Just checking in to keep the thread going! Hope everyone is having a good monday! :wave2:

OK...it is okay to post just to chat yall! How else will we get to know each other? It doesnt matter if you have anything meaningful to say! Sometimes the best cruise meets threads are full of fluff!
I finally got done school supply shopping. My kids go back on monday. They were supposed to start last mon but their school was not threw with the renovation. So now when they go back, they will ahve to do 10 make up days. 6 of them being on saturdays..

:wave2: Hey Friends!!

I have been so busy - I am sorry to have been so AWOL recently. DD started kindergarten today so it was an emotional day for us all. She seemed to have a good time and wasn't too worn out at the end of the day. I went to ds's parent orientation at preschool tonight. He has the same teachers that dd had at his age which is great since we liked them so much. Then we have meet-the-teacher for ds and open house for ds this week too.

Amanda princess: - I read that thread about passports. Guess I'll just wait and see how things pan out. DH, dd, and I all have them already so it would just be for ds anyway but if I can wait I will since they are only good for 5 years anyway.

As for the photo gallery, yes dh can take the pictures. I gave him the picture Darcy sent and he is ready for any others that I get. So just send them to me via email and I'll make sure he gets them and then I can let you all know where to view them.

Almost time to make reservations for our trip to DLR in October. Hope I can get everything we want. We are really looking forward to trying so many new places after eating at so many of the places in WDW. Although I have always been lucky booking CRT, I am nervous about trying to get a ressie for the Fantasmic Dessert Buffet - only 20 seats and we need 6 of them :earseek: There are only two nights that Fantasmic is showing during our trip so I guess we'll just hope I get real lucky!

I did book our WDW spring break trip for March. We are going back to BCV again - we love going there when the weather is warm enough for swimming etc. I'll have to start thinking about dining etc. once we return from our DLR trip. Anyone else going to be there in mid-March?

Hope everyone is well and I'll try to check in again soon!

Hi everyone! I'm still around too. Just trying to get settled here in Orlando. It's been about a month and a half now. I started my new job in downtown Orlando and the DH is delivering mail here in town. We have used our annual disney passes like crazy. Every weekend we go to Disney. On Sundays we spend the entire day at one of the water parks and usually on Saturday night we go to Disney Quest. The kids love that place. We have seen Wishes at the Magic Kingdom at least a dozen times. The DH never gets tired of it. The boys started school here on August 1st so this is their 3rd week back in school. I am so looking forward to this cruise. Why does it have to be over a year away still? Oh by the way, none of those little hurricane threats have hit Orlando. In fact, when the last one went by, it was sunny here.

Wow! Talk about quiet! :ssst:

I realize that my counter shows that we leave on Monday, but we don't actually leave until Wednesday. :( I was just too lazy to change the darn thing. At least it looks as if we'll be hurricane-free on this trip. Whoo-hoo!!!

Oh, and it's official - we are not switching to one of the Southern Caribbean cruises. We're too cheap. :teeth:

Hope everyone is well!

Karen :cat:

Hello Everyone!

Hope you all are doing well this week. It has been quiet around here - where is Karen, and Amandaprincess: , and Amanda01, and all my other great cruise buddies????? Stop in and say hello even if you haven't got much to say!

Darcy - hope you are having a fantastic time in Orlando. I am looking forward to all the details once you return.

Amanda princess: - any more details about your CO trip you want to share? Where exactly did you go? I know you said it was a somewhat stressful trip but did you do any particularly fun things? We are tentatively planning to spend a week or so next summer in the Estes Park area and I haven't done much research yet so I am looking for any information I can find!

Karen :cat: - hope you have a wonderful trip. Stop back in and share the details when you get back.

Well, we have had a busy week. DS2 started preschool on Monday. He had a fun day and is already ready to go back (he only goes on Mondays so he has a bit of a wait!). DD5 is in her second week of kindergarten and is adjusting nicely so far.

