I bet that Med. cruise will cost an arm and a leg and will sell out in a heart beat!

So is it just me is or are any of you ladies looking for a fancy party dress for formal night? I really want to dress up, seeing as how I never do. (I am actually sitting here typing in my home uniform: robe and pj's)

I'm hoping to fit into a gown I wore on our Oct. 04 cruise, but I weigh ten pounds more now than I did then. I was trying to go back on South Beach, which worked for me that year, but I keep getting horrible headaches. People told me if I could just put up with it for a few days I'd be fine, but I have 3 kids at home so I can't be headachy and grumpy. Im fact, I'm going through it right now, and I'm ready to give it up. If the dress doesn't fit, I guess I'll just have to buy a new one.

I think most of my party will be dressed up pretty formal - we have been shopping - but decided to wait until all the formal dresses go on clearance after May! (and I am in my PJ's too!) Long day at work with those 4th graders LOL!

We will get dressed up for formal night as well - it's once a year that I can get the boys in something besides shorts & t-shirts!

I have been looking on ebay for a dress, hey it's where I got my wedding dress so why not. I really want to go all out formal. I love the idea of really dressing up. I might even get my hair done at the salon. Now that would be a treat!

I am in the process of losing weight. I was on an antidepressant for migraine treatment. My dr. failed to tell me that one of the side effects was rapid weigh gain. So here we are one month after starting it and 10 pounds heavier. Needless to say I switched meds. Now this new stuff has a side effect of weight loss. So I am hoping to even out in the next few months, and maybe lose a little extra.

Wow, what migraine med is this? I get migraines- my doctor has asked before if I wanted meds for them and I told him no. I'm hysterically anti-med (not good for someone who might become a nurse). My daughter also gets terrible migraines at 11- with vomitting, etc. She takes medication, but just for the vomitting.

Maybe I should too- especially the weight losing one.

Anybody ever use the tux rental on board? How is it? Dh and ds had to rent tuxes for a wedding, and ds looked so cute. we were thinking of doing it again.

It's called Topomax. I believe it was originally for seizures. My mom and sister started taking it around Oct, and it has worked like a charm. The women in my family have a long history with migraines starting at around 13 years old. My mom still gets them, but not nearly as much and the Topomax has almost stopped all my sisters, she's 15. I am really excited about anything that will cut back all the imitrex I have to take. Don't get me wrong I love imitrex, it works like a dream, but I would rather not have a migraine in the first place. It's intreasting that we have 3 different ages using it, 55, 31 and 15. So we'll see how it affects each of us. I'll let you know how it's working.

Julie - check out eBay as well. All three of us got outfitted for less than the cost of a rental and then I re-sold them when they grew out of them. True, you have to pack them but we just took 1 suitcase for all of the formal wear for the 5 of us so it wasn't a big deal.

That is a great idea! I will have to pass it on to the folks that would need a tux - as the single gal in our group that rules me out!

I was thinking of checking out the local stores that are stocked up with prom dresses. There are some that are pretty nice. Nothing like the prom dresses of my day, late 80's, full sequences, puffy sleeves and big hair to match.

Thanks tstobb. We bought dd's dresses she wore for the last two cruises there- poufy purple things. Now, she's about into junior sizes, so I have no idea what we'll end up with. On the other hand- dd #2 will be about a size 2T- and we have no dress up dresses in that size, so back to ebay.

For the guys- we just did dark blue suits the first 2 cruises. Wanted to try something different this time.

Had a horrible migraine the other day! They're not as frequent as they used to be, but man when I get them I'm laid out. My dd 11 gets them more frequently, not as severe. My older sister gets them, so I'm thinking family predisposition.

Thanks for the info. I'll be like the people in the medicine commercial- with the list of meds when I go see the doc next time.
