Oh yes, DH and I would go without the kids. There are times that I am asking to go and the kids say, "Again Mom?" At times like that I wouldn't feel bad leaving them with grandparents and going to WDW with just DH.
Now, if DH is in that "We just went. I am not quite ready to go back yet" kind of mood, then I would have no problem going by myself. Like I said in my above post..........He doen't need to go to WDW quite as much as me. I could take a trip by myself and still have a blast. DH and DDs are good going once a year or once every year and a half. I, however, would love to go about 5 or so times a year. That is why I am begging for DVC and season passes.

We got some really good pictures with the characters from our DCL Western cruise in 2005. So I am happy with those. DH and I both look good in them so I can just see the characters whenever I see them.

I will give you a little more . There is a thread on the Theme parks board that people were questioning why anyone would do WDW without kids. They were going as far as saying they must be childish, unsophisticated and possibly mentally challenged. WDW is for the kids. Blah, blah, blah. Crazy people. Ok now I am done being OT.

I've been to quite a few character meals at WDW and they are so much fun. For an adult with no children, it gives me the perfect amount of time to get my picture with them and have them move along. I personally don't like standing in line at the parks to meet the characters because I feel that I am taking up the time that some child who has never been could have used. But, if we walk by and see a character with no line? We'll definitely jump in!

As for that thread, thanks for telling me. I'll be sure to steer clear of that one! Call me childish I don't care. I'm not married and don't have children and don't plan on it just to go to WDW! Some people.

ETA: They obviously are not real Disney fans. Walt Disney said himself "You're dead if you aim only for kids. Adults are only kids grown up, anyway."

Hey everyone! Hope all is well. yeah, I heard about the CB too. I actually am not that disappointed as I didn't really care much for the CB on the ship and since we are doing 2 other character meals at WDW that trip, we dont mind missing it.

Lisa- please add my aunt and cousin to the roster! It is Kim and Mike and he is 18 and just graduated from HS. This is their first cruise and I am going to try and get them on her posting. They are in a gty cat 12.

I am so excited they are going! They are actually joining us on our whole trip from 9/13-9/25!!

IA. I tend to go in short spurts to the CB, but frequently need a break from the tension over there.

Thanks for the heads up regarding the character breakfast - if we do it then we won't be expecting the same quality that we have always gotten at Goofy's Kitchen at DL. We have done that twice and both times it has been truly outstanding. The best pics we ever got were with dd and the characters there - in fact we have the above our mantel to enjoy every day.

We have never been on a Disney cruise so we are learning all of this! And I am not good at this discussion board stuff, so I am going to try and keep up with all of you.

Good morning guys. We are another day closer to cruising!

I finally have our excursions booked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I booked with private tours for both islands, though, so I will not be on any of the DCL excursions.
I have Joyce Prince booked for the St. Maarten tour. We will go shopping first thing that morning. After that we will go to Divi Beach for a few hours. Then we will have a 3 hour tour of the island. We will see the planes at Maho either before the tour begins or during the tour, depending on the plane schedule. The husbands will be fishing that day so it will just be the girls on this tour.

I have booked a private tour with Henry Christopher of Triple E Tours in St. Thomas. He will give us a private tour of the island, take us shopping and give us some beach time. We still haven't made a definite, final decision on the beach. I have read and seen so many pictures. I have it narrowed down to Coki or Sapphire. I think it will be Coki, but it is a tough decision.

On CC day, I think we will just make it a nice relaxing beach day. We do plan to rent floats there.

So Lisa, you can take our names off of the DCL excursion list on the roster. Sorry. Our group just thought we would see/do more with our money on these private tours instead of DCL. I do realize that there is a huge risk if we are not at the ship in time. We have asked both tours to get us to the port by one hour before listed time.

We are so excited!!!!!!!
