I just read my last post and I guess need to add that I hope ALL of the people in Alaska are safe as well. What's wrong with me?! Oh yeah, I posted that about five minutes after I woke up from half a night's sleep. :upsidedow

Adult FE gifts for the SSMC are done! :woohoo: Finished my FE today too. Didn't put our names on it though. I may do that if I have time, but I'm not going to stress it!

Glad you are done with them and can check that off your list!

Hi Debbie! It's been busy, busy, busy esp with the kids going back to school.
Just trying to tie up loose ends for the trip. I've fallen asleep a couple of times on my laptop because I've been sooo tiered. :faint:
I really am looking foward to meeting everyone! I think my kids will be like :scared1:, "how do you know so many peolple on the ship!" :confused3
Oh I can't wait!!!
I really think my DH will blend in nicely with the Dispeeps. He even "ugraded" his pirate costume to look like a real pirate, sword and all! :sad2: He even bought jewelry,. He used a lot of my pirate booty to purchase all his stuff. pirate: It's ok, I'll just :cloud9: he's Captain JS....:rolleyes1

Gosh! I sure hope you have time to catch up on your sleep. If not...you'll have the chance on your flight in to Orlando, right? :goodvibes

Cool remnants of D23 Expo for me! While we were at the D23 Expo, I entered a sweepstakes from one of the vendors. It was for a Harvey's Disney Classic messenger bag. I won  So excited to be getting my first Harvey's Disney bag :yay:

How awesome sauce is that!? Congrats! Now I have to julioogle what a Harveys Disney Bag looks like.

"Playing the role of "Junior" in tonight's production of 'Lurking for DisPirates' will be his understudy, Debbie Luckymomoftwo. We hope that will enjoy the show. Please remember to turn off all cell phones and pagers. This theater prohibits the use of any and all cameras and recording devices."

:cool1::thumbsup2:rotfl2::cool1::thumbsup2:rotfl2:

Nice job Debbie!

:lmao:

Thanks!

Kelly, if you don't mind would you please correct the times below for the whole day (probably several others are interested too):

12:30-3:00 pm AquaDuck is Open. (Also have seen hours as 12:15 to 2:45. Wear swim gear onboard)
1:00-3:30 pm Palo & Remy Bookings and Dining Assignment changes (D Lounge, deck 4 midship).
1:30 pm Allowed access to room for first time (luggage should arrive before 5:30 pm).
Just to check, there is NO early party on deck any more?
3:00 pm? DisBoard Meet and Greet (check current DisBoard discussion).
3:30-4:30 pm Palo & Remy reservation and dining schedule changes via phone (7-1831 / 1832).
4:00 pm Mandatory muster drill for all passengers (except for those who just sailed B2B?).
4:00 pm All Aboard.

4:30-8:30 pm AquaDuck is open.

7:00 pm Middle Show in Walt Disney Theater, 3 & 4 Forward (The Golden Mickeys).

8:15 pm Late Dinner (as a courtesy to your table-mates, please be on time).
9:00 pm Late Show in Walt Disney Theater, 3 & 4 Forward (The Golden Mickeys).

I think I have devised a better solution for the Room Tour / Poker Run which won't require pre-planning. I'm pretty sure it will have to be the Day at Sea. Details to follow.

Thank you so much Kelly!

John - you are so AWESOMESAUCE! Thanks for putting this out there.

Question about the DISBoard meet - do you think we should have name tags or something like that? I have no problem introducing myself or asking someone who they are, I'm just thinking that it might be hard to remember the names. Any ideas?

DCL just posted a picture of CC on their Facebook page. You can see some brown spots in the palm trees but it looks good considering they just had a major hurricane! :thumbsup2

I think that would be a good idea on my behalf and maybe everybody's else to, I may get in trouble when I keep looking in my pants for my name. HaHa

THERE IS ANOTHER THREAD WHERE SOMEONE ASKED FOR PHOTOS OF THE ISLAND AFTER IRENE. SOMEONE POSTED A FEW PHOTOS AND A 7 SECOND VIDEO. ISLAND LOOKS THE SAME JUST A LITTLE BROWNER. THEY HAVE A PHOTO OD A CRAB WHO WAS NIPPING ON PEOPLES TOES:rotfl2: OH I THINK THE ONE PHOTO WAS FROM ON BOARD THE SHIP LOOKING OUT OVER THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE PIER WITH MANY SOMETHINGS SWIMMING. THAT IS WHAT THE VIDEO IS OF. MAYBE TERRIE SHOULDNT LOOK AT THAT SHORT VIDEO:scared1: I GUESS WHEN A STORM GOES THRU IT DISTURBS THE MARINE LIFE AND BRINGS DIFFERENT FISH IN TO FEED. I WILL DEFINATLY HAVE TO HAVE MY WATERPROOF CAMERA AND BRING DRIED CEREAL FROM THE SHIP TO TOSS AROUND ME TO GET SOME GREAT PHOTOS:cool1:

Pink = Not sure if they are actually offering their room, or just plan to tour?

