Hey! We have a in our midst! HAHA Congrats on your 1st big milestone post Gail! And welcome to the group! WOohoo! We like to chit chat around here and have fun! But sont worry the closer it gets to cruise time, the more cruise oriented this thread will become. Right now, it is more of a place to get to know one another and hopefully make some friends, with on another and for our kids!

Hello Amanda!

Last night, I went back and read through some of the posts (that's how I found out about the contest to get a top of the page and an even hundred post) the group seems fun. I stumbled on you guys trying to find a way to meet other families on the ship with children the same age as my little girl. She will be 8 when we sail. Do you have children? If so, what ages?

I'm looking forward to the chats. I had no idea that existed until I stumbled on it. My little girl and I went to Disney World for the first time in October 2004 and then went back March 2005. I would have loved to have known about this so that we could have meet families who were going to be there then.

We have already booked this cruise. We also have plans to try to go to Disneyland in March 2006 for the Anniversary Celebration. Those plans arent certain yet. I did see from reviewing the posts that there is a Mom in the groups from South California, I'm really looking forward to getting some information from her on the Disneyland trip to.

Being new to this, can I ask how you got the graphic for your name?

I have 4 kids, ages 10,9,6 and 2. However at this point, I am pretty certain that they will not be with us on this cruise. We are also taking the 05/27/06 Magic, and I do not feel I will be able to pull them out of school next year. So it will just be DH and I (hopefully) on our 2rd annual Sans Kids cruise! Woohoo! We are leaving for the 2nd annual on the 16th of Sept! LOL
My graphic was mde for me at another board that I post on, but I loved it so much I brought it here! LOL I just have it saved to my account at www.photobucket.com (free) and then I added it to my signature so it will show everytime I post.

Oh yeah Rhondas DH is going to keep a photo gallery for us, with all our pics so we can keep a face with a screename. We have done this on our 05/27/06 thread and it has really helped to remember who you are talking to! Rhonda, I have a pic of Steve and I, please remind me where to send it to!

I know I am signing on late and have missed everyone tonight. I have a seven year old that thinks she is seventeen. I had to take her and some of her friends to the movies and bowling tonight.

Amanda, getting to take two cruises sounds so great. I do wish your children were coming along on the Sept 16, 2006 cruise. I am afraid that there will not be many kids my daughter's age on the ship. I knew when I booked it that most kids her age would just be starting school. My daughter's school has a policy of allowing the students to make up any missed assignments if their trip has any element of education to it. I have discussed it with the principal and my daughter will be excused as long as at least one of the shore excursions is educational. Hopefully, there will be a few kids her age that will get to go.

Hey everyone...I'M BACK!!!!!!!
We had a wonderful time-weather was great-hot but great! USF and IOA are fantastic! we had such a ball-my kids were even selected to pparticipate in a taste test that earned them universal bucks and I was an "extra" in the Earthquake show-they dropped my 3 stories (or so it appeared) my poor DD thought it was real! DC was absolutely gorgeous! worth every penny! we did Seaworld too and if I was to do it again-I would do it first because it was quite a dissappointment after Universal and DC! My parents house is just beautiful and only 8 miles from the beach!
I see we have some new members-Welcome Gail and Tricia you have been added to our list-I keep a list of who's cruising, where you are from , ages of children and room number-if you'd like to share any of that info i will send it out to everyone in our forum via email when it is closer to cruise time.
I have twins my DD and DS they will be 11 at time of cruising. Well I have to get back to work! Talk to you all soon!

Darcy, glad to hear you had a great time on your trip! No bad weather, which we now know is the key to a great vacation!

gssmks......don't worry about kids on the boat there will be plenty! We have always cruised in the fall and there are tons of kids. Our cruise in a few weeks seems to be full as a matter of fact! Two of my three have already established some relationships and can't wait to meet their new friends.

Welcome home Darcy! It sound like you had a great vacation. Our information for your group list is: Gail and Merkie (DD age 7, will be 8 at the time of sailing), from Hindman, Kentucky, we do not know our room number yet.

Missy, thank you for your response. I have been worried. I went back and read all the posts in this thread and noone mentioned having children the age of my daughter. I realize that it's still a year away. I guess I'm just a little too excited. This is our first cruise ever. I am actually more excited than Merkie because she doesn't really know what to antcipate. I think she is comparing it to just going out on the local lake on our friends eight passengeer boat. I am trying to decide how close to the cruise I should wait before letting her watch the Disney DVD on the cruise and showing her the photos from the internet. Any suggestions?

Hi All,
I see this is a VERY busy thred. My family has been looking forward to a 7 night Disney cruise. We took our 1st cruise on the Wonder last December 2004. My kids did not spend too much time in the kids clubs, because there was too much to do, so I am hoping with a 7 night, they will be able to particiapate more. My dd will be 10 and my ds will be almost 8 at time of travel. Anyone else have kids this age? My daughter is shy, so it would be cool is she could "meet" a friend through email before we set sail.

LOL But we have fun and it feels like a family. We have already had a few pre cruise mini meets wich I hope we can do for this cruise as well!!

you have been added to our ever growing list of cruisers-you make #20! if you would like to share where you are from and cabin number I can add it to your info. the list will be sent out prior to cruising to everyones email or private message. My DD will be 11 at time of cruising (she has a twin brother as well)-she made an email pal for our last cruise and when they met it was sooo cute! she would love to make another friend. Her previous email pal is scheduled to cruise on this cruise as well although her mom hasn't joined this thread yet. if you would like to send me a private message we could exchange email or home addresses so the girls could "meet".

OMGosh guys..I am scared......It just took my 30 mins to wait in line to get gas. There is talk that gas is going to be rationed to only $10 per customer. It was 2.59 on the way to work this morning and I jsut filled up at 2.89........We are supposed to leave to ORlando 2mrrw, I am so scared of running out of gas. How is it looking in your parts of the country? I was listening to the XM radio and they said that gas was 3.55 a gal in Atlanta, ? Please tell me how the gas is looking in your parts, exp those of you in FLA. If there is a chance I will run out of gas, and be stranded I dont know if I should go 2mrrw

Oh Amanda - I am soooo sorry about this! I don't know anything about the cost or availibility of gas between GA and FL. I hope you are able to find out so you know if you can make the trip or not.

I haven't been on line all week. How is everyone? Was there anyone in the group who was directly affected by the hurricane? My heart just breaks for everone in the Gulf Coast.

Darcy I know exactly what you mean. We have made it a rule in our home this week that anytime one of us wants to complain about anything, we have to stop and think about how much we have and how little they have left. We are doing fund raising activities, but just seems so little when watching the scenes on CNN.
