I thought we were gonna' be scott free on our sailing since the hurricane activity has been so quiet this year. Is anyone a little freaked out about Ernesto?!?! The Western that went out on the 26th became an "Eastern" and no live trip reports are out so we don't know where they're going. I really really wanna' go to Castaway Cay twice, I know there are no guarantees on ports, but I am more than a little freaked out. Anyone else, or is it just me?

Well, I'll be disappointed if we don't get both days at Castaway Cay, but it won't be the end of the world. It'll just be an adventure.

I don't care, I just want to get out of the heat and onto vacation!

Honey...our daughter Gracie is 3 and a half, and this is our 5th DCL, but her first! Where are you from in VA? We now live in central Penn but moved from NOVA 2 years ago. On our second DCL in 2002 we met a couple in line to board who were also teachers from FCPS and got married the excat same day we did.....as we continued to talk we soon realized we were seated at the same table for dinner! We had a great time wiht them all week and still keep in touch to this day. See you in 2 weeks!

WWW, I'm freaking out too! We usually cruise in Sept, so I am used to being prepared for anything, but if we don't make it to Castaway Cay, I will be heartbroken. It's the whole reason we booked the double dip. I could care less about Mexico!

I am with you! I gave up the 11 day cruise leaving on the 17th to go on this one ~ simply because it's a double dip. I will be so if we don't go to Castaway Cay twice. I don't give a fig about Costa Maya or Cozumel (even though we have excursions booked at both places) I wanna' go to Castaway Cay

Heck, I wanna LIVE at Castaway Cay! My sweet DD (who has been to many beautiful beaches) says it is the most beautiful place on the planet! I have to agree

I am a bit nervous about the whole hurricane issue - I knew when we booked the cruise that we would have the risk but now that it is getting close I am worried. I don't mind if we go to alternate ports but I can't stand the thought of not going at all due to weather delays or grounded flights etc. Can't imagine that we could rebook anytime soon at anywhere near the price we have and waiting another year to cruise would be so depressing!!!!

Our schools start next week, I can't believe that summer is amost over, then again, that means our cruise is that much closer! I have decided that Ernesto is going to be a tropical storm and all Florida is gonna' see is a little bit of rain. That's it...just rain, we're gonna' be fine for our cruise, and we're gonna' go to Castaway Cay twice and all will be well! I have decided, so that's how it's gonna' be! There Ya' go... I have put it out into the Universe!

Yay! it's raining here now. (Austin) Even my CACTUS was looking wilty. Sigh, I so can't wait to get to Castaway Cay and lay on the beach next to the beautiful blue (and very salty) water!

Ok, anyone know if the power outlets on board require any kind of converter???

I could find exactly what I did to set myself up. Mine is free but I dont know what the file sharing penalties are in the US.

Watched anything good lately? Last movie I saw was Eight Below, but ive got Inside Man, The Sentinal, Friends with Money, Two for the Money, United 93 and RV for this weekend. Any of these good?

Also my friend at work brought me Anna Karenina, heard of it but never read it yet, so basically Im screwed, between the reading and the movie watching, when Im I gonna get anything done for the cruise!!!!!!

Dis meet is deck 10 after the life boat drill, on the left side of the boat. Three days how exciting.

Amanda you only have a week, that is exciting also.

I finally have gotten the suitcases out. Dress and dh suit have gone to the cleaners. It's two weeks from today for us.

Lets hope we have no more hurricanes. I am like you Thea, I don't care where the ship takes us as long as we go to CC twice. It is a small piece of heavan on earth. Alone with those yummy konk koolers.

I don't get to keep 'em. Basically you just download them and watch them while they're downloading. You can't copy them to disk (I guess you could, but it's illegal) and they're stored on the vongo site. It's $10.00 a month. I think we'll only keep it this one month, it's neat though to flip through movies and pick and just watch one. I have about 200 VHS tapes that I should probably consider donating to Goodwill, as movies are so easy to watch now, and the tapes take up a lot of room. Same thing with my CD collection. I am thinking about buying an ipod or a scan disk music player before the trip...anyone own one? Can you give me ideas on what's a good buy?

I am in the same boat. I haven't even begun to start packing. Our "painted" luggage still smells funky from the factory...even though I have aired it out a lot over the summer. I am dedicating Labor Day Weekend to getting squared away for the cruise. The 8th, 9th & 10th is a big Renaissance Festival and my son's 16th birthday celebration so it's this weekend to pack for the trip or never. UGH. I have been planning this trip since January and now I feel like I don't have enough time.

Anyway, just have to get the two young ones to school this week and then move my Oldest baby to college on Tuesday....leave for a business trip on Wed be back on Friday and then hopefully I can think about this cruise.
You will know my family at the terminal...we will be the ones in our birthday suits-because Mom did not have time to shop or pack

I am too excited. Eric knows when he see's the big cheezy grin on my face to just ask how many day's we have left. I also pulled out all the suit cases. We are going to our inlaws this weekend and won't be home until late monday night, so I thought why not start packing now! That way I can unpack over and over! OCD, gotta love it!

My DH did the same thing. He had no idea what "docs" were. Now if it were some sort of computer part then that would have been a different story.