We finally bit the bullet and added 75 more DVC points at the Wilderness Lodge Villas on Monday. We have been talking about it and finally decided over the weekend to go ahead and do it. I called and asked if they had anything available and they just happened to have 75 points in our use year so voila they are now ours!! Couldn't have been easier and I already have plans for those points of course :rotfl:

Take note of the new addition to my signature. I am now officially registered and training for the 1/2 marathon at WDW in January. My aunt and her good friend are going to do the 1/2 as well and my mom and sister are going to come for "moral support." We are going to have a long "girls weekend" with my new DVC points - yay!!!

Well, need to get a few things done around the house before going to get dd at school. Have a great Disney Day everyone!!!

HI Rhonda I am still here! The kids started school on Monday so we have been trying to get into the swing of things. And I have been trying to prepare for my upcoming trip to WDW....

Hi all

I am planning a cruise for my mom, aunt, myself and DS. This cruise is my first choice. But since I have to wait to book (using DVC) points, I am getting worried there won't be any staterooms left. There are so many posts on this thread :teeth:

This will be a first cruise for all of us. I am really excited. I must admit I didn't read ALL the posts  Are there any other children out there?? My son will have just turned 5.

Tricia

Welcome Tricia - we are so glad you are going to be joining us! I will send you plenty of pixie dust that there is space left for you once your 11-month DVC booking window rolls around. We too are DVC owners but even with our recent add-on there is no way we'd have enough points for a cruise (unless we gave up our WDW trips and that isn't going to happen!).

We will be traveling with a 6.5 y/o dd and a 3.5 y/o son. There are other kids in our group as well but I can't remember if there are any just your son's age.

Once again, we are happy to have you joining our happy group!

HI Tricia! Dont worry am sure there will be plenty of room on our ship...I think that most folks will be doing the special 11 night sailing on the 17th....And there is only so many posts becasue we have been running our mouths! LOL We like to celebrate getting the Top Of The Page...we call them TOPs and we like to sneak in the milestone post IE post number 500 is coming up soon and it looks like I will be the pirate that gets to steal it!! hehehehe muahahaha

Hi Rhonda and Amanda

I am getting excited. LOL I just wish this cruise wasn't so far away. Everybody seems so friendly on this thread...Sounds like it's going to be a week long party on the boat.

Tricia, howcome you cant go ahead and book the cruise with cash and then switch over to points later? Excuse my ignorance, I really do not know a lot about DVC except that most people say it is cheaper to rent the points out, and then use the cash to sail, then to sail on points....

I am not sure, I haven't looked into it yet. But I am not sure if that is possible. I know the deposit part would be different. As for renting out the points. My husband and I just thought it would be easier (less stress) to just do it this way. We have the points available.

:cheer2: Hello Everyone, :cheer2:

I am so glad I found you guys. My daughter (age 7) and I are cruising with you. I got on the internet trying to find a way to talk to other people cruising with us and stumbled on this thread. I have never tried to participate in a forum like this. I hope I do it right. My daughter and I are cruising alone. We are hoping to find some families with children her age who will be on the ship. She wants to spend some time in the Oceaneers Lab, but is hoping to make a few friends quickly so that it will be more fun. Is there anyone who has children in her age group. She will be 8 by the time we sail.

I am dis-green with envy! It sounds wonderful! How are you doing with all this crazy weather you are having? Hope all is well with everyone in FL.!

Welcome Gail - we are happy to have you join our group!! Please stop in and chat with us when you get the chance. My daughter will be 6.5 when we cruise so although there is a bit of an age difference at least there will be someone near her age for her to meet in our group.

Amanda01 - what a cute puppy - love that picture!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

:earsboy: Hello Rhonda!

My little girl is so excited about the cruise. She will be so pleased to know that I have found someone with a little girl who will be on board with us. I will definitely continue signing on. Although our daughters will be in different clubs because of their ages, hopefully we can me on board and let them enjoy another activity together, swimming or something.

It's going to be so much fun having other families to talk to while we are waiting for the days to pass. As I said in my first posting, I am new at this and I'll need advice from you guys on how to add all of the fun touches like the time lines and things. I'm looking forward to getting to know the people that we will be cruising with.
