Well, I'm home from church and DD is not feeling well either. She has decided not to go to her Dad's today. I am going to work at home and do what I can. Later, I will run to the office and pick up somethings that I can work on after she goes to bed. I live only a couple miles from the office. It comes in handy when I want to sleep in or when the weather is bad. We actually have a really good location. We could walk to DD's school if we wanted to. It's even closer than my office.

DD not feeling well has made me think of a question. She has allergies, which obviously is not contagious, but it does cause running nose and cough. When they get really bad, like they are right now, she will sneeze and, well you don't want me to describe it. My question is, do I need to get something from her doctor explaining this? I have read about families being denied boarding because of children appearing sick at the port and of people being quarentinec or denied access to the club and lab because of running noses and cough. What do you guys think? Should I call Disney and see if the medical form they have needs to be completed?

Gail
I think the only time boarding is denied is when you are showung flu like symptoms of vomiting and diareha...I would just make sure you have her allergy tablets in the original bottle and if there if a problem you can show that it is alleriges and not a cold

hmmm it seems search has been disabled again. I like to hit the "new posts" button and I get the serach has been disabled message...

I have one more question, if you guys will tolerate a WDW question instead of a DCL question.

I was just quoted a discounted package for my December Disney trip that seems too good to be true. Right now I have twelve nights, room only, at Pop Century for a little over $1,200.00 (tax included) I had planned to get annual passes, because they would be cheaper than MYW with Hopping for that many days. The AP for DD and me are more than $800.00. I have CP booked which is almost $100.00 for the two of us. The offer made to me is, if I agree to switch to All Star Music, I get the same number of nights, MYW tickets with Hopper for the length of my stay, and the dining plan for $1,857.47. I called Disney Dining and they said that the CP would be one table service meal from my Dining Plan. I see this as a way of getting free food for the length of my stay and a free CP Dinner package. I can't believe it.

My question is have any of you ever used the Dining Plan? Are there any drawbacks to using it verses paying as you go? Are there any secrets that are generally known about the plans to help get the best benefit from it or to keep me from making mistakes using it? Usually, something that seems too good to be true, ends up being mistake.

Gail we have used it 2wce. Once was last year for free. I liked it so much that we paid for it in May. No problems. The only thing I did not like was the sit down meals. I am not a planner at all. If I want to have a sit down meal today I do not know months or even days in advance that that is what I will want to do. So it was a bit tough for us to use our sit down meals. When we left we ended up with 4 left overs I think? This upcoming trip I am not going to do the dining plan, and I am going to hold onto all my receipts to compare. Because we are not normally sit down meal folks I think it will be cheaper..but we will see....sounds like a great deal! I say go for it! The only thing I see is that you will be losing out on the APs BUT if you are like me they end up costing you more money in the long run because they burn a hole in your pocket!

Gail-

First- thanks for the tip on Lands End. I looked there, but really want a tankini and need a far different sized bottom and top, and they're separates are still too expensive for me.

And- we considered the dining plan for our very short visit before the cruise. We decided not to go with it. It would have been a good deal, and there are all sorts of ways, which some people say are illegal/wrong to stretch those credits, BUT we don't need to eat the amount of food you get. In fact, we'd never be able to. So we decided against it. The dining board has tons of great info and even better fights (meow- some of them are almost as bad as the Resorts and DVC board).

Thanks for the info. She is really wanted to do the activities in the Lab, so you feel she will be alright there also?

Thanks for the info on the Dining Plan. I think I would be a fool to pass on this. Even if we don't eat all of the available meals, the ones we do eat will be free because just my resort and tickets will cost as much as this entire package. I am definitely heading over to see what they are arguing about over on the restaurant threads. I have been skimming through some of the other threads and boy it's amazing to me how much arguing is done over something that is supposed to be so magical.

Oh, as for over eating and gaining weight on the DDP, I plan to gain so much on this cruise that no one will notice the few pounds I put on over Christmas!!!

Thats the attitude! Uh uh I like it! lol

only a a few more posts to a new milestone 3100! We are moving a bit faster than we were!

Eric and I arrive on a Sat. night and will be there until the cruise leaves a week later. We got the dining plan, so we will let you know how it worked for us. But for the amount of money we would have spent without it, I know it will save us. The only ressie we made was for Cali grill the Sat. night we arrive. We got a 7:45 reservation, which surprized me. But the rest we will play by ear. Since we are west coast people our eating schedule is a little off, so eating dinner at a later time isn't a big deal to us. We will probable make out PS the day before based on the park we are going to.

Why do you think we cruise in Sept.?! It's right before sweater and coat season! :teeth: Between the dining plan in the parks and the cruise, I plan on gaining alot!

Just another reason we get along so great!

Well guys, I seriously have to get off of here and get some work done or I will be working late all week. I'll check in later and see if you guys hit 3100.

We're coming in Tuesday morning- spending one night at the Polynesian because I've always wanted to stay there (way to waste the DVC points) and the rest at BCV. Maybe we'll add the plan. I don't know. I talked myself out of it, because we'll be eating like pigs on the cruise and I didn't want to be bothered with making ADRs besides our Pooh breakfast which was a must. But you guys make it sound like such a good idea.

Same with MNSSHP.

Ahhh! I'm having peer pressure. Next thing you know you'll be offering me alcohol and trying to take me to a foreign country with you!
