Off to my Hawaiian Luau party! Have a great friday everyone!
Darcy

Now how do you propose your going to get the next one if your are not here waiting with bated breath? Don't you know that one can not have a life outside of the DIS? :rotfl:

Okay-it is too darn HOT! 102 degress here in lovely Northwest Ohio. Even the pool is hot! I am all for nice summer weather but please.....anyone else in a furnace? I just keep kicking myself for planning a trip to Orlando in the middle of August-what was I thinking!?!?! And me with MAJOR hot flashes (I am talking face beet red and sweating!) what am I gonna do? I already have tons of pocket fans and spray misters already packed! I was looking at this safari type hat with a solar fan attached-my DH says he won't go out in public with me if I wear it! :rotfl: Oh well-at least we will be close enough for me to run screaming into the pool!! happy Saturday everyone! Rhonda.. what did you buy TODAY?:) Hey, also, where is everyone staying before sailing-or are you coming in the day of?
Darcy

HI everyone, new to this thread. Hopefully me, DH and my mom & dad will be joining all of you next year. We're looking into it. Pricing all options. Looking at either at Cat 3 or 4. This year we'll be on the Sept. 17 Eastern cruise. Hi Missy I saw you're on this one too. Hope to be joining you soon.

Emily

Talk your parents into it Emily............this 2006 cruise will be even cheaper than 2005 and we are getting the kids their own cabin on this one. If you book now through DCL and then once on board get another quote from them with the 10% discount and $200 stateroom credit, you can then come home and switch to a travel agent and get all of their incentives! We will rebook this cruise while we are on the ship in September 2005........confusing but if you want to take champagne vactions on a beer budget you must be creative!!

Hi everyone else, Darcy we only have about 95 her in central Ohio. We came out of church tonight and a rain storm had come through........I swear we walked straight out into a sauna.

Talk to you all soon,

Missy

We'll probably book it. We just have to come up with the deposit first. Then will rebook on the ship in Sept. I don't think I'll have any problems convincing them it's just all a matter of when we can book it. Dad was the one who started shopping early, not me. I just the one who called to see if we could get a Cat 3

Emily

Welcome Emily - glad you may be joining us. We would love to have you as part of our group!

Darcy - It was only 99 here today but then again we're in Texas and it is supposed to be hot :) I lived in Ohio (outside of Akron) for 4 years when I was a kid and I don't ever remember it being anywhere near 100 degrees - yikes!

We all spent several hours swimming today - my stepdaughter came to visit so we cooked on the grill etc. It was nice - hot but nice.

For those who are interested :rolleyes1 I did not buy anything today - I am really on a roll now - 3 days without a purchase!! :rotfl:

As for the night before the cruise, I know we are planning to come in the day before (or maybe even on Thursday). I imagine we'll stay near the port - we stayed at the Radisson last time. Anyone else have a favorite place they would recommend? I thought about staying at WDW but Dh says he wants to be near the port the night before rather than drive in that morning. Maybe those of us who are there the night before can have a mini-meet - wouldn't that be fun?

Hope everyone has a fun Saturday night - I'll check in again tomorrow.

Hi all!! :thewave:
Just time for a quick hello!! We had Ashley's (DD11) birthday party :wizard: yesterday at a large park (the "outdoor" kind of park with lakes, lotsa grass, zoo, etc. ... not the play equipment type of park) nearby and it was HOT. Okay maybe only the high 80's, not 102 in Ohio, but I am a born and raised southern Californian and I hate any heat over 75 degrees!! But we had a great time, did the "Country Fair" theme with pie eating contest, lots of water type relay races and the kids had fun. Now I am trying to finish cleaning my garage and finish the kids' last two weeks of school. I gave them 2 weeks off to share the start of summer excitement with their friends from "real" school. ;) But we have about two more weeks of schooling to make mom/teacher happy. Then they will have the rest of July off and we are back "in school" August 1st. Not too much summer vacation for us the year, but since I hate the heat, it will work out fine. We still manage to get most of our work done by 2pm so that leaves several hours each day to go to beach or visit "the mouse" at DL. We do take the entire month of December off to enjoy Christmas, bake cookies, have family come share the holidays with us ... and we did take all of May off including the 14day repo ... I would say they are pretty spoiled. :earboy2:

DH just took the kids to the park for a couple of hours so I could get some work done and get a good headstart on this week's schoolwork ... so of course I headed right to the computer to say hi!! :rotfl2:

I do need to run. :dancer:

I will catch up on the posts later tonight. Take care all!!

Karen :cheer2:

Happy Birthday Ashley!!

Karen,

Sounds like you had a wonderful party for Ashley. I am sure she will always remember what a special day it was!

Your school schedule sounds very balanced - plenty of special family time without losing focus on education. I hope our new school allows us a very similar balance as it is very important to us.

Hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready for another week of summer fun!

THAT is exactly why I headed to the beach over the weekend! It was supposed to be VERY hot here as well, and I just didn't even want to think about being that hot! Imagine, the heat here is worse than in FLA, in my opinion. Darcy, I actually went to WDW last July and it wasnt as bad as I had feared. Just plan on taking mid day breaks at the pool ar water park. We will be staying 2 nights pre cruise with ericamanda01 and we are going to do a day at IOA together.....I forget where we are planning on staying but we will stay on property for that FOTL awesome access!!!

Oh man oh man how I wish you all were going with us this year Amanda! It just wont be the same without you 2...it is going to be strange :-(

Hey thats weird...where did my replies in the above posts get off to????

Welcome Kristin!!

Glad to have you as part of our group. How old are your dds? Have you cruised with DCL before?

Hey everyone - what's up with you all this week? It has been a bit quiet around here. This week is passing quicker than last and we are gearing up for a 3-day weekend. Anyone have big plans for the holiday weekend? We may go to Shakespeare in the Park and will definitely do some more swimming but otherwise we'll just be hanging around here I think.

Gotta go get a shower - just checking in here after my visit to the gym. Hope everyone has a great day!

Our DD's are gonna be 10 and 8. We went on our first cruise Sept 03 on the 4day Wonder. We had a blast and could not wait to go again. But alas it take time to save up all that money for a 7day.
