09/15/07 Early Check in September 15, 2007 Eastern

Kam, I agree with Bareacuda and JNorris...........I vote for Dash!

He looks like a dash of this and a dash of that!

DS (18) is starting to get excited about the cruise. I've bought him "special" (Disney) attire for the trip......pirate:

We're discussing the excursions we'd like to do. Any input would be appreciated. I hope there are others closer to his age although it's not a big concern because he gets along with anyone 8 -80

counting down the days :yay:

Hi everyone,

HELP!!!! Can anyone tell me what night formal night will be? Is there any night better to miss dinner so DD and I can have dinner at Palo? Is brunch the same as dinner at Palo? (in other words would this be just as nice as dinner or would dinner be nicer if we can do that?) Is there a lobster night on Disney?

I don't drink caffeine or sugar drinks, and water gets old after a while. Can I bring some crystal light on board with me and make my own drink? ( I will even bring my own pitcher to make it in)

Thanks,
Cindy

Hi Cindy,
Formal night is on Sunday night at sea. and semi formal night is Thursday another night at sea. Priate night is Tuesday the day we're at St Maarten.
Brunch and dinner at Palo's is different... MORE food at brunch. Alot of things different then dinner. There are 3 other nights to try Palo's. On our first cruise we are doing brunch because DD and DSIL don't want to miss any dinner.:rotfl2:
You can always bring the personal sized packets and put in your water bottles. No need to bring a pitcher... save the space for suvies:banana:

if you have more questions... ask away!

Ann :yay:

I am planning on bringing the crystal light packs to and my case of water along with rasberry vodka. You can bring anything you want on board.

Ann,

Thanks for the answer. You say there is MORE food at brunch at Palo? Since this is our first Disney cruise would you recomend brunch instead of dinner? What will we miss out on if we don't do dinner there? Do you know? Sorry if this seems stupid I am just curious.

Cindy

You can bring anything? They don't confiscate alcohol? We didn't take any but on our first RCI cruise several people got caught trying to sneak liquor on board. They got in back when we got back to Galveston.

How do you bring on the case of water? Put a luggage tag on it, put it in your suitcase?

So many things to learn! :woohoo:

Cindy,
IMHO I think it is worth skipping one night in the dining room for Palo dinner. I suggest checking out the menus online and deciding which you like least, then try to go to Palo that night. We LOVE Palo dinner AND brunch!:thumbsup2 For me, DCL would not be the same without doing BOTH!:woohoo:

We have brought liquor and wine onboard that was packed in our suitcases and never had a problem.....
I am not sure how you bring the water on, I am curious too since we plan to bring probably one or two cases.....
Anymore questions, ask away!!! We love to give our info and opinions here;)

Cindy,

I agree with Kami... if you can do both dinner and brunch do it. If you can only do 1...IMO... I'll do dinner.
There's different foods at brunch. At dinner there's a set dinner menu that is wonderful. My favorite is the filet mignon... cut it with your fork tender. And the chocolate sufflet(sp?) is to die for!

Another family joining our happy big group:banana:

So,
I have a lot of catching up to do.. Is there a list or something that I can get on. Hubby and I are really excited as we were not sure if we could do a cruise this year.

We love activities, and if you all have bracelts or t-shirts, we would love to participate. My FE is almost done...:yay:

Thanks,
S

You need to PM Lisa0503, she's our keeper of the list.
Im doing the wristbands, Ive done the order and have several for late-comers. So there's no problem.

Hello!!!

Stargater is joining you all. DH 39, DD9 and Me 32. I am excited!!

Hello Stargater!!!!!! :wave2: Welcome to the group.
I have a DD that will turn 9 one week before we sail. So she will be in the Oceaneer Lab with your DD.

Hi guys I just found this site and am so excited! :cool1: I will be traveling with DH DS DD DMIL and SIL. DS is 22 and DD is 17. This is their first cruise and I am so excited to share the Magic with them. I have been spending time catching up on the thread. I am loving all of the suggestions and hints. Has anyone traveled with a person with disabilities? My MIL is in a wheel chair part of the time and on a walker the rest. We almost lost her in Jan. We were told that she would not make it out of the hospital but she kept insisting that she was going on this cruise. She has suprised everyone. I told the family that it was the Mickey magic that pulled her through. :)

Thank you all for the warm welcome. Hubby and I have had a difficult year and this cruise is our recovery. DD9 has no clue that we are going on the cruise. Her friend from our last cruise is on here. We are going to tell her that we are meeting them and spending one day at Disney together and then we are going to see them off at the Port. :lmao:

Won't she be surprised when we say, well what are you standing there for, do you want to go on the cruise or not?:rotfl2:

I am so mean :rotfl:

Hey Buddy!!

I love tricking the offspring! Whats the fun of having them if you can't mess with their minds every once in a while!

I think your MIL will be fine. Tell her to be very careful if walking around the pools; I've slipped several times there.

On Castaway Cay I think they have special wheelchairs that have the wheels made especially for sand. I'm sure they are limited and first-come-first-serve, though.

On our last cruise there were several people with scooters, so I believe that most of the ship would be pretty accessible. Might be tricky if we have to be tendered into St. Thomas.
