Did you notice they spelled Maine wrong?!

Yup... it was an odd tasting lobster... kind of funny texture! Hah! Seriously, I just asked the seafood manager at the local Ralphs supermarket about his lobsters. They were $12.99/lb up to 1.5 pounds and 14.99 a pound if over 1.5 pounds. Plus his were labled Maine Lobsters - but the claws had a twisty and tag stating they were from Canada. So I asked what was the reasoning... he said the Maine Lobster name was in reference to the species which was a cold water variety with the huge claws and dark shells. There are Pacific Lobsters that have no claws but long poky whip arms. And, of course - the lobsters we get are the light colored, spotted shell carribean tails. I do not know whether they have claws or not.

So - I guess the programmer at the market was lazy about the spelling... and I can't complain at less then half the price of Ralphs' super market and probably 1/3~1/5 the cost per pound in the average seafood restuarant!

So on another note... we just enrolled our older daughter in a Karate class. The school has 3 locations in our area and one flat price of $200 a month entitles us to 4 private 30 minute lessons and unlimited access to group classes at any of the three locations. She is 5 (nearly 6 Y.O.), ... does anyone have any experience with karate classes - and if so does my package sound typical? I have nothing to compare against.

Hi to everyone, I haven't been on for a few days. We have been without power for a couple of days from a lovely ice storm. There is so much tree damage everywhere. We are going to have to cut two of our trees down. Both have major broken branches. They would just look ugly if we tried to keep them. See the pictures and be glad you don't have this weather right now. And if you do well I feel for you too.

Got it here in KCMO but just not as bad. It was a few years ago we went without power for at least eight days due to an ice storm. Man it was cold in that house without heat.

Welcome to Jennifer48. We have stuff in the planning. One of the items is a lunch time get together to celebrate our individual celebrations. We have a large number of folk celebrating anniversarys and birthdays. We are thinking about eating lunch together the last full day at sea at about 11:30. This will be confirmed as we get closer. Capt.Crash... Dh said"bring on the butter!!!" Also, our son and daughter did Karate, both loved it and came home all the time from meets with ribbons and trophies.
Prices fro lessons sound about right to me.

captaincrash, Great that your daughter is starting Karate. When I was younger, my older brother, sister and myself took Tae Kwon Do for about 5 years. We didn't always feel like going sometimes, but I think it was very worthwhile, and glad we did. Good discipline on many levels. I think the prices you idicated sound reasonable.

... and we ran out of butter... and I never got more then that 1st taste! My spouse and kids polished the thing off without looking for me to share it with em'! Waaahhhh! Oh well... I'll have to just get one for myself later on!

OK... my spouse saw what I just wrote above so she dug out a claw that she had stashed and gave me a 2nd and 3rd bite. Wow... so she DOES care aout me ... a little.​

And for many of us that are doing a back to back, some are coming on 8th to 15th and others are joining on 15th to the 22nd and the last group are from 22nd to the 29th. So there is, almost an entire month.

I like Mickey's Magical Gang. Although I'm not as lucky to be cruising back-to-back like some of you are. I hope you all have a fantastic time! And make sure you write trip reports so I know how it went!

First and foremost, welcome to the newbies, it is gonna be My future wife megan, her son joey, and I on this cruise, just wanted to say welcome.

Wedding update
Well after some bickering with the reception hall we finally have things worked out. Seems when we visited the place the lady neglected to tell us there was a minimum charge...well we got them to lower the minimum charge to our price range. So we definitely have a reception site, i get to go sign the contract and write a fat check tomorrow. We are getting photo's done to put on our invitations, going to register at a few places and maybe go try some cakes this weekend. I also have a dj booked already. Now we just mainly gotta worry about the photographer and flowers. But at least the important stuff is out of the way and since she already has her dress and the bridesmaids have theirs, no worries there. Oh and the priest finally called us back so we get to go to the catholic classes march 3 and 17th. We are getting there and less than 4 months to go, oh our official date is may 12th at 11 at our lady of good hope in sterling virginia.

I like the name mickeys gang, and if we do that, then our little group should get gangsta outfits and wear them on of the casual dinner nights or for lunch. Before we know it this cruise will be under way. Ok, gotta get ready for dinner. See everyone soon!

Were not doing the back 2 back cruises either...But I like Mickeys Magical Gang! Its cute!

I have been looking for some tough looking Mickeys. I have a few that I like. I'll post them tonight.
I think there are 6 families that are doing a B2B on 8-15 to 15-22
then there are 5 families that are doing the B2B on 15-22 to 22-29.
This "meet"site is the medium ground that all the B2B'ers are here.


My heart goes out to you and Megan and your wedding plans. I think my entire wedding cost $500.oo way back when in the 70's! A friend designed and made my dress $o.oo my grandmother paid for the flowers $o.oo
Parents paid for the hugh BBQ reception $0.oo
I think the only things we paid for were rings and the rental of all the tuxs.I have a very different story when our 3 kids got married! 3 in 3 years!

I love these ports! Dh and I did the first cruise that Magic made to these ports! I feel like its going back home.

I guess now is as good a time as any -

- we are considering changes to our sailing on this voyage. We have two things impacting us... 1) my FIL just refused to begin chemo last nite - and he has a greater then 50% chance for remission at his age and stage - which is sad. This may change our emphasis to spend as much time as we can with him this year - including taking familiy leave. 2nd) we are considering a change to follow the Magic when it goes to the west coast in 2008. This will cost us a lot more $ but it sort of delays things and may fit into our evolving situation.

Oh well... there it is.

I am sorry to hear about your FIL. You need to care for Family First. However, I am sure you will be missed on this cruise. I was looking forward to meeting you and your family. I'm sorry to hear about your FIL captaincrash. I was looking forward to meeting you and your family. But like Grandma4ever said, family has to come first. I hate priorities in life don't you? They always get in the way of the fun. But, you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Best of luck with your decision.
