Been off all weekend.

Thanks for the dress offer Princess Amanda. Dd is a size 5 or maybe a 7 junior in gowns though. When I looked at the Jessica McClintock size chart she was a size 9 junior. She's 12 years old for goodness sake.

We're going with the dress she has with a shrug of some sort over it.

Time to get back to school.

Julie

Ok if you are sure....

:rotfl: I'm with Jeff! Me and Mekayla will join you guys on deck in the early AM but we're gonna' sit on the deck chairs with our frozen yogurt (and cookies) and be your cheering section! :rotfl:

Seashells - we didn't go to the pool after all. I went to Trader Joes and we got Feta cheese and quatro blend and spinach and chicken and terriaki sauce and pizza dough and made home made pizzas. They were amazing. Then we had movie fest on Sunday (we signed up with Vongo) and downloaded movies all day. I thought about you too, while we were downloading our first flick {I knew you'd be so proud}

Sorry what did you say? I got lost when I had to wipe the drool of my keyboad somewhere around terriyaki......

Hello, My name is Tonya, my husband Matt, our son Matthew (10) and our daughter Mackenzie (5) will be on this double dip cruise and we just can't wait!! Another family is traveling with us and they have a 9 yr. old son, but no little girls, so I was hoping to make a connection with another mom, of a 5 yr. old girl, who would be interested in doing some emailing, so that our daughters would go into this vacation ready to meet a new friend. Our last Disney cruise was about 1 1/2 years ago and we met a wonderful family from New Jersey (We are from VA) on these boards and our kids just had a great time together on the ship.

I look forward to hearing from some "I just can't wait" cruisers, like ourselves!

Hi tonya and family welcome aboard!!!!!!!!!! If you check the first post of this thread on the first page there is some info..I have tried to keep it updated but the closer we get to sail time the more hectic it gets around here! But any ???s feel free to jump in and ask...we wont bite (hard!)

I thought we were gonna' be scott free on our sailing since the hurricane activity has been so quiet this year. Is anyone a little freaked out about Ernesto?!?! The Western that went out on the 26th became an "Eastern" and no live trip reports are out so we don't know where they're going. I really really wanna' go to Castaway Cay twice, I know there are no guarantees on ports, but I am more than a little freaked out. Anyone else, or is it just me? :confused3

I know it is late but no I was not worried about it.....some rain and that was all more rain the day after then the day of....BUT as long as I am on the Magic I will be happy.....

Well, I'll be disappointed if we don't get both days at Castaway Cay, but it won't be the end of the world. It'll just be an adventure. :)

I don't care, I just want to get out of the heat and onto vacation!

yeah yeah what she said! Only you said it mo better then me! :thumbsup2

Are there only certain restaurants open for the party? We don't want to do a character dinner necessarily. We want to enter the park at 4pm, do some rides until about 6pm, then eat between 6 and 7pm. What restaurants are generally open then? It seems like, for the Christmas party, there were only 2 or 3 restaurants open, and no counter service.

Judy
When we were at the christmas party last year they closed all the resturants for the hour they were clearing out the park. Which really made me upset becouse they didn't tell us this and when we were there the year before at the mnsshp they didn't do this, so needless to say we had no where to feed our kids and they were starved. We would have ate at the hotel had we known but we wanted to hurry and get there, so I would check with the hotel before you go hungry if when you are planning to eat is the hour that they are clearing out the park......
things change so quickly at the parks that they could have changed it back to having them open again.....
amy

Ok I know I have asked this question but I don't think it was answered...
What time is the meet and where? I thought I read something about deck 10??????
One more question is anyone going to have a updated list on rooms and dinner times?

WWW, I'm freaking out too! We usually cruise in Sept, so I am used to being prepared for anything, but if we don't make it to Castaway Cay, I will be heartbroken. It's the whole reason we booked the double dip. I could care less about Mexico!

