Waited too late to get Remy or Palo reservations - is on-board reservations possible/probable?

Celebrating 40 years of "happily ever after" on the Dream.

I haven't seen this answered yet ... You may be able to make reservations on board. They'll have the time and place to make reservations listed on the Navigator they should give you at check in. :thumbsup2

Happy Anniversary!!

Ever since I received the initial offer to join D23 I have wondered if it would be worth it for me.

I have never been to Cali, only go to FL once a year usually. Is there any real benefit to joining otherwise?

You get the magazine and it frequently comes with a cool prize inside. I've gotten collectible patches and a mouse pad. They've also sent me random D23 pins, a calendar, a journal and a watch. Oh and I happened to be in Dland when they had a D23 tweet meet and I got a free shirt (I'm wearing it now actually!).

I've never used it for any discount though. :confused3

Hi - Looking forward to meeting some of you on the cruise next month. I've been a member of Disboards for a couple years and have never actually posted anything. I enjoy reading and looking things up from time to time. Hope to meet you all soon....Lori and Mickey Martin

Welcome aboard! :boat:

junior, i read your post on the other thread, well said!!!!! Dvc at the top better smarten up and listen to present members. In my opinion it has nothing to do with the dvc cast members, they do a great job, its the ones who make the executive discisions who need to open their eyes.

Here is the Article:

=======================================================
Replacement for Jim Lewis to be announced in 'near future,' a Disney spokeswoman says

Wow. It'll be interesting to see what happens now. I know a lot of DVCers were not happy with the way he was running things. :confused3

Don't hug him he is Canadian it doesn't count! He is really a Jays fan

Along with the Red Sox and my DMV, I also like Canadians. My grandmother was born in Newfoundland and became a naturalized US citizen after her mother passed on and she came to live in Massachusetts with her aunt and uncle. :thumbsup2

Well, it's STILL pouring rain and storms (even a tornado warning - and here that's rare) so they postpone my Phillies game this afternoon. Now there's nothing on to watch and lousy outside - boohoo!! :rolleyes1

Hmmm, that is funny, it has been pouring here too! What a coincidence...

Mother Nature has a sense of humor. With me attempting to accomplish so much this weekend, she gives us the loudest thunderstorm and lightening fest I can remember in a long time. That means that my little guy was shaking so bad even if he had let me, I still could not have slept. Add on to that: When I got up I went to the basement to do some laundry and found it completely flooded. Needless to say, I had put many many many things on the floor to organize and get stuff ready since I am not supposed to lift anything after my operation!!!

Thank God I focus on trying to stay positive about stuff... :furious:

OH NO!! Sorry about the flooded basement! Been there...it's NOT fun to clean up! I hope you have a de-humidifier...they help a lot!

WE FIND DVC ISNT WHAT MAKES THE CRUISE SPECIAL ITS ALL OF YOU WHO DO. IM JUST STATING MY OPINION. AFTER SAYING THAT WE REALLY ENJOY THE CRUISE :[/B]

I totally agree!! :thumbsup2

Thanks Mick! I just want to see the fireworks from TOTWL once if you could make that happen ;)

You can join the rest of us on Sat., Sept. 24th...we're all gonna be up there watching them. There are plenty of us staying there.

Sometimes things go too far though. A friend of mine was telling me that one of the kids in her local PS school was pulled out of class and made to sit in the office all day because her socks didn't match. How is that ok? :sad2:

:confused3 I've heard of this happening. It just blows my mind that the schools are more concerned with what the kids are wearing than them actually getting an education. There was something on the news in Chicago a couple years back about a girl who's shoes weren't the right shade of blue or something so they sent her to the office. And the best part was...the dress code wasn't 100% specific, so she really wasn't violating the dress code after all. I think these schools need to evaluate their priorities!

Ouch! Hope it's feeling better now!

Thanks! Yep, she's fine. Except the glue came off one section of the wound, so I'm keeping butterfly bandages on it. I would go back to the ER and complain but I don't have three hours to spend there again. And my luck would be they would charge me twice. :scared1:

Yes, it seems that some schools start uniforming as a way to stop kids from bullying each other, but then in turn become bullies themselves. I think there's a fine line and common sense needs to rule.

Glad it's better. Yeah, I'm sure they would charge you again. :sad2:

Mickey - - - I really liked the pictures of your new kitchen. It is very lovely and appears to be laid out to functional.

Here is today's fun fact that I learned today. Construction of the Cologne Germany Cathedral began in 1248. It was completed in 1823. (Just a mere 6 centuries :confused3) And you just THOUGHT the kitchen remodel took a long time! :thumbsup2 :cool1: :lmao:

Well hopefully I will have some time to get on here tomorrow and chat. Children (grown) will all be gone. Shawn has to work, I dont have to work so I guess I can get on and chat tomorrow. :cool1:

Just finishing up at work today and now I have to head to Logansport to assist with shooting a fireworks show for the Taste of Cass County. Woo hoo $150 easy money in my pocket for helping. Plus I get to do my favorite thing and blow crap up! :lmao:

At anyrate, you guys finish out this thread this evening and I will talk to everyone in the AM on Thread #12.

Milford - - I have a good friend from here who does membership work with the Pyrotechnics Guild. Are you a member? I would be glad to hook the 2 of you up. :)

I read it also and I concur! :thumbsup2

Thanks Ian. Here's what I responded to over on the other thread for those of you who want to know

The disgruntledness from the members to me is a lot like the normal people at WDW that say "it was so much better when....". A lot of people want to remember a time when things were just rosy and great, but a lot of times that is more imagination vs reality. In a members "honeymoon" phase of owning DVC, they are always going to be happier, but as years go by and things change, they will start complaining.

This statement is unfair. It's like labeling an entire group racist yet there is only a couple people.
I've been a member since '97 and have loved coming here almost every year since '93. I come because I love Disney but I have noticed our perks becoming less and less. I miss the free valet, 10% off at the Disney store and some others. The new banking policy doesn't bother me but if what he said was true on why it was implemented, then I'm glad to see him go.

I was on last years SSMC and found it not to be as much fun as the very first one that I went on in '03. Friends we met last year said the "Freebies" every night became more and more cheap and they were using the same "Freebie" ideas and cruise names that were used on SSMCs prior.
With all the imaginative power behind Disney you would think that these "little things" would keep getting better and better! The only reasons they wouldn't would be OPERATING ON THE CHEAP and A DISASSOCIATION WITH HOW YOU GOT THERE! You need to keep your base happy in order to grow!!!! Word of mouth is KEY! I have walked by many a DVC kiosk and have overheard the conversation and hesitation of people and told them to just go, that it isn't a high pressure sales pitch and that it is fun getting all the info. I've persuaded quite a few over the years.

That's my 2 cents from a non insider. The "Magic" has dissipated for some time now and it would be better to have "The Best Kept Secret" than "Hey, I Wanna Talk To You bout Something". Here's to hoping things get back on the right track!
