09/16/06 Double Scoop Group- see ya real soon!!

Hello all count us in for the 9/16/06 double dip!! This will be our 10th wedding anniversary treat! Let me introduce ourselves to you. My bride, Jami, (32) and I, Sam, (33) have a DD (5) and a DS (almost 2).

We have been on a DCL before, but it was a 4-day. We are both very excited about 7-days and the double visit to CC. The kids will be staying with the Grandparents. We did not take the DD on the first cruise either. In fact, as you can see by our signature, the first cruise we brought home our own little Disney souvenir.

Portland is having the most beautiful weather, 75 degrees with sunshine and a light breeze. It's the perfect weather. So hopefully that explains where I have been! I know that we still have a year left but I am so excited!!!!!

We just got back from our first DCL cruise, a 4 day on the Wonder for our honeymoon and while on board we had to re book and we just loved Castaway Cay so we will be there as well. Just can't wait though.

We took our honeymoon in Sept 04 and loved the off season. We love how quiet the parks are and the heat isn't so bad. Anyway welcome to our cruise meet. The host of our thread is currently on the Wonder, Dzneprincess.

Greetings all!

Sorry that I've been absent, but things have been crazy!!!

Right after we got back from WDW for DH's 40th Birthday, said husband was offered a job in Northern Virginia. Yikes! I have never lived anywhere but the Metro Detroit area - big changes ahead! Since the job is with the Federal government, it's taking forever and a day to get the "official" start date. We went down last weekend to find him an apartment. Yep. Find him an apartment - I won't be going with him just yet. We have some darn good reasons for me not to go, but... I'm going to go crazy without him! He's my best friend, and we do everything together. This is a good move for him (and us), but to say that I'm not looking forward to the separation is an understatement. <Sigh>

And about that trip to WDW in August: Yikes! Now I know why we like to go in May! I think that we spent more time napping in the air-conditioned room than we did at the Parks! (Not really, but we certainly didn't spend as much time in the Parks as we normally do.) I'm not complaining, though. It's Florida. It's August. There will be wilting heat and daily rain. Just like there's numbing cold and snow in Michigan in January. One just needs to accept and move on.

Ooops. Kind of a long post. Thanks for reading the rant, though.

So there's a mini-meet for the 30 somethings? Count me in! I hope everyone had a great weekend. Our was good and topped of with the return of Desperate Housewives! Yeah it's back. Classes start today and I start my first full day at the bank. Why is it that when your board noting happens, then when it does it all comes at once?!! Oh well, in less than a year I won't even remember today, but I will be relaxed from the cruise!

Hello to all of my fellow 9/16 Cruisers!

Sorry to have been so absent lately. We have had a terrible cold/allergy thing going through the whole family the last few weeks and I haven't been up for much. Hopefully we are at the tail end of it now so things can return somewhat to normal.

I can't believe we'll already be back home a year from now. I hope the time until we get onboard goes quickly but I would sure like the week on the ship to go slowly!!

Amanda - that was me that asked for the coloring books. Thank you soooo much for getting them for me. I'll PM you my address and you do the same and tell me how much I owe you, okay? Hope you enjoyed your well-deserved "no kids" vacation!!

4Gus-Gus & Figaro - congrats on your husband's new position and I hope your separation isn't too long.

Sorry I've been gone for soooo long....Less than a year to go! My co-workers are already tired of me mentioning it. I think it's going to be a long year for them - listening to me get excited about the double dip!!!
