did any one else hear that this is the last cruise for 2011 that you can book with points?

Wow did not know that?? From what I hear (Mr. Awesome Junior) it's best to not worry about them; wish I thought of that ! lol

Any more word on the wine idea? Just curious to see if you received my email, asked you a few ?'s

We never have points left, lol! We use them for our family. And this summer for a wedding.

I really enjoyed the shrimp cocktail shooters, I ordered some vodka to make it a really special bloody mary type experience.

Thanks, so if I go by my math...let's see

(3 cruises a year) * (years) - (already booked cruises) + (8 retiring later than planned because of DCL) / (escape from reality) = 3 years (give or take a year or two)

Ok, so In ~3 years we'll be platinum

Somewhere there is a whole thread about all the angry DVC members that are upset about not being able to use their points. My guesswould be because there were too many repeat cruisers (mostly DVC members) and the cruiselline noticed lack of sales in the shops. Just a wild guess, though, not fact.

Honestly, though...it's not very economical to use your points at all!!! For instance on the member cruise we pay cash for a verandah stateroom. If we were to use points (at $10 per point), we would get a standard inside stateroom for the same price. So it's better to pay cash and then rent out your points OR go on another vacation at WDW with your points.
