!!! #400 !!!

:surfweb:
So when do you sleep? Thanks for moving us past the 400 mark. Mouser/Lois

Okay, ya'll need to get some sleep! :rotfl:

I have to vent now. I HATE the traffic in Northern Virginia. Last night because of Halloween it took me an hour and a half to get home. No accidents, just volume. This morning I sat for 40 minutes with my car off because an accident tied up all FOUR lanes of traffic on the road. Took me over 2 hours to get to work. :furious: I've had it! GRRRRRR!

Okay, thanks for letting me get that out. Hope everyone has a good day.

I had to ask.... was this perhaps a typing mistake??? That is, the TWENTY FIVE number above?

No, that is not a typing mistake. From 1976 to 1997 when he died he had that many heart attacks. All were small and some might have just been an irregular heartbeat. But my MIL always called them heart attacks and he was always hospitilized over night. He was even taken to the ER the night we got married because he had forgotten his medicine for 2 days. The sad part was surviving all that and then to die from Alzheimers. He was 83 so he had lived a good long life, but still.....MIL is alive and kicking at 92. She is in great shape for someone 92. :goodvibes

Thanks again for all the comments.

Megan- just move! LOL! I hated the traffic there too...and the congestion and just how darn crowded everything was! LOL!
Hang in there girl. :goodvibes

Small update....things are worsening...chaplain was here today and the hospice nurse will be shocked if he lasts through the night. Tough night and day again....but I am doing my best to be strong for my mom and family....but I am exhausted....Hope my dad finds peace soon. Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers. Hate to keep up the sad stuff. :guilty:

As for good stuff.....is it cruise time yet?? LOL! I am gonna need this trip!

Kamy,

Thanks for the update. You have been so open with your dad's condition and I know am not the only one who thinks about him and how you all are doing. Please take care fo yourself too. I'm concerned about you getting the rest you need for both your sons. It's the mom in me I guess.

We are here for you.

Prayers and hugs to you and yours :grouphug:

Megan,

Sorry to hear about all your traffic woes. :sad2: If you do decide to move, Orlando isn't any better.

Kamy,

I'm sorry things are getting worse. Much love to ya'll and big hugs and kisses to Ry-ry.

I suppose I'll just have to get a punching bag for my dashboard, because you know there's no way I'll ever get Patrick out of northern virgina. Le sigh. :surfweb:

I hope this works. If it does it is a picture of Janet (Navy Blue), Lois (Red), and the grandkids. They are the good looking one. The picture was taken on the magic in September of 2006. It seems like a long time ago but it was only a handful of days compared to the wait ahead of us. Lois

That's rather amazing to me...

... and it is also nice to hear your MIL is doing so well at ... NINTY-TWO!

My Dad has had a trans-(hoz dis spelled?)-izschemic attack which is otherwise thought of as a baby heart attack. So the notion of a mild stroke or heart attack is not unknown to me. But the idea of 25 is significantly different from what I would have assumed possible. Especially the notion of counting and keeping track of so many "events".

 Amazing stuff...

GM4ER...

Thanks for the encouragement.... I noted that no one was around yesterday so I decided to pass some of the evening with a little bit of "whimsy" with reaching for the 400th posting. In past cruise meet forums we've actually had stlaking sprints for who would attain a given
"century posting". Ocassionally it was worth a few pointless chuckles too among those who were in on the regular sprints and stalkings!

As for when I sleep? Well... like... didn't you kno??? I have young kids at 2.75 and 5.5. So I am freshly acclimated to many consecutive sleep deprived evenings spent looking after sick kids and youngsters in need of care through the nite. Plus being a stay at home Dad who also earns a bit of a living makes for a real circus routine in our home sometimes. As such - my "recreational momenets" come at random times through out the day and in "blocks" when the kids are asleep and the daily "chores" are done. So... that sometimes leaves me up late on the computer - and sometimes I'm typing with a sleeping toddler on my lap too! TOugh to take or make business calls that way but I swing a few somehow.

At any rate - that's the general extent of my private rants in recent months and years. THe upside is I'm havin' a timeless experience looking after the childrens' needs closely. My spouse also drags in a few bucks alas - her employer is a decent sort so we have kept her slaving away while MY occupation of 14-15 years is better suited to "take the hit" with me staying close by the kids for their needs.

The younger one however just started attending preschool about 2.5 weeks ago for 4 days a week! And for the first time in about 5 years I've had significant recurring time during the regular business day where I had two free hands to do what ever I wanted to do... like work as I used to more or less! So it's been really nice lately in some ways. I saw the dentist recently and the hygenist and dentist said my teeth and gums looked really healthy. They kept asking what have I been doing to take care of my teeth and gums to vbring about such an improvement. At the end of the visit we ran down the list and the only thing was I now had some time to myself 4 days a week to be productive and otherwise! :confused3

Oh well - enuf with my pointless rambling... I have the kids eating and now I need to get a little more supper going to round out the evening meal. My spouse is preparing the other half of supper (one of my favorites) so I'm gonna move along now... :thumbsup2

You have a beautiful family. It does seem like a long time since we were on the ship in September. Different ship and date for us. lol. I'm really glad we will see each other this coming September.

When I get stuck in traffic like you did the other day. I crank up the tunes and sing. it's one of the few times I don't care who hears me. :lmao: usually if someone does hear me they laugh. sorta takes the edge off. :joker:

I do that too. It's gotten to the point that DS4 is confused if I'm not singing while I'm driving. He'll sit back there and say "Sing, Mommy!" :rolleyes1

Hey everyone.
Well, I just wanted to let you all know that my dad passed away last night. :guilty: I was fortunate enough to be with him and feel blessed because of it.
Thank you all for your prayers and kind words here. It is a relief that he is now at peace and we can try to begin to grieve and heal. You have all been so kind and I cannot wait to meet you all. Thank you again.
