I had emailed Emilee's teacher this morning (to remind her that Emilee is a car rider today and not a bus rider home) and when she replied she said Emilee is "doing such a great job this year!". I replied that I regretted that she didn't go to that school for 1st grade but it's water under the bridge now and I'm glad everything is working out now.

The teacher's reply was this: "I'm so glad she at least came last year. Maturity-wise she is right where many of the 2nd graders are, and has many friends to choose from at recess and in class for special projects. Socially, it's great for Emilee as well as academically. Thanks so much for your support and help at home. All of last year's work has really paid off. Emilee's a success story that always brings a smile to my face."

I am so proud of my baby girl!!!!! I just had to share her teacher's message. Thanks for reading! :goodvibes

:thumbsup2That is fantastic news!! Keep up the good work! :grouphug:

Great kids present lots of proud parent moments, you will have many more:thumbsup2

My Debbie says maturity wise I am right where many 2nd graders are too:confused3

Ditto! Being back home really sucks right now. Scout crap is still going on and it's UGLY. I want to be back on the Dream, cruising with my DisPeeps! :sad1:

In the words of a very wise woman (my mom) "This too shall pass". That's what she tells me every time I'm having a rough road in life.

Thanks! We're trying...she can be quite stubborn at home with the reading.

This is true! I just wish I could say the heck with it all and walk away. But, I won't force my boys to leave the troop where all their friends are. I'm still hoping there are enough of us to who don't want to be linked to our chartered organization to move on to another and start a new troop. But, I can't do that all on my own.

Meanwhile, I'll keep repeating that phrase and reminding myself to keep breathing.

Yeah, I mentioned the month and year to Jason and he was thinking how far off that is. Actually, it's not that far off at all!

So, is the far far east DisMeet just planned for Shanghai or both Shanghai and Toyko? Jason and I will definitely do Tokyo at some point too. Jason's been looking at lots of stuff on DisneySea since we got home. He's even been telling me facts and info about it. It's kinda weird having him bring up Disney to me. It's always been the other way around.

Sounds like he is hooked now! :rotfl2: That's usually how it happens, one day a normal person, the next a disneyphile (sp). :cool1: Pretty much how it happened to me.

Sounds like the boys are getting to learn an important lesson about people for which there is no scout badge. I hope it all works out soon for you guys:goodvibes

To all of you in the Chicago area I just read that Mary Poppins -the play:rotfl:- is going to be in Chicago. I saw it on Broadway-NYC-with my daughter and granddaughter. Molly age 4 loved it as we did, especially when Mary Poppins flew over the audience. Hope you get a chance to see it.

This is true! I just wish the lesson wasn't "even a church will screw over good people". :sad2: Thanks for the good wishes. I took some heat from a few people last night when I gave up my active roles on the committee. But many others came to my defense. So, it is what it is. :confused3 The people who count "get it". So, that's what is most important to me. Now to get everything straightened out for the scouts. I definitely feel that my efforts supporting our committee chair and standing up to make sure we don't backslide into a glorified camping club are more important than doing the other jobs I was doing. Someone(s) else can do all those things.

Hi Karen :wave2:

 Gotta love it!

So whatcha sayin' is Jason's wearing the thong next cruise?

Hiya Wally!

I don't think DCL could handle two Thong Boys. :rotfl2:

Is that what they say? Good to know.

man, this thread is going super slow...

maybe I should kick it in the rear by starting the "PCPP" (post cruise princess/pirate) game :confused3

 I'm doing my best. Maybe we should have a question of the day (or week) thing?
