Good Morning Everyone!!! I hope everyone is up and going today. It's a very special day at our house. Today is DD's 8th birthday. Her party is not until Sunday, but we are celebrating today also.

Just lurking lurking.....its funny the post from out last cruise is more active than this one
Congrats on the birthday Happy Happy!!!
I am still out looking to see if we can sneak in a trip to Disney World before our annual passes expire in Feb. Would love to go for the holidays, but with two in my house in retail...this is next to a cardinal sin.
I am still so excited about the SPH rooms, we had these about 4 years ago and we loved them, but then again I would just sleep on deck 4 in a chair if they let me
Need to stay focused and work so I can pay for all of my little Disney fixes.

goofysgirl, I understand about the retail thing! I spent nearly 20 years in retail, with most of it in management. Never again!!! I still don't travel over holidays due to my pet sitting business (Busy Busy Busy!), but I can at least take vacations in November and December now!

Here's hoping you can squeeze another trip out of those APs!

For the second day straight, I am doing something that I never get a chance to do: check my e-mail at the office. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing though. I'm just getting so excited about our first cruise.

Anyone else having crappy, cold..no bitter cold weather? A balmy 25 degrees and snow flurries in good ole Nortwest Ohio! Great weather for the upcoming Ohio State (YEAH!! Go Bucks!!! ) michigan
crazy: boo, hiss, boo hiss ) game on Saturday though.
So what is everyones plans for Thanksgiving? My sister and BIL and their kids (and puppy) are coming up from Georgia. We adults are going to the Falcons-Lions game on Turkey day then deep frying a Turkey when we get back.

Hi all-
Well Turkey day here is very festive, as DH and I went to rival high schools, and the Rivalry lives on! My oldest will be home from college rooting for my Titans as they are hers also. My middle daughter is in the flag squad so she will be out there rooting for the Titans and my youngest will root with us just to get her father going! Poor man he is so out numbered but then again he was a Trojan!
We"ll come home in the afternoon to a feast with my brother and his family, and then we crash.....until it is time to go to the park and see all of the Christmas lights.
Then...DH is a store manager for Wal Mart- he will be out the door by 4:00AM and the college chic works for Old Navy so she will be out by 4:30AM....thank God I have the normal job, I will be off shopping
Is it time to go yet?

Thanksgiving...

Ever since my Mom died , my sister has taken over "Holiday Duty". It's usually a pretty good crowd: my Dad, two brothers with wives and kids, sister's family, my late brother's kids , and my husband and myself. We're a rowdy bunch, so it's a lot of fun when everyone gets together . My husband has to work (stupid bad-guys don't take holidays off... ), so he'll join us a bit late. I always have several clients over any holiday, so I'll have to take off before the party dies down. My poor sister makes a ridiculous amount of food! I bring my own entree, though - this month marks my 21st year as a vegetarian. With my husband getting ready to move to Virginia, these holidays will be bittersweet...

Darcy, it's nice to see you back! Even though I live 20 minutes from Ann Arbor, I'll be rooting for OSU. I can't stand U of M!!! And, yes - it's stupid cold here. Currently 20 degrees. Yippee. I haven't even finished raking the leaves yet. Grrrrrrrr...

just sitting here at work (it's about 5 am and still crazy busy) but needed a break from it all and decided to pop in for a looksie! my beloved Buckeyes won over Michigan I, however, slept through it because I had to work third shift and needed sleep badly! no one likes a sleepy ER nurse! Hope all is well.

Yup one perk of retail. Discounts at Wal Mart 20%, Old Navy 20% on sale items and she gets 40% on full price.
Its funny since she got the job at Old Navy, she rarely shops there but she gets 50% at GAP and Banana Republic, so she can do some real damage there!
Now if my other daughter would just get a job at Abercrombie and Fitch, we would be golden. These girls could put me in the poor house with their clothing requirements
Homecoming was this past weekend, the two oldest went, dressed to the nines, I think I saw misty tears in Dad's eyes for the first time. Our girls are growing so fast, wasn't sure they were getting out of the house with those "BOYS". Good kids though so we let them loose for a little while
Looking forward to the holiday, I love it when we can all spend time together without one of us rushing somewhere.

Hey guys I have a question that I've been meaning to ask. Has any of you ever had a problem with your children wanting to stay in the kids clubs? Our boys were 5 when we cruised the last time so they were in the Oceaneer's Club. They had us paged like 15 minutes after being there asking us to take them out. They just didn't like it. When we told them that we were planning this new cruise, they were both happy except that they begged us not to put them in the club. They will be 8 years old when we sail in September so they will be in the lab this time around. I am hoping that they will like it better than the Oceaneer club. Have any of you had any trouble with the clubs like this?

wow...I can"t say that I have my girls loved everything about the clubs right from the beginning. Maybe you could sit with them and circle things they might want to do from some recent Navigators? The lab is a whole lot different than the club, many more "grown up" kid things to do. Also, I would try to get the kids hooked up on line with other kids going on this sailing same age group, so they can look forward to meeting up with their new buddies...
We could never get our 9 year old out of the club..but last year she was 10 and I noticed that she did more swimming and other activities, the club was not so much a priority for her , but she is looking forward to new adventures in the Lab this time around.