Hey now! Dont be dimissin my el cheap $20 massage in Mexico! LOL

I am with you! I gave up the 11 day cruise leaving on the 17th to go on this one ~ simply because it's a double dip. I will be so :furious: if we don't go to Castaway Cay twice. I don't give a fig about Costa Maya or Cozumel (even though we have excursions booked at both places) I wanna' go to Castaway Cay :sad1:

Ok now it just means that it was fate for us meet.....because I really wanted to go o nthe 11 day too but SOMEONE...who shall remain nameless but has the same name as me......said she wanted the doulbe dip! LOL

I looked into this too. If I remember correctly, WDW-DINE indicated that there was availablity at 6:50 at Tony's when I asked but indicated that dinner would take over an hour, which I thought take away too much time from the event. I opted for lunch at 2:30.

Let me know if you find something in the 5-6pm range as we would be interested (there are 4 of us).

Heck, I wanna LIVE at Castaway Cay! My sweet DD (who has been to many beautiful beaches) says it is the most beautiful place on the planet! I have to agree :thumbsup2
maybe if we stage a coux (sp?) on the last day we can stay???

Honey - our daughter is 6 and would love to exchange emails with your daughter if she is still looking for a cruise friend. You can send me a PM or an email if you are interested!

I am a bit nervous about the whole hurricane issue - I knew when we booked the cruise that we would have the risk but now that it is getting close I am worried. I don't mind if we go to alternate ports but I can't stand the thought of not going at all due to weather delays or grounded flights etc. Can't imagine that we could rebook anytime soon at anywhere near the price we have and waiting another year to cruise would be so depressing!!!!

We finally broke our horrific heat wave this week with temps below 100 and RAIN. We have been in such a bad drought - it was glorious to see the rain coming down and dd and I even saw a rainbow on the way to school today

Rhonda whatever happens weather wise, as long as you can get to the ship..it is very unlikely that the sailing will be canceled...sooo that being said our itinterary may change but hey we are on a cruise and usually incentives are offered if such a thing happens....its all good disappointing? yes..but such is life...I have saioled this week for the past 3 years and have always went with the outlook that as long as I can get to the ship all would be good and anything else is in Gods hands :-) Makes for a lot less stressful pre trip time

Yay! it's raining here now. (Austin) Even my CACTUS was looking wilty. Sigh, I so can't wait to get to Castaway Cay and lay on the beach next to the beautiful blue (and very salty) water!

Ok, anyone know if the power outlets on board require any kind of converter???

Just marking my place....I am only on TUES one week ago!!! Yeewsh you people talked a lot while I was gone! Woohoo!!!

I love new posts!

PS Nette, no converter need for outlets but and this goes for everyone there is only ONE outlet on the vcanity desk area and it does not work well with pulgs that have the ac adapter on the end..please bring an extension cord and save yourself some aggravation!

OK I am at top of apage 231 post number 3452

Welcome back Amanda, glad you had a great time, you will have to fill us in on your little mishap in the parking lot.

Will we be able to see the sail away party from the outlook bar? I am so ready for those frozen drinks.

It looks like storm # 6 is staying east of Florida. Lets hope it stays that way. We will put everything away this week end just in case.

A week from today we will be driving to Orlando

Keep reading Amanda, you have a lot of catching up to do. We have missed you and Thea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My DH has not packed a thing either. He's a big boy he will figure it out. :confused3

OK dont laugh but I was seriously thinking of actually taking my tennies this trip and using the workout room.....early in the AM's....hmmm just a thought a this point but it is the thought that counts right???

Dh gets up around five and RUNS on vacation- five miles almost every day. The only running I do is up to the dessert buffet.

I think I might walk some this cruise, since I usually ride a stationary bike at home, but don't like the real complicated ones like they have in the fitness center.

Julie

guys I have a confession to make..I logged into PMs to get a message to THEA and I remembered I offered to make a stateroom nifty list for us....uhm have not done so..is there anyone willing to take this over for me??? I can forward all PMs with that info to you..please? If not I will still do it, but if anyone has any spare time and can make it on a cute background or something ti would be appreciated.....let me know VIA pm please I still have a long ways to go to get caught up on the thread....

PrincessAmanda-

If you keep reading- you'll see we got the dress to fit! We had it fitted with different undergarments (as this is a mixed gender board I'll refrain from the using technical terms) than the ones she re-tried it on with. All fixed by going back to the original strapless undergarment we used. So now she can wear her lavendar and white dress.

I really miss the days of little girl frilly dresses.

Julie