Here’s what I’ve come up with so far. Since the people in the rooms we are touring won’t really know what they want to do on the ship during the day at sea until they see the Navigator the night before, I propose posting a blank sheet on my door with open time slots. Then sometime the night before or before 9am, they will mark at least one hour’s worth of time when they will be in their rooms. We will try to keep no more than two X’s in one column, so that we can tour other rooms too. Then Room Tour participants will stop by my door and pick up a blank sheet and transfer the marks to their sheet. Below is a SAMPLE of how it might look:

Cabin 9-9:30 9:30-10 10-10:30 10:30-11 11-11:30 11:30-12 12-12:30 12:30-1 1-1:30 1:30-2 2-2:30 2:30-3 3-3:30 3:30-4 4-4:30 4:30-5 5-5:30 5:30-6
8643 __X___ __X___ _______ _______ _______ _______ _______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______
6550 ______ ______ ___X___ ___X___ _______ _______ _______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______
7536 ______ ______ _______ ___X___ ___X___ _______ _______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______
8656 ______ ______ _______ _______ _______ ___X___ _______ __X___ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______
9020 ______ ______ _______ _______ _______ _______ _______ ______ ___X__ ___X__ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______
7124 __X___ ______ _______ _______ _______ _______ _______ ______ ______ ______ __X___ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______
9086 ______ ______ _______ _______ _______ _______ _______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ___X__ ___X__ ___X__ ______ ______ ______ ______
12516 _____ ______ _______ _______ _______ _______ _______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ___9:30pm___

Except that my room (9020) will probably take the first time slot in case anyone has questions. For those who want to play a hand of Poker along the way, I’m thinking of having a $2 entry fee. I will give each room a deck of cards to draw from. The more rooms you visit the more cards you have to make your best hand of 5 cards. There will be no draw at the end, so novice players have just as good a chance of winning as anyone, and we can help them determine their hand. The winner will take 2/3 of the pot and second place 1/3. If there is an odd dollar left over, it will go to the worst hand. I can’t remember what all we talked about last year. I think we were going to end up in the Holster’s room to announce the winners, so they might just write in the meeting time, or say after late dinner.

What are your thoughts? Are there any flaws with a plan like this? Any suggestions?

Did she say what the resolution was? I wish her the best!

She said all she can say is she is happy. She still will get married at the wedding pavilion. I think Disney has a sort of gag order on her. As long as she's happy :goodvibes

No power here since about 10a due to huge storm. Lots of trees and branches down. Police, AFD and Public Works very busy. The winds were strong enough to move our grill on the back deck. There is huge amount of damage all over Appleton. We are safe.

Can't wait to see your pirate costumes! I'm on the hunt for a sword and dagger too ... plastic this time though :upsidedow That sounds like a win win to me. He gets a cool pirate costume he likes, you get the fantasy pirate guy you like  It sounds like several of the ladies will be :cloud9: of Captain JS. Hmmm, I wonder if I can get Wally to wear beaded dreadlocks and eyeliner :rolleyes1
[/QUOTE]

So are we allowed to take plastic swords on board? I thought that I read some place that we couldn't.
Thanks

Hey John! That quite an elaborate plan! I've never done a room tour before so I'm not sure how most people do them. I was thinking we were just all going to go together and when we got to our particular room then we would just open it. But I guess that might get a little crazy to have that many people walking around together trying to get in and out of the rooms.

Sorry I can't give any more input on how to do the room tour.

Wow! Glad to hear you're all ok. Hopefully the city/town crews can get it all cleaned up today sorbet can enjoy the three day weekend! And I hope your power comes back on soon....it's HOT out there today. But by Monday it's only supposed to be in the 60's. :scared1:

John - in regards to the room tours do you think we need a full hour per room? I was thinking that since 8643 and 8656 are so close that those cabins could be one time slot and the same with cabins 7124 and 7536 and then again with 9020 and 9085. I was kind of thinking along the lines of what Debbie said about all going together to each room.

Just want to let you all know that if we're not touring until the sea day, don't expect our cabin to be "neat". :rotfl2:

Thanks for the good wishes. Still waiting for power. The radio says over 30K customers are out in Appleton alone including downtown. It was really bad. :scared1:

I would say each couple could see everything they wanted in 5 minutes, but we have about 35 people who expressed interest (so far). I know our previous inside cabin would be crowded two couples plus us. In fact, I'm concerned about Holster's room capacity.

It looks complicated but should be very flexible, since we don't really know what events people will be interested in, and when they will be held. I like the idea of rooms teaming up. Maybe the rooms you mentioned could work together to find a time that will work for both? Then they could draw their hand before or after their time.

Wait. How about this. The people from the rooms being toured will get together somewhere after we see the Day at Sea Navigator. Together we will decide on a 2 (?) hour time slot to hold the whole event. This time will then be posted on my door.

I will arrange the rooms in order of viewing. Everyone will show up at the first room at the posted time. The people from the second room will tour first, followed by the people from the third room, etc. This way the second room is open and ready for the next room tour. I would say that people might as well advance to the next room on their own or in small groups to keep things moving along. The room being toured knows everyone is through when the host from the previous room shows up (maybe plus 5 minutes).

We could probably get to the final room within an hour(?) for a social gathering and Poker Prizes.

PS Terri, I afraid we'll all fall into that category  Hoping we all have an attentive room steward.

Glad to hear you're both okay! Stay safe. Hope power returns soon, and there are no injuries!
