Maxwell House is the brew here, or sometimes the Green Mountain.

I'll let you know on the cider, Sue. DH doesn't drink coffee and I only drink it at work during the week so that's why I bought the mini.
